Reminded me of the really good Mexican food we had living in Southern California. It was a bit tricky to get the order across because of the language barrier, but that speaks to the genuineness of the place. Unassuming little restaurant with some grocery items for sale. Chicken tacos were great, burrito was very good. Exactly what I wanted, price was as expected.
For me, this is the best place in the city for actual Mexican food instead of Tex-Mex or some Americanized version.
Hands down, best tacos in the Louisville area.
Stopped here for a quick supper one night and found some pretty damn good burritos. Nice big fat ones you have to eat with both hands! Next time I'm going to try their tacos!
The place is very clean, excellent service, but what I was impressed me was the homemade taste that have tacos. 100% recomended
Best tacos! And love the snacks & fresh meats. I always find a way to Westport road to enjoy some authentic pork tacos
Always fast and delicious. Lomo, Chorizo, al-pastor are all outstanding. I am a customer for life
Amazing, authentic food!!!! Best in Louisville!!!!
Best food ever hands down the staff is friendly...
Read about this place in the LEO, and I have been a faithful customer ever since. The best tacos in Louisville.
Insanely good, authentic, Mexican food. Please don't tell your friends.
Hands down the best tacos around. True and authentic.
Reminds me of Mexico...l like all the different choices ... :-)
This is the best place to get tacos, and authentic Mexican in the city. Recommend getting a variety of different tacos if its your first time to see what you like. My favorite is the chorizo and lately will get a burrito instead of the tacos. The burritos are big and stuffed full. My favorite Mexican and I come here at least once a week.
The food was absolutely delicious. For a first-time visit, I will definitely return. The only complaint was that the seating was compact, but outside of that, it was a great restaurant.
The sign on the window says, best tacos in town. They ain't lying!! I happened upon this place, during my lunch hour. I am so happy that I did! I ordered three carne, and 1 chorizo, from a man who I thought could have been the late great Salena's father.
They were amazing!!
I would love to give this place 5 stars, but they really need to work on their hot sauce game.
They offered a chipotle red, and guacamole green sauce. Both were mediocre at best.
A nice tamatillo salsa would have put this tacos over the top. With that being said, I have had tacos from many places, up and down Westport road. These by far, were my favorite! Good job guys!!
Edited Review (8/11/2023):
I have bumped La Rosita Sol from 2 stars to 4 stars. My original review commented on how based on food alone, this place is an easy 5 stars - this remains true; however the lack of service, rude interactions with an employee, and random hours of operation lead me to give it only 2... Well, I'm happy to bump it to a 4 after my last 3 visits. It appears management is doing something different. The store appears to have consistent hours that match those posted and all of my last 3 visits have been with the owner or manager and they have been very pleasant to me! If they keep it up, I'll bump them to a 5.
Original Review:
Personally, I think La Rosita has the best tacos in Louisville...which is why it saddens me to give them 2 stars. If it was on food alone it's a 5, but the problem is actually getting the food. The past 3 times I have visited them, they have been closed during hours they have been listed open. This includes weekdays and weekends. I've gone up to 3 hours before closing only to pull up and the parking lot is either empty or has another 1 or 2 frustrated to-be customers outside. Twice, the owner or store manager has been inside and rudely waved us out from inside the store without a word. In addition the past 2 tines I have actually managed to find them open the same woman has been rude and completley inattentive to my girlfriend or friends and I. It's not so much in your face rude, but more just a "you're presence is bothering me." Well that's what happens when you run a restaurant....you have customers. Nothing but good thing to say about the employees behind the food line though. Just wish this place had better management or changed their hours to reflect reality. I guess it's time I try the other 15 places opening shop in the city.
Kind prompt service. Hot delicious food. I had al pastor tacis and chicken torta. Will definitely be back!
I can't speak to the greatness of the other food here but I just ate a steak burrito and it was the real deal.
$7 might sound like a lot for a burrito but as you can see in the picture it's worth it's weight.
Awesome food every time, real sugar sodas! Have to try the banana and grape!
My favorite restaurant for some of the best Mexican cuisine in the city. Service is always great and fast. The food has yet to be bad even once and I eat here 2 or 3 times a week for the last three years!! 10/10
Great place, some of the best tacos in town!
Delicious authentic Mexican Tacos; I will try their Caldo de Res ( homemade beefe veggie soup) with vegetables and variety of tortas(subways) next time👌
I had a beef soup caldo de res really filling and good lost of veggies good flavor.
We also ordered milanesa de pollo not greasy side dishes and tortillas included salad and avocado good.
Tacos were great but had a lot of fat pieces that were hard to chew
