Review Bakery On State - Manitowoc

I like their bread it's so light and airy. All of their bakery is good. The dog loves the home made dog treats.

Are you kidding? I cannot believe this places isn't front and center on Main Street. I had and eclair, cookie and a slice of an awesome cake. Delicious is the perfect word for this. Definitely look them up and enjoy.

I don't know what place most of these people have gone to but , I was just there to get Valentine cookies and was very dissapointed . They tasted stale , they were very chewy and stuck to your teeth , the frosting tasted terrible and they were frosted very sloppily. It was all over the sides of the cookie , on the bottom of cookies and was lumpy . Would not recommend going here.

Stopped here after seeing reviews. Definitely one of the best around. We picked up several items and nothing disappointed.

Chocolate covered custard filled long john was fantastic! Apple fritter also great.

Everything here is always so good definitely some of the best pastries you will have around here

One of our favorite bakeries! Good selection of bread, donuts, and other tasty treats. Freindly helpful staff and they also have treats for your pups.

We love this place!!! Peanut squares and almond croissants melt in your mouth. The kids enjoyed the cake pops and cookies, too. A must-visit place when we're in Manitowoc!!

Beth did an AMAZING job with my custom cake. She communicated well and always kept me up to date. She was very accommodating and helped me decided on the best design. I definitely recommend Bakery on State for your cake and bakery needs!!!

Did an awsome job on my husband's 40th birthday cake and cupcakes. We did a Dead Pool theme, and everyone loved it! The cake and cupcakes tasted amazing, and everyone raved at how good it was. Chocolate cupcakes with a cream filling, and a lemon poppy seed cake with lemon filling. Excellent! Love this place!

I ordered a cake for my daughter-in-law's baby shower. Beth did a great job of incorporating the color theme and the cake was delicious! I ordered sugar cookies as well just a couple of days before I was scheduled to pick up the cake. Everything was ready for pickup. I ordered a cake from Bakery on State for my husbands birthday. We live in Colorado and were visiting family, the gentleman I worked with over the pjone was so nice and helpful and suggested the red velvet cake after I told him my husband liked cream cheese frosting. I'm so happy I listened, the cake was moist and delicious and they decorated it so nicely!

Their carrot and cream cheese cake is THE BEST. The rich taste is so good, you will want to take a bite, walk a way to savor the flavors, then come back and do it all over again. This is not a cheap cake, but a cake that will have your friends talking about "that cake" - the quality is outstanding. Fresh, solid and wonderful.

Best cakes in the area. It is great to be able let them decorate as they please and never be disappointed.

I've had nothing but issues continuously with bakery on state. A few years ago, I ordered a small cake for my graduation. I went to pick it up, and it wasn't ready when promised. Last year, I ordered a cake for my boyfriends golden birthday. Again, went to pick it up, it hadn't even been started when it was promised to be done. And then the biggest issue.... my gender reveal cake.... of course, we went to pick it up and it wasn't even started when it was promised to be done! We had a house full of people coming in two hours and she said she forgot about it. Mistake forgiven.. so we give her an hour and half, go back to pick it up and it's completely not what was ordered. We ordered a small cake, and got a HUGE cake, with the wrong saying on it. Then when I went to cut into the cake it was FROZEN!!! I couldn't even cut through the second layer of cake because it was frozen cheesecake. They didn't seem to be very apologetic. Their work is very tasty, but don't count on it being done on time or being right! Disappointed to say the least.

Monday afternoon I asked for cinnamon doughnuts and the new woman working said they ran out. Tuesday morning, right after they're open I go in and still there's not even one. I'll never go in there again because it appears they don't care about what I want as a regular customer

Being New to Manitowoc, my husband and I didn't have a clue where to go for our wedding cake. Took a shot at Bakery on State, and we were not disappointed in the least. Kieran did a wonderful job taking the time to get to know Alan (my husband) and I and asking us all sorts of questions. They were quick to get back to emails and voice messages we left for them. We didn't feel rushed whenever we were in contact with them. I brought a flower I really wanted on my cake, and asked them if they could fit it in please do. Beth, the cake artist did a wonderful job fitting it in. I am so happy to know I have a bakery that makes you feel happy and comfortable to turn to when we have family celebrations. I would recommend this place to anyone. When you walk in, expect to be greater with a smile!

Called for a Bridal shower cake for my daughter. I asked for spring colors ie... pinks, purples,yellows and greens. It came peach and purple with forest green flowers. Definitely not what I asked for. The bakery did nothing to make up for their mistake. Will never return.
