Found this spot on our way to the aquarium in Manteo..definitely a great find! Stop by and get some great chicken or pork bbq sandwiches. Probably the best sandwich you will ever bite into. Good food, great environment and wonderful music!
We visited 3 years ago when we came down here and had lunch after visiting the aquarium. This was on our short list of must do’s while down here again. Love the atmosphere, the staff, the music, and especially the food! The island chips are definitely my favorite side! Thank you for great service and food once again!!!! This will be traditional visit every time we come down here!

The best hidden secret on the OBX best Bbq pulled pork and Fish ever, but their best thing is the Brunswick Stew, 200 years old family recipe, just wow. I wish we could have it in Florida.
The atmosphere is classic southern, the vibe is perfect for a BBQ joint, The food is all great: I love the pulled chicken bbq, the brisket, and the corn nuggets are magic! Good sweet tea and funnel cake fries? Winner Winner. Mike is so nice and knows his BBQ and smoke. If you come to Manteo, you need to come through Carolina Bar-B-Que

Went last summer with a good size group and it was awesome! Menu had an excellent selection, something for everyone! Food was delicious and the smell alone was worth stopping by. Definitely would like to visit again and recommend anyone in the area to give it a try!!
We had lunch there and it was very good! I had the brisket sandwich with Island fries and my husband had the brisket plate. Both were excellent; tender and juicy. Friendly service. We will go again.
We visited Carolina Bar-B-Que in 2017 when we were on vacation & came back in 2018. The Bar-B-Que is always delicious and they place is comfortable to enjoy your meal. It's a true southern joint & one of the best places to eat in Manteo N.C.

The pulled pork sandwich was great! It’s on par with Currituck BBQ’s pork for sure. The sides are good, but their speciality seems to be the BBQ and that’s fine because that’s what I came here for! The owner is a delight to talk to and really takes pride in what he’s doing. Highly recommend for an inexpensive quality lunch!
I met the owner who was awesome. The hospitality we were shown was by far the best so far out of anywhere in the outerbanks. The food was fresh and affordable. 2 adults and one kid ate for about $25 and got our bellies full.

We love this place and will definitely come back! The meats are smoked inhouse and everything is home made, prepared and presented with pride! We had an array of sandwiches (beef brisket, pulled pork, cheeseburger +, fish) and sides and loved every single item. We sampled the Brunswick stew and took a quart home. Seriously yummy, welcoming, and homey atmosphere. Well done!!
The food is GREAT! My husband and I have been there numerous times for lunch and never had a bad meal or service. BBQ is so good, big juicy burgers, have hot dogs that our twin granddaughters love, Island fries are super and so much more. Love the atmosphere, the staff, and the music Ice tea is awesome! Mike and all the younger guys that work there are so nice and always have a smile. Love eating here and looking forward to this Friday to have some of Mrs. Lula's fried chicken. We for sure will return , again and again. Don't leave Manteo without giving it a try, and if you're staying at the Beach side, make sure you take a trip to Manteo to try it out. You won't be sorry.

The food here is so delicious! You can definitely tell they put their heart and soul into making the food! Loved the atmosphere too! Can’t wait to go back!!
The Pork BBQ plate was delicious. The pork was tender, juicy and the right amount of the tangy Carolina BBQ sauce. The Baked Beans were tender, sweet and smoky, and the Collards were tender, juicy and smoky. My wife loved her Pork BBQ sandwich, but the Cole slaw lacked any flavor so she had to add both salt and pepper. My son did not like his Chicken Sandwich because it wasn't shredded, and the meatier parts of the chicken lacked sauce and flavor. The fries were soft and tired looking.
The food was amazing. The chicken and the pork were both great, we didnt try any of the seafood or the brisket. The beans, smoked mac and cheese, and fries were all world-class.
Service and atmosphere was great. they offer a first responder/law enforcement/Mil discount, and politely asked me what branch i served in, etc., then pointed us to the challenge coins and various PD and FD patches around the restaurant.
10/10, will absolutely come back and order some seafood and brisket.
The food was so good! The brisket was so tender and juicy I did not need to add extra sauce, but they had sauces available if you wanted it. The regular size was plenty big enough for me, but they had a large available if you have a bigger appetite. The hush puppies and sweet tea were outstanding! The staff was friendly and the food was delivered quickly. I will definitely come back on our next visit!
Stopped in on our way back to Wilmington, NC. Atmosphere is everything here. There is not service, since it is a walk-up for ordering. The only service received came from the Sweet Tea being out. I ate my whole meal and was still waiting for tea as I wrote this review. The food looked good. However, it ended up just average. The best thing was the Brisket baked beans.
Good NC northern eastern style pulled pork BBQ and sauce. Black brisket if you like it black. Good hush puppy.
Let’s just cut to the chase. Eat here. Eat here a lot. Reasonable price with large portions. And every single thing, and I mean everything from the Carolina bbq sauce to the sides and back to the pulled pork was absolutely delicious. I seldom make it this far south but if I do I’ll definitely stop back here. Excellent!!

We found this rustic and cozy barbeque haven quite by accident as we were searching for a late lunch venue. The chopped barbecue plate was excellent genuine smoked pork. The sides were also prepared to satisfy the palate of one who has a taste bud for superior pork plates. The fried flounder was overdone, but the flavor was reminiscent of vintage fish camp offerings. The staff members were friendly and happy to serve. We will be back.
Ordered beef brisket plate and pork bbq plate. Very generous portion. Beef brisket cooked and seasoned perfectly, so tender it falls apart when I stuck my fork into it 👍
Pork BBQ plate is just as good, loved the smokey flavors. Love the coleslaw and baked beans too. Loved the ambience and staff are super friendly.
Very unique place. Food was very good as well as the service. Very polite and appreciative staff. Kids loved the fries and grilled cheese. Adults had beef brisket and smoked chicken, all very good! Screened eating area with ceiling fans so a little warm, but worth it. Would definitely eat there again!
