So excited to have a true Baltimore-style snowballs /snow cones (shaved ice, if you will) in the area! They are apparently mobile and doing events and private parties, like the one I was just at. And if you grew up on snow balls as I did, then you will appreciate their menu of I guess 30 or more flavors? PLUS they had marshmallow topping! It is clear that "Sarah" grew up on snowballs. She definitely has the best sno cones in VA! Thanks Sarah!

I have gone to VA the last few summers and have had Sarah's snowballs and they are so yummy! She has so many flavors to choose from, but my favorites are tamarind and coconut! The kids love blueberry and lemon. Whenever we visit the eastcoast, the kids demand a snowball from Sarah:) Love the flavors and the sweet family that runs it!

We love having Sarah’s Snowballs. It’s nice to have a shaved ice vendor in no VA. Sarah has actually been out and served a few of my kids school events and our neighborhood block party. She’s got yummy flavors and TOnS of flavors to pick from. Her sno cones are something we look forward to every summer.

***Sarah’s is now a mobile food truck - check her Instagram for current location*** I’m a Baltimore girl, and snowballs were the best part of summer, especially when you didn’t have air conditioning! We drove 45 minutes from Alexandria to get one from Sarah, because I knew she was from Baltimore, and gets her flavors (the ones she doesn’t make herself) from Koldkiss, who supplies most B’more stands - and because she had spearmint, which is a flavor hard to find in NoVA. The ice is proper *shaved* ice - key to Baltimore-style, and different from the chunkier crushed ice snocone / Latin-style. She also has marshmallow cream - the hallmark of a B’more snowball - and Egg Custard flavor syrup. Her passion has turned into a business and we’re fortunate for it! What a wonderful, kind woman - it’s worth it to track down her truck on Instagram on a given weekend. You won’t be dissapointed. Note: if you’re only familiar with Latin-style crushed ice, this is finer - but she also makes homemade tamarind, syrup and topping, and has mango, strawberry, and other popular Latin flavors, in addition to a grenadine-sandalwood flavor popular in middle eastern countries. If you’re a newbie, try grape, egg custard (a richer type of vanilla) spearmint, or wild cherry with marshmallow cream - the contrast in textures is addictive, and you won’t find it anywhere else in NoVA! Btw, we found Sarah at a local cultural festival on a 95-degree day, and she was giving snowballs free to any public safety officer working the festival who wanted one <3<3<3
