Food was awesome. Great ribs. Amazing BBQ baked beans and a good baked potato.
Way too high on beer. That was my biggest knock. Clean. Friendly service.
The place looks nice.
The service is usually pretty decent (last time it definitely was not- but I’ll chalk that up to one bad waitress)
I got the BLT burger. Was pretty good- should have got more garlic mayo, needed some more zing.
My fiancé got the Smokey brisket sandwich. He said it was heaven. But he did not like the coleslaw. Was not refreshing.
I've never had anything bad from here. The service can be hit or miss, but the food is always great! I highly suggest the burgers or the nachos with pulled pork. They have better pulled pork than most barbecue places, and their nachos are huuuuge. Definitely worth it!
Good BBQ. I had the baby back ribs combo, including wings, with fries and apples. A good combo to have. The wife was disappointed that pot pie was taken off the menu. I like the atmosphere here alot, with the TVs playing sports and music.
Go for the Salad!?. Oh...And the ribs are pretty darn good too. And the sandwiches, and... Well, most everything I've had here is pretty good. The wife thinks the ribs are the best in town, I'd argue that, but they are good. What is surprising is the Steak & Spinach Salad. I wasn't real hungry last time I stopped by so I ordered that. Last time I enjoyed a salad that much it was a similar salad I had at Emeril's FIsh House in Las Vegas. In fact, it's the only salad offered in town that I crave enough to go back and get again. The staff seem efficient and friendly enough, the atmosphere is open, dark, noisy and altogether too much like a TGI Fridays for my taste.
Great Place To Watch A Game. Never really gave this place a shot till recently. Pleasantly surprised! Pretzel Bones are an awesome app, rack of ribs was delicious, and the bar area is huge. Great place to go watch some games, and not a well known sports bar hangout, so you're almost guaranteed to find a good spot to watch. Lots of TVs, good drink specials, and plenty of high-top tables.
Above Average. I walked into this restaurant expecting something like TGI Fridays or Applebees. Instead, I got a unique appetizer and HUGE burger. The appetizer was called Pretzel Bones, which consisted of soft pretzel sticks with three different dipping sauces. The burger was cooked exactly to my liking and included my favorite onion straws and bacon! There was BBQ sauce sitting out on the table, so I didn't even have to ask. The bf had the Smokehouse burger and thoroughly enjoyed it. The food was a little pricey, but well worth it! I'm very interested in the Smokestack burger, which is four or five patties with all the trimmings and a pretty hefty pricetag.
A+ on all counts. One of my favorite places to eat. The prices reasonable, the staff friendly and efficient. The food, I've never needed a take home box. : )
It's heavenly! I never liked BBQ and this place has changed it forever and saved lots with signing up with email and points card very enjoyable and never miss my sports! My servers have a great attitude and not found a dish I don't like. Just wish they bottled the sauces and sold them yummy!
Smokey Bones BBQ & Grill. My husband and I just tried Smokey Bones BBQ and Grill for the first time this past weekend. We live out of town and so we usually stick to places we know the reputation of, but we wanted to try something new! We cannot wait to get back to Louisville!! The food was wonderful, the waitress very helpful, atmosphere was good! Normally I'm not a BBQ type person but their pulled pork was out of this world!! We can't wait for another date night out of town!! Our new go to place!!!
OK BBQ. I heard some good reviews of Smokey Bones and took a trip out to experience the food myself.
We had a short wait at 2pm on a Sunday. Service was attentive, though a bit rushed. Both of us had mistakes made on our orders. The server fixed the orders fairly quickly.
The pulled pork was the highlight of the dinner. Chicken fingers were fairly standard and the beef brisket was dry and served warm rather than hot.
The Buffaque sauce (buffalo and BBQ sauces mixed) was the best of the 3 sauces available.
Overall, I would eat at Smokey Bones again, but I wouldn't go out of my way to do so.
Had a great time experience yesterday evening at Smokey Bones. The food seemed an little expensive but the portions were huge and we were able to take some home to eat the next day. The ribs were amazing, fell off the bone. My MIL also LOVED the mushroom Swiss burger! Service was good; waitress Sarah was very sweet and helpful. Service wasn’t as attentive as we were hoping, especially with the slow evening. But the atmosphere was great! We loved the mason jar lights and sports games on the televisions. It was perfect for our family. We will definitely be back!
Food was great, especially the mac and cheese and brisket. Our server Ross was extremely friendly and helpful. Will be coming back in the near future.
Great ribs & shredded plates. I really like the Cole Slaw, yummy. We use curbside service for the convenience & typically it's fast upon arrival.
Food was good and the service was great. Baked beans were stellar
Out shopping for Christmas and decided to grab a bite to eat! Overall, all employees at this location were friendly but our server Sarah J. took great care of us! She was really sweet and checked in frequently! Will be back!
Eric did a wonderful job making sure dinner was great experience. Food was perfect as usual. We always come back here and will continue to do so. Thanks again!
Went here as a group of about 14 for a Holiday lunch. Great service and atmosphere. A wonder server. I arrived late so needed to order something that wouldn't be served after everyone else had finished so I had their Boneless Buffalo wings. Crisp, fresh, and delicious.
We came into town from Michigan and were looking for some good bbq. Kennedy did a great job and was very helpful. We shared the Bonefire. Was so perfect.
Shelby was our server and she did amazing and was super nice and helpful, never went without a refill. Food was great all around a great place to eat. Strongly recommend.
Tried for the first time. Christa was a great server. Food and atmosphere were great. I had pulled pork sandwich with baked beans both were delicious. My wife had the pulled pork sandwich also with potato wedges. It was delicious as well. Their BBQ sauce is amazing. We will definitely return.
Wife and I normally come here every Saturday for lunch. Most of the time it is not crowded, all tvs are on sports so we sit at the bar.
Bartender is one of the best in Louisville and always friendly and attentive. Food is great for the price and good quantity.
We tried a little bit of everything. I wouldn't change any of it and all I do is review BBQ. The wings done "bones way" were thick, juicy, seasoned well with penetrated flavor. The ribs were juicy/smokey and sauced just right. The jalapeno cheddar smoked sausage was a real surprising flavor treat and had just the right amount of spice. I'd order this again by itself! Pulled pork visually had me convinced it would be dry but it was actually amazingly juicy, tender and flavored. It really caught me off guard. Mashed potatoes and gravy were delicious and I kept coming back to them for another bite. Lastly the baked beans had more BBQ flavor than the meats but that wasn't actually a bad thing at all. They bit back with a bold smokey bbq heft. Would definitely recommend them.
