Stepping into Takara is like a mini vacation. The service is excellent and the food is amazing, bursting with variety and flavor, heads and shoulders above Thai I've had anywhere else. If you are looking for authentic Thai food with enough choices to make even the most picky eater smile and the Thai connoisseur drool, Takara is not to be missed.

The food is out of this world! This is a true family restaurant with a variety of dishes to please every palate. The curries are wonderful and the noodle dishes make me hungry just thinking about them. If you like Thai food or would like to try something new and delicious, go to Takara.

Amazing Thai food. There are only 2 Cooks so be patient. It's worth the wait. We ordered spring rolls. Didn't take a picture because we ate them so fast. Best spring rolls ever! My husband ordered the pineapple fried rice and I had drunken noodles. Both excellent.

Great small restaurant for dine in or take out. Lots of menu options from sushi to Thai to curry. We ordered Thai fried rice with chicken, crazy roll, shrimp tempura roll and a couple of noodle dishes. Everything was very good and flavourful and made to order! Waitress was alone and handled all tables like a pro and was very helpful. Only downside was the wait time for the food BUT it's worth it.

This is a quaint little restaurant on the highway. Run by what seems like a v tiny staff - Brandy and team - they are still extremely efficient and barely ever keep you waiting. They have so many vegan options. Brandy even told us that almost all options can be made vegan /vegetarian. She patiently answered our questions and was very specific about which options had fish oil etc. Overall, the food was simple and delicious and the service was kind. We got the tom yum (perfect blend of tangy and spicy) , the veg rolls were very yum, fried rice full of veggies. It’s nice to find a restaurant in a small town that even caters to vegans/vegetarians. Grateful🤩

This place was amazing. I had the red curry, and my husband had the chicken pad Thai. Yhe curry was the best I’ve ever had outside of Thailand. Some people complain on here about the wait time, but for fresh food- absolutely worth it (and not a crazy wait). We almost didn’t stop because of the negative reviews but I think some people just need something to complain about 🤷🏻‍♀️

This place is the best kept secret of Marathon. It's all excellent, the sushi, the curry, and the plum wine. Every visit to the Keys I make a point to eat here at least once, and it's always the Chicken Pineapple Curry. The building itself is a dive, located adjacent to a bait shop, and the restroom has seen better days, but ignore those things. They're not important. Just enjoy the best food on the island.

We came here the other night for dinner. The staff that seated us and took our order explained that everything was made to order and as such, it would take some time to prepare but meals could also be tailored exactly how we like it. We both ordered Panang curry however my wife doesn't care for zuchinni and asked for potatoes in it's place which they were happy to do. The restaurant was moderately busy with a steady flow of take out orders leaving and our dishes only took about 30 minutes to arrive. It was well worth the reasonable wait. This was some of the best Thai we've had in a very long time. It's a shame this place gets dinged for the wait time. We will never complain about having to wait for good, fresh food and the dishes here were delicious. Hard not to come back every night after during our stay on the island.

Delicious food! Some of the best we had our entire Florida trip! The pad Thai was great as well as the stir fry. Prices were reasonable. Gluten free options!

Super friendly staff. We caught a nice tuna and we ordered some Cali rolls, sushi rice, and seaweed salad to have us a smorgasbord of sushi: nigiri, sashimi, and "rainbow" rolls. They were very fairly priced, quick with the order, super polite and helpful. Highly recommend! We can't wait to explore more of their menu
