Besides the fact this bar has the hottest owners you will ever see... the food is absolutely FANTASTIC!!! The BEST tacos in town.. it's a struggle to choose between the brisket or the fish tacos. And their catfish bites are seasoned to perfection! I used to never like catfish but after reluctantly trying one of a friends I became OBSESSED. I literally craved this food my whole pregnancy and would waddle my way in and sit at the bar just to indulge in my favorites. If your tastebuds prefer bland and simple then this is not the place for you everything is full of flavor and made with love. I almost forgot to mention the ribs... *mouth watering* smoked to perfection, awesome sauce, macaroni and some sweet cornbread cake thing that is worth every carb. You don't have to be a drinker to go here and have some amazing food.
This place is gray to hear live music. One of the few places left in this town. They have also revamped the menu which focuses on barbecue and is amazing. The fish tacos I think are the best in town. The staff have all been around for a while and are very friendly. Definitely check it out.
Finally!!!...Great BBQ in the Highlands.... My wife and I just came back from Baxter's 942 for an afternoon nosh. Service was excellent(Thanks, Mike) and friendly.
Chef Chicago is the Man! His ribs and "wangz" were every-so-slightly smoked with hickory and mesquite and the ribs were fall-off-the-bone perfection. Sweet Jalapeño corn bread was buttery-rich goodness but I do like my corn bread sweet and moist. His homemade sauces ran the gamet of fantastic from the thin, vinegary brisket sauce, to thick, sweet red "traditional" and a spicy Carolina mustard sauce. Can't wait to go back and try Chef's blackened cod with his Creole remoulade(house-made, of course). If you have a yen for quality "Q", Baxter's 942 is THE place.

Great BBQ and affordable. The menu offers a great variety of BBQ choices. I tried the BBQ Slider sampler and loved it instantly. It came with a pulled pork sandwich with a carolina style mustard sauce, a brisket with a more traditional style Kansas City style sauce and a pulled chicken sandwich with an Alabama cream sauce that I had never heard of before. It's a great change from other types of BBQ flavors! They had affordable beers and good drink specials as well. The atmosphere is great as well. It has a great style inside with a nice warm feel and an excellent music set up.
I've since been back many times and the staff has been friendly and welcoming each time. I've also become addicted to the Nashville Nachoes! Make sure you try them!
The Beast. I had the Beast, which is a burger between 2 grilled cheese sandwiches. 1 with bacon, the other with jalapeno slices. It was very good and something you don't see everyday on a menu. I had 3 people in our group, sampling draft beers and snacking on the buffalo calamari. Everyone enjoyed their meal and the waitress was very nice and checked on us often.

Best on Bardstown. I have been to dozens of bars, restauarants, cafe's, etc along Bardstown and my favorite is Baxter's 942. The food was great, the drinks were on our table in no time, the staff was friendly, and the setup is like nothing else on Bardstwon. We came back the same night for great music and a friendly crowd!!! No complaints, only praises!!
Great food and great service. We heard so many good things about Baxters and had to check it out. The wait staff was very attentive and very friendly. We had a few beers and had dinner there as well. The food did not disappoint! To make things even better they had a great happy hour that had 2 for 1 drinks from 4pm to 7! We will definitely come back and make this place a regular spot. I encourage everyone to check it out.
I like it!. Using an Amazon Social discount, I thought we would try this place out. We weren't disappointed. Food and service was good. I had to bring to the server's attention that there was no soap in the men's room. Otherwise, 5 stars.
Visiting my boyfriends best friends in Kentucky. We went out bar hopping, and this is where we ended the night. This place was very fun we danced the night away I had a couple of dance offs and I told the dj that it was my birthday so I could get some say on the songs being played😉 only thing that did suck was the restroom situation 😒 I hate waiting in long lines but that just comes with the night life activities everything is a long line including waiting at the bar to. Cover was 10dollars cash only there is a ATM inside. I am not sure about the food 🤔 I didn't see anyone eating either so couldn't say anything about the quality of it.
Good music and pretty popular on the weekends; very strict about rules of exiting and re-entry so keep it in mind. $10 entrance fee, smoking area/patio out back.

Wow what a place. Great food. Live music. And a dance floor where people actually love. Great location. Believe it or not there is actually parking very often on Bardstown. Was there on a Saturday night and partook of tacos. Came in the next day and bartender extraordinaire Jeremy hooked me up with a hair of the dog. Great local stout, and fish Tacos and Brisket Tacos, courtesy of Chef Chicago. The Chef even came out and greeted me. Baxter’s places a premium on real diversity (people interact), a variety of entertainment, and personal touches. I am new to Louisville but this is one of the best places I have discovered.

Excellent live music venue! These folks always have great bands playing, it’s one of the only places still having live bands play consistently. I was also very impressed by their security team. Very polite but firm, it’s a great place to have drinks and dig on live music!
Chill bar. Attended a live show with two country artists. It was fantastic. Food looked tasted good.
If your looking for the crowd, look no further! Food, drinks, all walks of people. Easy hangout spot.

I have been here 3 times and have had a great time every time. Staff and security is great. Security noticed I was uncomfortable and asked me if I was bothered. Very caring.
