This is a good little restaurant as long as you don't go in expecting it to be more than it is. A good, cheap little fast food place. I usually get carryout.

First started going to Chinese Chef in 1984. Been about 20 years since I have been back due to not being in the area it's located often. Stopped in for lunch and had Combination 8 Beef Broccoli. It was good and I enjoyed the sauce it was prepared in. I got some hot oil on the side to spice it up a little and the over all meal was great for a quick lunch. I used to get the cashew chicken back in the day and hoped they had it still but it wasn't on the menu. The service was friendly and fast and the restaurant was clean. I am glad i was able to stop in and reflect on the past and enjoy good food.
Cute little Chinese place. Good was definitely fresh and delicious. It comes with fried rice with nothing added.
I ate in but was disappointed that I still got my meal in a to go container with plastic flatware. There only atmosphere was a large, loud, big screen TV sitting on one of the tables.
All in all, I would do takeout again but not ready in.
Delicious! Great service. Quiet atmosphere, food was fast and fresh. I've only ever gotten fried rice and sweet and sour appetizer and the sizes we're both decent for the price. I'd be willing to explore more from what I've tried.
Ive been eating here for over 15 years. Food is great. Employees are super nice. Definitely come visit and enjoy some good food.
In response to another review left on this restaurant, my kids have been here countless times and have always been treated with respect by all the staff. The response these other kids got from staff was due to cause and effect. If you act like a little thug, you will be treated as one.

Prompt and on time delivery, accurate order, reasonably priced, and the food was delicious!
I ate here 3 days a week for almost 4 years. Best fried rice in town ✋ down
Loved their food; great taste and prompt attention.
Their fried rice are the best! They do catering and made a large batch of combination fried rice for my wedding rehearsal dinner. It came out hot and fresh. Everyone enjoyed it. Highly recommended.
Glad the original owners are back! When they switched owners I stopped going!! Been going to this place for over 18+ years…. The only Chinese place I’ll go to, when I lived in Indiana I use to drive all the way over there when I wanted Chinese! They give nice portions…I always get combination fried rice and sweet&sour chicken, absolutely love it!!
Sn: I think it’s time to get y’all speakers fixed in the drive thru lol 🥴😂😂 I wish y’all open on Mondays and close @10 on the weekends
Absolutely fantastic food, made by fantastic people. If you ever get the chance - try their General Tsos. I warn you, it's spicy --- but as a person who can't eat a hot chip without having a coughing fit, it's a good kind of spice. It makes your face sweat, and your nose kinda run, but it actually has flavor (and a good one, might I add). They also managed to not f*@# up rice, which seems like a low bar, but from my past experiences is not. In general, this place is amazing, and may be my favorite restaurant as of the present time, and for the foreseeable future.
My business is near Chinese Chef. We've eaten here often. The service is good and the orders come out quickly. Although you order at the counter and pickup back at the counter when ready, they often bring the food out to your table. Especially when the owner is working the register. It's clean and the folks there are friendly.
The menu here is focused yet there are plenty of choices. I like lo mein and there serve it up many different ways at Chinese Chef. It's pretty good !
A lot of folks seem to complain here and other restaurants that the staff is not friendly. I'm here to tell you that you most often get back what you give. I always try and think about how the owner of a restaurant would review me as a customer after I left. Was I friendly and polite. Did I leave a nice tip. Did I clean my table off when I left. Think about it.
Best Chinese food I’ve ever had in my life. The general tso and orange chicken are my favorite. Incredible. Amazing. Show stopping.
The original Chinese Chef Back!!! This place was a staple for me in the 90s and early 2ks. I hardly ever venture outside their fried rice dish because it's just so good! BEST fried rice you'll ever have the area hands down. I promise you. If you hate it, tell the chef that LeMix sent you I'll pay for your meal. 😂
Also try their fried dumplings, a super solid appetizer!
This place is a hidden gem. I've been here many times and this is my favorite fast food chinese restaurant in Louisville. Their combination fried rice is to die for. Flavors are unique compared to your typical Chinese take out. The new owners are nice and provided great customer service.
Recently, I decided to try their Mongolian Beef and asked for extra spicy. It was not a disappointment!
I been going to this restaurant for nearly 30 years. The food is outstanding. Never had a bad experience there. Most importantly they have ALWAYS been consistant. The food has been cooked right every time. I cannot say that about any other restaurant. If you are looking for no frills traditional american chinese food this is the place. It is truly traditional and dear to my heart.
The food is pretty good. Better than the other local Chinese restaurants nearby. I would've given 5 stars, but the drive thru speaker is broken and the outside is littered, weeds overgrown 24/7 and you can tell they dont care about the exterior. The other buildings on the block are well groomed so they make the block look bad. First time I pulled in, I thought it was shutdown from the looks of it. I eat here about 2 times a month.
I got the sweet and sour chicken and I liked the way the chicken was cooked. It was breaded way better than most.
