Chicken Scaloppini. Great food, large portions (two can eat from one entree), reasonably priced, friendly service.
Very good service. Our waiter was very helpful and knowledgable about gluten free menu, which is by far the best gluten free menu that I have seen so far. If you love Italian food Carino's is one of the best in Lubbock if you're gluten free coritos is by far the best!
Almost the best service I ever had from the hostess to the mgr to the bartender who was our waiter also! The bartender was so nice and quick with everything and our bread was fresh, warm and continually filled! I had horrible service from a Carinos in Midland but decided to give the Lubbock one a chance and it payed off!
Went for lunch today. Had the chicken parmigiana panini. It was awesome. Very good and incredible garlic fries.
Enjoyed our meal.... From the time we were seated we had a server taking our drink order literally within 30 seconds. Three minutes later she was taking our meal order. The cook, however, wasn't quite as fast. It took about 25 minutes from time of being seated to get our food. The food was good and prepared as ordered. Enjoyable dining experience.
Great happy hour. Right now, anyway, wine and 1/2 price pizza is always a winner. The only place I know that includes wine in the happy hour specials. The Margarita pizza is wonderful. We can sit at the bar (restaurant is always packed) and drink and eat under $30.00 easy.
Happy Hour. Carion's has really good specials!!! From their family meal night (I think it's Mondays), kids eat free night..., and their happy hour is pretty phenomenal! I love their peach bellinis! AMAZING... and appetizers are half price during happy hour... food is pretty pricey at lunch and dinner so go during happy hour and snack on some Italian nachos and consume your favorite adult beverage! :)
Best Italian in Lubbock. I have been to Carino's a few times and have not been disappointed. The food tastes mush better than Olive Garden, and the prices are decent too. I like that there is a large variety of items on the menu. The atmosphere is very inviting and the staff is friendly. I think this is a great place to go as a family. I highly recommend Carino's for Italian.
Delicious. The italian Raspberry and Orange soda were great!! I had the shrimp scampi and discovered it wasn't too heavy yet I was still incredibly full. The butter sauce was velvety smooth. The cool tomatoes added a great balance to the pasta. Their salad was colorful and the romano cheese was a nice touch. I would definitely eat here again!
I like it so-so, but don't look at the nutrition facts. This is a bit of a love/hate place. As far as chain Italian goes, this is a better option than Olive Garden. In Lubbock, there aren't any great Italian restaurants. Sure they may have an Italian name, but I challenge you to submit a real full-menu'd Italian restaurant in the LBK. That being said, I recently looked up my favorite appetizers and entrees and the nutrition facts are unreal. Unlike Olive Garden, this place makes their dressings and sauces from scratch, but beware that you are likely going to consume at least your daily recommended amount of fat in one mediocre meal.
Worth the Wait. Not all chain restaurants are bad, and Carino's is proof. I always order Johnny's sausage "skilletini" and have never been disappointed. They also serve a mean Bloody Mary. Sometimes there is a long wait (esp. on Saturday and Sunday), but you will be amply rewarded when your meal arrives.
One of our favorites. I do not know anyone that does not like this place. It's a great place to go and everyone including me says the bread and the dipping oil is fantastic! My husband, our friends, and our kids love the italian nacho's.
I love going there and just trying something different.
Great place
Great atmosphere
Great staff
Can get crowded and I've seen and been on a wait list up to 45 minutes long. But that about par around here especially during the weekends.
It's not gonna crush your wallet and spit it back to you.
Also you can order and pick-up if you like
Downside besides it being crowded...some dishes are really, really cheesy. Like almost to much cheese...other then that..nope it's pretty darn good here.
Good Mass Market Italian. I will say from the beginning I like this restaurant and eat there occasionally, but it is not the best in town. Stella's and Orlando's are definitely better. 10 years ago this would have been my favorite, but they had a change of management since and got rid of some of the best dishes as well as replacing their awesome fresh made bread with something that tastes like its from the freezer section at Walmart.
Love the Spicy Romano Chicken. Good atmosphere etc. It's definitely a chain restaurant, but I gotta say I love their Spicy Romano Chicken pasta dish. It is perfect every single time. I no longer even attempt anything else because I know that I"ll wish I had gotten my usual.
I always love this restaurant, we've been coming for years! Love food here a lot!!!
Pros:
Seated fast
Welcoming staff
Appearance of food
Bread & oil was good
Great waitress
Cons:
Took long time for bartender to pour a glass of wine for waitress
Dirty on wall beside table I was sitting in...bread and dust
* The food was good, however if you like thick spaghetti sauce, this is not the place for you.*
Shame on me, but I was so hungry that I forgot to take a picture of the food!! I can assure you that the shrimp scampi was wonderful!! My favorite thing is the bread and garlic/oil dip. I tried an Almafi strawberry lemonade made with Captain Morgan rum.....that will be a repeat on our next trip! We had great service by really friendly staff.
