West Haven, CT "public" beaches are for "residents only" unless you're willing to pay $1.25/ hr to park in one of the few precious parking stalls reserved for "non-residents". Or you can run the risk of being towed, if you want to try and park in one of the nearby stripmalls. This attitude carries over to gas stations, where you may find that the restroom is for "Employees Only". Against this backdrop of refusal and exclusivity, the Dublin Donuts was a haven of welcoming and relief. The sweet young lady who helped us was named Jocelyn and was a credit to her upbringing, her family and her employer. We will look forward to our next opportunity to visit Jocelyn and her Dunkin Donuts, whether we find a "public beach" in the area where we will be welcome, or not!
