Review Sunrise Family Restaurant - Maquoketa

I have literally never had a better farmers omelette in my life. The pancakes were so delicious… And my husband said his skillet was definitely top five things that he’s ever eaten. I actually went there a few nights prior to this visit and had a Reuben, hands-down the best one in history. The owners are super delightful, the cook comes out and asked every table how old the meal was… And the waitresses are super friendly. Highly recommend!!

Stopped in for an early lunch and ended up having the Sunday brunch buffet. VERY tasty! I especially liked the sausage links, Denver eggs, French toast with fruit. My husband enjoyed the tender ham slices, pancakes, Denver eggs, biscuits and gravy, and fresh fruit. All for a very reasonable price. Local family owned with great service. Will be back.

Out visiting places in Iowa an was in the area decided to stop an eat lunch. I told the lady I wanted chicken she asked beer battered or flour I asked her what she suggested she asked if I wanted crispy an I said yes so beer batter is what she suggested. Ernie was undecided between veal patties or breaded pork tenderloin an she suggested homemade tenderloin. We had creamy potatoes soup also. When the food came out the soup was the best we had for soup. Then the food came an if you walked away hungry that was your fault. The food was outstanding an homemade. Was by far the best food we ever had in a restaurant. We took half our food home. I recommend this place for anyone. Very homemade food. The pwaitstaff was great an we didn't try any dessert cause way to full. Prices were great.

Best food in Maquoketa. I've never had a bad meal and there is plenty to take home. The chef comes out personally and checks on you to make sure the food is alright. Love this place!!! ❤❤❤

Prices great. Food great. Staff great! Huge plate of ribs that came with potatoes, shrimp, salad and dessert for 10.45! Turkey club was biggest I've ever seen and came with soup and not much extra to add cottage cheese! All for under 25 bucks (with 2 drinks)!

Tasteless. Both the food and the service. My son took one bite of a doughnut. How do you mess up doughnuts? Rubbery bacon. Staff discussing people vomiting and the booth across from us is used for storage.
