Wonderful intimate dinner with my wife. Superb service, very attentive and eager to make.ypur experience the best. Ordered drinks, apps and we had the Ribeye dinner. One of the best steaks I've ever had.

Fantastic food and service! Our server was Lauren and she was polite, professional and really made it a great experience. I got a chicken dish that came with beans and pickled carrots. It was way better than I could have imagined. Perfect portion sizes as well. Come here for healthy housemate food and a great location

This was one of the best meals we’ve ever had in the OBX, from server to cuisine. Thank you Shirley for a great experience and to the chef for the wonderful meal! The shrimp and grits app was very good (spicier than normal), the chicken and gnocchi were amazing, the burrata and beet salad was delicious, scallop and squid ink risotto was one of a kind, brussel sprouts were executed perfectly, and their lemon pie with saltine cracker crust was unique and delicious.

Everything was excellent! They seated us at the bar (which we enjoy) in minutes, and were playful and engaging. The decor looks dated in the professional pictures, but is welcoming and lovely once there. Chris made a quite fine 1587 Old Fashion, humoring me in my picky preferences. The mahi and the scallops were especially delicious and skillfully prepared! They don't necessarily understand the irony of a Roanoke Island restaurant celebrating the Lost Colony serving a chicken dish from Gainesville GA (site of Brenau University, which promoted the forged Dare Stones), but it didn't detract a bit from a particularly fine dining experience.

Amazing dinner! Dishes were thoughtfully composed and exceptionally executed. Knife work, garnishing, and plating all of the best quality. I do not know why this place was not packed. Having dined up and down the Outer Banks for over 35 summers and autumns, this is the best meal we have had! Each ingredient had a purpose in the dish, food was perfectly salted, and everything from appetizer, entree, and dessert was beautifully done. Much of the produce used in the dishes comes from a local farm and is super fresh, prepared with care, and respects the flavor of the ingredient. If you are looking for a nice date night, call here for reservations, enjoy the view, and have a fabulous meal!

A classy but unpretentious restaurant with courteous and very efficient service. Each dish was a 4 or 5. Grilled tuna was 2" thick and the best I've had. Salmon special was excellent. Seafood oriented but also other protein and vegetarian option. Chef is creative but not contrived. Kids and adults all cleared our plates. $140 including 20% tip for 3 entrees, 3 apps, 1 kid meal, no booze. Not for every day dining but definitely a value for the quality and experience and worth a drive over from OBX. Thanks to Megan at 1587. Note: the restaurant is inside the Tranquil House Inn and is not signed separately. Don't do the goofy "geocache look around" like I did, just go in the front or back of the Inn.

Chef Eric doesn't disappoint. It was our favorite meal on our trip. The staff were so thoughtful, prompt and totally all hands on deck. What a delightful evening. Thank you 1587 Restaurant and Lounge.

Not an over the top fancy experience like I expected, but then again the prices weren’t over the top either. Good food. Nothing unique. Our server was very friendly and helpful. Nice spot but nothing special.
