Always a good experience. I've been to Cotton dozens of times over the years and have never been disappointed. Good food, good drinks and a unique, fun atmosphere.
Their appetizers are creative and delicious Of special note are their Popcorn Shrimp -- a generous serving of lightly battered shrimp lightly fried and served with a Thai sweet chili sauce. It is excellent, but the thing that hits it "out of the park" is the presentation -- they are served in a movie theater-style popcorn box! The other standout appetizer, to me, is the chicken satay. Slightly crispy with a very slight Indian inspired flavor, served with peanut dipping sauce and a bed of cucumber cilantro salad. I sometimes even get it as a entree. (BTW, it's pictured above.)
For entrees, one can't talk about Cotton without mentioning the meatloaf. Two generous slices of home style meatloaf, grilled, with a rich mushroom gravy and served over mashed potatoes. If you like meatloaf you'll love it. If you're on the fence, it might turn you into a fan.
Other standouts are the Buttermilk Fried Chicken, the Turkey Schnitzel and the Bistro Steak. All really good.
Like any good bar, they have great cocktails. But there's one glaring oversight. They bill themselves as a Martini bar, and have a number of unique and seasonally changing offerings that run the gamut from crisp and refreshing to sweet dessert-like drinks. But if you want a traditional martini -- made with gin and a small rinse of dry vermouth, you might be disappointed. It seems none of the bartenders really know what is in a gin martini. I had one bartender even tell me she didn't think they even stocked dry vermouth! It's disappointing that a "martini bar" with an otherwise excellent cocktail menu, can't make this most traditional and classic cocktail. Now, I simply don't even ask and instead get a Manhattan (which they CAN make, and make well!) or one of their specialty cocktails instead.
Cotton is a great place and I recommend it highly. It's casual, but fun and elegant. It can get busy so reservations are a good idea especially on weekends.
Great food. I recommend the calamari, lamb steak and espresso martinis.
Grazing Destination. Today we decided to graze on appetizers. Good choice. The baked goat cheese and calamari were great, the crab cakes looked real yummy but were missing the crab chunks but tasted good. He wedge salad was perfect. Great service and atmosphere. Definitely a come back visit is planned.
Good food but over priced. Fresh food and cooked properly.
Went to Cotton for dinner while traveling through Manchester. The menu was phenomenal and ended up ordering 4 appetizers to share. Our favorite was the simple mesclun salad with maple balsamic dressing. Also ordered the apple cider caramelized onion soup and goat cheese marinara with hot thick crusty bread, both of which were incredible. Finally the crab cakes which were really good but were outshined by the first three. Cotton earned 4 thumbs up from us. We even bought their cookbook!
~fantastic~. The food and service were both fantastic. No meatloaf on the menu when we were there! I had Asian potstickers and the almond crusted turkey schnitzel, and the white Chocolate raspberry creme brûlée. Is your mouth watering yet? It should be! The portions are substantial. I thought the price was about right for the portions and the quality of the food.
I've never had a bad experience here and I've been multiple times. Great food, lovely atmosphere :)
Never disappoints.. Cozy, warm, intimate... the perfect spot to bring your honey for some simple (albeit a tad pricey) comfort fare.
With so many haute menus brimming over with pretensious and far-fetched combinations that rarely deliver satisfaction, Cotton is a welcome detachment from that haughty school of stuffy cuisine. Sometimes, dammit, you just want meatloaf and mashed potatoes.
Oh, and by the way, it will be best meatloaf you have ever had. Just don't tell your mom.

My husband took me to Cotton fir my birthday, after a couple of suggestions from friends. We both loved it and said we had to come back and try the dinner we didn't pick. I had lobster ravioli and he had butternut squash ravioli. They both had great flavor and mine had a great searving of lobster ion and on the lobster. Our waiter was friendly and helpful with suggestions. We will be dining there again. And, I loved the mill building atmospher.
Upscale, quality menu with prices that match. Worth visiting once in a while.
In Manchester, NH, there’s a great restaurant I’ve heard a lot about from colleagues and my blogger friend Pav alike. It’s called Cotton . My co-worker, Jeff, takes his wife there for fabulous martini flights and date nights. Pav told me it’s one of the only stand-out places around, although I found Firefly on our last visit to be more than adequate.
A nicely executed pasta dish, reminiscent of some of the other good pastas we’ve had recently (like last year’s celebration at Trattoria Delia with their excellent orechiette).
Always an amazing experience at Cotton. It has been consistently delicious for years. The mashed potatoes are a staple with just about every meal with a wide range of sauces accompanying the dishes. Drinks were delicious as always and the apps were a highlight as well. Reservations full up fast, so make sure you plan ahead!
My wife and I tried out Cotton for the first time for our anniversary. We were greeted and congratulated by the hostess who seated us in a cozy corner of the banquette. The restaurant was full as expected for a Friday night but did not feel crowded and was not overly loud.
Our server was polite and attentive without being hovering. We started with drinks and bread followed by the Asian Pot Stickers for an appetizer. We each had a salad, one Caesar and one Simple Green salad. For dinner we tried the Bistro Steak and the Meatloaf. Dessert was the Lemon Creme Cake. Everything was delicious and the pace of the meal was perfect. Nothing was rushed and neither did we wait too long. The prices are on par with what one would expect from this type of restaurant.
There is a small free parking lot which fills quickly and ample space in a paid public parking lot that is adjacent. It is conveniently located off the highway and walking distance from everyplace downtown.
Overall, it was a pleasant experience and we would highly recommend anyone try it.
We have been here numerous times & have never had a bad experience. From the service to the food everything has always been excellent! One of our favorite spots in town for a quiet & quaint date night 🥰
An absolutely incredible experience in every way! The scallops entree has been the absolute best meal I've had in all of 2022! An absolute must visit!
Had an excellent dinner with my wife and would recommend this restaurant to anyone who is looking for a nicer place to eat. Food was outstanding! We had the Sweet and Spicy Popcorn Shrimp, Cotton's Bistro Steak & New England Lobster Scallop Ravioli.
The food is outstanding. Drinks were strong and delicious. Atmosphere is very nice as well. Dress up or dress down; they do not discriminate. We will definitely be back!
Went to Cotton on a whim Friday night. I wasn’t sure there was a a really great food in Manchester so I didn’t have high expectations but they absolutely crushed it.
Drinks were really solid but the chai whiskey surprised me with how great it was. This is a standout cocktail an absolute must do as it really tastes like fall.
Choose the goat cheese as an opener and it is really flavorful calzone type taste. I’d recommend it for 2-4 as it’s a generous portion.
The butternut squash ravioli was as great as any I’ve ever tasted and the scallop casserole just hit the spot.
Service was really great even though it was very busy. In this time where good service isn’t a given Cotton delivered. We were there around closing time and weren’t rushed at all. It felt like they had a seamless transition as the night headed towards closing.
It’s busy but not loud enough to bother conversation. This would make for a very good first date or any time you’re just trying to spend quality time over amazing food.
Parking is a dream. The prices are exceptionally reasonable and the food is awesome. This should make your list in Manchester.
Awesome Night At Cotton
Celebrated our Anniversary with Freud Chicken and Butternut Squash Raviolis. Service by Brian was Top Shelf. Food was Amazing; fresh, hot, and flavorful! Best Fried Chicken and awesome mashed potatoes. Decor was casual and inviting.
Overall an awesome dining experience. Prices were very reasonable.
Also, the toffee crunch cheese cake was delightful!!
