I love this place and the owner. He is so friendly and the food & portions are delicious and large. My favorite is and always will be Yassa chicken & plantains. I'm moving back to Atlanta next week, so I'm going to miss this place. May they have a long & successful run in Lynnwood and beyond.

Friendly service, delicious food. Massive take out business and dine in flourishing. It’s like eating at Mama’s table, the food is that authentic and warming.

I have a thing for hand pies and theirs are outstanding. Wish they had music on instead of a soap opera. But super good food and a comfy vibe.

Amazing and authentic as can get. Must eat. If you overlook this place you deserve to be thrown in front of a train for the rest of your life as you regret the life you passed on the dish

I love the lamb and rice at Bantaba! I had it again today and it was grilled to perfection as usual! The drive from Seattle fighting the I-5 traffic is so worth it!

Delicious, generous servings, reasonable prices and friendly service. What more could you want? If you like slightly spicy interesting food, eat here. My only regret is that I didn't try a hand pie -- definitely going back as I love meat pies!

I was just in Dakar and since returning home have been craving thieboudienne and jollof rice. Bantaba delivers in a major way with their Benachin, the Gambian equivalent. The super triad of tomato, pepper in chili comes into full effect and the tilapia is perfectly cooked soaking in all that glorious pepper. Not too hot like in Senegal so Washingtonians used to blander fare can hang but still smoky sweet going down for a few well placed beads of sweat to the head. Chicken Yassa is also highly recommended, complex and super delicious. Bantaba thank you for curing my reverse homesick blues.

Was interested to try some new and based on popular reviews I happen to try this place. It is a small place and a simple menu but their food was very good. Ordered plantain fries, yasa chicken and Afra lamb while some other options on the menu was not available. Overall all items are well prepared and had a good taste. My only complaint is the lamb dish had a lot of bones and fat in it that made it less enjoyable. Overall I felt the quantity and quality was very good and a must try.

So tasty!!! Afra lamb is flavorful and delicious, and plenty of food. Plantains are nicely done and the sauce with them is different but fantastic. It was a bit of a wait so order well ahead. Will be back soon

Decent warmming restaurant. The staffs are friendly and the dinning area is clean. I ordered their popular peanut butter sauce with rice. Never thought peanut butter could be so match with spicy. The beef is also well cooked. Really happy we have this African restaurant around.

So delicious! Yassa Chicken is flavorful and comforting without being too rich. Afra lamb was delicious too! Definitely try the meat pies and black eyed pea slaw. Excited to add this to our neighborhood takeout rotation!

This restaurant offers BIG portions and I loved that! The plantains were amazing and the tomato/onion sauce that comes on the side was the perfect addition. I ordered the jollof rice with beef and it came with cabbage as well . It was TO DIE FOR! The only thing I didn’t like so much was the long wait — I waited for 30 minutes and I was the only one in the restaurant. Otherwise; this restaurant is HIGHLY recommended :)

Absolutely, hands down, the best take out I have ever had. The food tastes so fresh and healthy, and the taste of every item is absolutely delicious and unique. Whenever we have company and take them here, everyone absolutely loves it and cannot stop raving about it after trying it!
