I've never gotten anything I didn't like. The shredded szechuan beef is on point, as are the pork wontons. Beef & broccoli are good as well. My wife is a fan of the vegetable delight.Only cons for me are the hours (wish it was all day) and the fact that they don't have delivery at lunch.
You cannot beat this place for lunch anywhere. Their food is great and for $6.91 after taxes for an entrée, fried rice, soup l and egg roll I wouldn't go to any other Chinese place.
I've ordered take out from here a few times and just recently had a chance to sit down in the dining room. They were super quick with the service so this is definitely a good place to go during a work lunch. Most importantly their food was great. Their daily lunch specials are a reasonable portion as well as a reasonable price. I ordered the Mongolian beef and it came with your choice of: steamed or fried rice, egg roll or wonton, AND egg drop or hot and sour soup. It's one of rare times I finished everything because it was just that tasty. You should definitely put China Town down as one of the best Chinese food spots in Lubbock. Just remember two things: they're closed Monday's and bring cash unless you plan on charging more than $10 to your credit card or ATM.
My favorite Chinese food for dinner occasion. The owners are friendly and can help make food suggestion for a dinner party. Very reasonable price too.
LOVE LOVE LOVE this place. Hands down, the BEST Chinese food in Lubbock. This place is authentic. The waitresses are always very polite and quick to refill my tea. This is my go to place when people ask where I want to go eat. I can't say enough good things about the restaurant!
Super friendly and fast. We ordered take out and it was ready in 10 minutes. They have no problem modifying your order. I will definitely come back.
This best chinese in town if you ask me. Very affordable and good portions. Great family run staff and homemade sauces. Highly recommend it
The first time I tried china town it was amazing...the second time was also amazing. Best Chinese food in town in my opinion.
Simple Chinese. This has become my go to Chinese food. I feel like their prices are low and consistent compared to chain restaurants that have come to town. I have dined in and usually carry out. With Carry out, I am always very pleased with the portions and have left overs. I have had the Beef Lo Mein and Chicken Fried Rice. It fulfills my need for a simple meal when I don't feel like cooking.
The staff is very friendly. The food is awesome. The location is great!
Overall Best. I have been coming her for years. Although some diners mention it is pricey, I can't disagree with them. Having said that, other non-buffet chinese restaurants are comparable or higher. This restaurant does have lunch specials. Today I ordered the cashew chicken for $5.95. It came with an egg roll and rice. I think this is very reasonable. Veggies are fresh and chicken and cashews tasted great. My only issue with China Town is that I am not a huge fan of their regular friend rice. It has no vegetables in it and they use black pepper. It leaves something to be desired as far as the rice is concerned. Whether dining in or carrying out, my service has ALWAYS been excellent. I appreciate their staff's attention to customer service.
The food is fresh and very good. I had no problems with the portion sizes or the price. It was a lot of food for the money. It is my favorite Asian cuisine in Lubbock. Service was also excellent.

It was very tasty and fast
Favorite place in town by far! I am not sure what is up with people saying they have small portion sizes. I can never finish my meal, and even have enough for lunch the next day. Love this place!
So great!. I love going to China Town, but what really makes it an awesome restaurant is that they deliver! It's the only Chinese place in town that does, so I'm just glad it's the best food around. The service is always great, the drivers are always prompt, and the food is always fresh (I mean FRESH- almost too hot to eat for a minute or two!). I don't have a single complaint about China Town, and this is coming from a VERY finicky eater and ex-waitress. :-)
This place is a great secret, so keep it quite for we can keep having it all to ourselves! Been going here for the past 3 years on a monthly basis...I have yet to have a bad appetizer, entree, or service. Great place!
Great staff, wonderful food, well priced!! Best chinese place in lubbock!!
Best lunch value in town!. China Town has been popular with almost everyone whom I've taken there. It is a family owned and run restaurant. I have even taken Chinese visitors we host from time to time who like it equally as well.
Inside you will find a quaint and brightly lit restaurant. They have a large elevated seating area to the left (usually left dark) as you walk in for private parties or large crowds. It is not uncommon to wait a few minutes before being seated.
Their menu has pretty much all the mainstay Chinese dishes you would hope to find. Their entrees are always delicious and satisfying. They do quite brisk to-go business most evenings (they are closed Mondays), and though the dining room may not be full, you can expect to wait a little bit for your food. The Moo-Shu Pork and Baby Bok-Choy with Black Mushrooms for something tasty and filling and something fresh respectively are recommended.
They also have a lunch menu. For lunch you can get most anything they have on their entree menu in a slightly smaller lunch portion, accompanied with your choice of fried or steamed rice, hot and sour or egg drop sour, and egg roll or crab rangoon. Lunch also includes an iced tea or coffee. You should expect to pay no more than $6.50 (excluding tax and tip). Not only is this a great value, but if you are in a time crunch you can get in and out as well. This is probably the BEST lunch value in town.
This is a great place for Chinese. The food is always good and service is great. Take cash though if you are eating by yourself because no cards if your bill is less than $10.
The food here is always fresh and tasty!!! The service rocks and the fish take is relaxing!!! Best chinese in town!
Rare Quality Chinese in Lubbock. If you don't want to submit yourself to the usual human feed troughs, e.g. Chinese super buffets, then check out China Town. The entrees are very good, as is the hot and sour soup. The egg rolls are indifferent, and the quantity of rice that comes with your meal could be larger, but those are niggles. This is high quality Chinese food and at a very good price.
Service is very cordial, without being overly familiar.
The restaurant is very clean and brightly lit, but as others have noted, there is a deadly dreary piano soundtrack that drones on and creates a slightly leaden atmosphere. I halfway expected to see a dish named Maudlin Pork in homage to the music.
One other quirk about the place: don't show up at 9:00 expecting to be served. For some strange reason closing time is 8:56. Go figure.
Good food good service. Went last night with some friends. I ordered the Hunan chicken, fried rice and hot sour soup. The meal was good. I liked the Hunan chicken but next time will stick with the chicken with garlic sauce. The hot and sour soup was good as always. We order some crab rangoon as a starter that seemed a little undercooked but we ate it anyway. Service was top notch. They admonished a parent whose children were being obnoxious. I don't see that often and I'm glad they think of the dining experience of others. This is a restaurant, not McDonald's.
I love China Town! Their service is always great (hardly ever wait to sit or for any food or refills). Their food is delicious also. I love their spring rolls and hot and sour soup. Best Chinese in Lubbock.
I'm obsessed.. I'm not usually one to take the time to write a review but for China Town, I HAD to. I've eaten here as often as I've been able to over the past year. After eating here, I refuse to eat at a Chinese buffet. Their Hot and Sour soup is delish, as are any of the appetizers I've had. I definitely recomend the General Chicken but my favorite by far is the Sesame Beef (I get them to add spicy sauce to mine.) It's perfectly cripsy beef strips in a sweet (and spicy) sauce. The lunch special is a great deal with plenty of food. I've never had bad service there but I'm sure, as with any restaurant, it happens. My only compaint is that they're closed on Mondays and I somehow manage to forget that and show up there anyway in the mood for their tasty food.
It is the best chinnese food in all of Lubbock the best thing there is sherreded beef shachwan style
Excellent food and service. My wife and I have been going here consistently for the past couple years. The staff, service, and food are excellent. Prices are competitive, portions are generous. The only drawback is the soundtrack!
Good food. Delicious chinese food!!, they have authentic chinese food and the service is great. I love the sweet and sour shrimp for lunch. Dinner price is a little too high for the same food you will get at lunch, so come at lunch!
Best "Chinese" in Lubbock. Sure it's the typical shiny, cornstarch laden, MSG seasoned "Chinese" food, but it is damn good. General chicken and orange beef are good to go. Very good hot and sour soup.
Inexpensive Lunch Menu. Excellent lunch prices. Way cheap.
Best General's Chicken in Lubbock.
Staff is always attentive and polite.
This is a nice little restaurant--the food is good, the place is clean, and the staff is friendly. I would definitely recommend it.
China Town is a great restraunt to bring your family and friends it is a very clean and nice restraunt the food is very great the service was outstanding as they greeted us and explained every question we had about the menu the food fills you up but leaves enough to take home for later I give this restraunt on a scale of one to five, five stars
Literally everything is so great but they just don’t put enough shrimp . Every time I order the shrimp lo-mein they put very little shrimp . If I’m paying almost $10 for it I would appreciate more shrimp 😭
This place is the best Chinese Restaurant in Lubbock, in my humble opinion. I always have had great service and great food. I like the fact that China Town isn't a buffet and the food comes out hot and fresh as you order it. The twice cooked pork and the orange beef are my two favorite dishes, but everything that I have tried has been outstanding. I highly recommend this place.
First time here, I was very pleased with the service, cleanliness of the restaurant, and the food. I had the chicken vegetable with hot and sour soup and cheese wonton lunch. It was all portioned well and nicely presented. Excellent little spot! I’ll be back.
Clean and simply the most delicious Chinese food we have had since arriving here two years ago from California. Excellent and kind service. We will go back!
