I am a bartender down the street. I have gotten to know Chef Ben and a couple of the other staff members. Made it a mission to come in for the opening... I normally never ever ever go into a new establishment until they have been open for at least 6 months. This was different. A great cause. Eat good. Do good. I ordered a French chardonnay. Was a very pleasant wine. Not heavy on butter or malalactic fermentation. Crisp and clean, but with flavor. Perfect to compliment my buffalo frog legs. The meat fell off the bone. Crispy on the outside, and a center that just dissolved as you ate it. Wine and frog is done. Continued with just my soda water. Formaggi. The plate came out with everything assembled on a large soft pretzel. Design, idea, and creativity were amazing. The differing meats and cheeses went well with the whole grain Dijon and fruit capers. I very much enjoyed my small meal. I cannot wait to try the duck and chicken dishes the customers next to me were enjoying till the end. Service was great. At no point did I need to wait for a water refill, or a plate to be cleared. As a former chef and current restaurant employee, I fully recommend this place to anyone. I WILL go back with other people.

Tonight’s opening night dinner and friendly staff did not disappoint. Melt in your mouth salmon on top of black lentils and my friend enjoyed the roasted vegi micro green salad just to mention a few standouts. Chef Ben Dubow even offers small or regular plate options. This is will be our go to supper place.

Party of 7 last night, our reservation was increased and they didn’t flinch, they were very accommodating, everything was spectacular! From the mushroom appetizer, duck wings, French onion soup, then dinner arrived, the flank steak and frites were to die for, mushroom ravioli, chicken yum! Next time I’m saving room for dessert.�

What a great concept to give folks a hand up by teaching a marketable skill. I had the mac & cheese and it was quite a treat with a great mix of flavors perfectly cooked. I would recommend anyone to try it for a casual , well priced meal and good atmosphere.

Thank you Chef Ben...even though it was a packed saturday night and i was a single at the bar it felt like home. Welcoming attention from staff and conversation with fellow patrons spoke volumes of the electric fellowship on the 3rd night. Champagne toasts and love of good food brought strangers into community conversation in all corners of the warm space. Loved all my dishes... brussels sprouts with apples and duck country style and crepe with orange creme...heaven! So many more dishes to try next time!

What a fabulous dining experience! Our appetizer, meals and dessert with french press coffee were so creative and delicious. I think perhaps you should start with the dessert menu first though, as the crepe was amazing! Caryn was our server and she was very helpful and friendly. We will make the drive from Willington again to enjoy another wonderful evening at Bistro on Main!! Thank you!

Walked in and instantly felt welcome. The menu was fun, French and approachable. It took me some time to figure out what I wanted because everything sounded awesome so I got a bottle of champagne, meat and cheese (local) while I decided. Ended up getting duck wings, truffle fries, and mussels. All were classically made and extremely fresh. Management and staff on point with hospitality. The Downside, I was too full for dessert, which all sounded innovative and delicious. Excited to go back. Nice job Bistro on Main

Easily the best meals I've ever had in the area. High-quality ingredients, delicious recipes, beautiful plating, a genuinely kind atmosphere and a community-oriented mission contribute to a truly special dining experience. This place has all of the quality with none of the attitude. Every time I've been here -- happy hour, meal, or pre-fixe dinner -- has been a home run!

The meal was wonderful and the service was equally fantastic! Diane made us feel right at home and Mary checked on us a few times. We shared a meat and cheese plate, yum! I had the steak frites and my husband had the duck. Both were delicious and thoughtfully executed. Finished with white chocolate mousse and a bread pudding. Perfect end to an amazing dinner. Thinking we will become regular customers. Looking forward to our next visit and will be recommending this special place to all of our friends and family!

Pleasantly surprised at this hidden gem on main St in Manchester! The escargot was great (hard to find a restaurant that serves it in this area). Had the steak au poive and rainbow trout. Both amazing. Dessert was lavender and earl grey creme brule and chocolate and banana crepe. Bring your favorite bottle of wine and the night is perfect.

Had the best dinner last night! The special Bass dish was amazing and my friend had the salmon to which he exclaimed- "Oh Yeah! We will be back!" Service was wonderful- I ask a lot of questions and staff was very helpful. Menu is amazing! Really had a hard time choosing my meal, so many good choices. Can't wait to come back!

Thank you for a most enjoyable evening! Friendly staff, awesome food, and a great vibe throughout. Something truly special is happening in those walls and Manchester is lucky to have such an awesome concept on its Main St.!

Our meal and service were amazing. We enjoyed our delicious app (mushroom toast), entrees (duck breast and loup de mer) and loved our dessert (almond bread pudding). Our server was attentive and informative, and we love the mission. We will definitely be back!

Had a wonderful meal today after seeing a show at Hartford Stage. I had read about this place the past few times I came to my home town and was so excited to try it. I've lived in NYC for over 25 years, and this place was absolutely on the level.of a NYC restaurant.

We had a wonderful celebratory dinner at your place, earlier this month. It was our 31st wedding anniversary, and also the birthday of one of our best friends. Rose had been there several times, and highly recommended Bistro on Main. You did not disappoint! All three of our entrees were totally different, and equally delicious...and we did the same with our desserts, and shared them all! We will definitely be back soon!
