The beer was excellent, and a food ....wow the cheese dip is to die for.We had to take some home we cud not have had a better time. Lowe the atmosphere and again the best beer ever.
I have been here twice. The first time with husband I ordered chicken fried steak but I got chicken fried chicken. So I gave it a taste and I called the waitress told her what I received she apologized. I told her that was the best tasting mistake she made. The chicken was so tender I loved it!!
This Thursday was lunch with my mother and mom and I ordered the chicken fried chicken and still the best tasting tender chicken and great mashed potatoes with sweet potato fries.
She really enjoyed it.
The tea tasted sour but that's not going to stop me from enjoying my food. No I didn't tell the waiter about my tea.
Andy was very attentive and friendly.
If you like great pub style food, and in house brewed beer then you'll love this place as much as I.
Hands down best burgers in town. They also have their very own brewery. Which means lots of choices of in house brewed beer!
Great staff and an inviting atmosphere. Great for date nights, sunday lunchs with friends, and/or a family night out. Also Kid Friendly!
We were seated a full 6 mins before the staff saw us but when they did they were super apologetic and our waitress was super attentive we were compted with free wings and beer! The food was awesome and the vanilla Porter was amazing! Will def. eat here again and recommend!
I know this is crazy to say about a brewery, but the food was delicious. The beer was good, the food was better. Had the buffalo chicken sandwich with mac and cheese and it was amazing. Started with an appetizer of fried avocado with crab meat. Paired nicely with the blonde beer.
Wow!! Fantastic food. We had the crab stuffed avocados for an appetizer then my wife had the shrimp and grits. Great grub. The beers were great and the service was on point. Definitely a must when in Marble Falls! !
We stop EVERY time we pass through Marble Falls. We always receive great service. The shrimp and grits is the best ever and we love the watermelon wheat beer when it's available.
My first time there and really enjoyed it. We were with a big MINI car club group and y'all handled our group with greatness. Good food, good service & good beer 🍻. We'll be back. One thing would have been even better is if y'all had a gluten free menu for my husband. Even if it were a small one.
Wow! We are so impressed with the pulled pork sandwich, Mac and cheese, and southern hospitality sandwich! This place is amazing, the negative reviews were a shock to us. It was very affordable, delicious, and the wait staff were friendly and fast! We will be coming back! :)
Great food great beer friendly staff. Enjoyed it so much I ate there everyday I was in Marble Falls. One of the best steaks I've ever had and be sure to try the Buffalo burger with an 1855 beer. Awesome!
Awesome place!!. First, I do have to admit, this place wasn't the first on my list to have my dad's 70th birthday party. I know, I know. My dad favors another 'grill' by the River (ahem I won't name it) because he knows the owners but when I tried to get a reservation for a party of 30...I was completely shut down because they were already booked. I guess they can only do one party at a time. I was a little perturbed but remembered the great time we had the last time we went to Double Horn.
I was a little worried because I do not live in the area and my budget was a little tight. I emailed the establishment and received a positive response immediately from Dusty Knight. I then received a follow up call from the chef himself, Jason Harrelson, who commanded a menu that fit my budget. I have had to cater a lot of events in a prior life in the DFW area, and the service and attention I received setting up this small party was phenomenal. Jason was BEYOND accommodating.
We had a BBQ plate that was loaded with sausage, brisket and ribs. LOADED. We also had sides of beans, cole slaw, and potato salad. Now, about 5 people that night kept commenting on how great the food was. My aunt, who is the ultimate potato salad connoisseur, couldn't get enough of the potato salad. The cole slaw was a nice change from the normal cole slaw. It was another hit. There was nothing bad about the food.
Now, the service. Jason stayed through our dinner service and constantly checked on us to make sure we were okay. Our server for the night, Ryan M. made sure no one went without anything and kept our table in check. No one wanted for anything.
The next day my dad was still talking about how great the food was and how happy he was with the place. That in itself is priceless.
Food Great, Service Bad. Love the food, the sliders are especially delicious. But, they need a server retraining or something. Can't get iced tea or even draft beer refilled. Strange on service, I suggest sit at the bar and order food.
Good beer....yes, all of them. I had an appetizer and a burger that I did return for during my stay in Marble Falls.
Excellent food and service!
Great! Stopped in for lunch on a hot summer day. Has a glass of Guero wheat that was an excellent lite summer ale . Our sandwiches (ham and smoked cheese and the chicken salad) were perfect lite fare. Restaurant was very clean, waitstaff attentive but politely distant.... Recc highly.
Good Beer, stick to the Burgers. Nice brew pub and with a menu that veers too far from "Bar Food" and should head back to mainline of pub food.
The beer is really good and they have a nice selection, so you should find something you like on the board. Not too big with a small bar area for "Pub." We tried several items on the menu and felt the best they have to offer are on the appetizer and burger/sandwich sections of the menu. Of the two entrees, both were lacking and appeared to be something out of the comfort zone of the chef. That night they had a lamb special, and it was special only because it wasn't on the standard menu; other than that it wasn't work the calories, the Seared Pork Tenderloin was just "OK." However, the Flatbread was excellent, and the Pulled Pork Nachos were different but had great flavor and a nice twist. In a risky effort to see what they could do with eggplant and portabella mushrooms, I tried The Tuscan. I turned out very good, but the sauces made the bread too soggy to eat as a sandwich so I turned into a "Deconstructed Tuscan" and it was excellent.
Only complaint was the service, while attentive they could't seem to get the food prepared at the same time and rather than delivery while hot, they waited until it was all completed and then have the dishes were served at room temperature. Same thing happened with the appetizers. Hopefully they can get this together and overcome the shortcoming.
Nice surprise on the drive home. Driving through Marble Falls on our way home from Christmas, my wife suggested we stop at the Bluebonnet Cafe. Fortunately for me, they were closed. Right across the street is the Double Horn Brewing Company, and I can never turn down a brew pub.
Inside, the Double Horn is a nice, typical brew pub. The wait staff was extremely young, but very friendly and professional. We immediately ordered a flight of their four brew offerings:
Wheat Beer - clean, a little boring.
IPA - probably the least bitter IPA I've tried, more like a lager, but acceptable.
Porter - slight coffee flavor, light for a Porter, not much bitter, very enjoyable
Black IPA - Now we're talking beer. Nice hoppy bitterness, slight sweetness, clean finish, and a rich flavor.
The other offerings are OK but more like introductory beers for those that don't like beer. The Black IPA was excellent.
As for the food, we tried burgers. Both burgers had great flavor and were perfectly cook; very nice buns as well. The only disappointment was the Blue burger. It supposedly came with bleu cheese but it was so mild I couldn't pick up the flavor. It also came with sauteed mushrooms, which turned out to be canned mushrooms.
I wish we hadn't been in such a hurry. I would have liked to have a pint of the Black IPA and try some of the Pulled Pork Nachoes (served on kettle chips). But we will definitely swing by next time we're in Marble Falls.
It seems like there's a new brewpub opening every week out West, serving good, handcrafted beers. What's unusual about Double Horn is the sophisticated quality of the menu. Expecting burgers and fries, we were surprised by dishes like the Crabby Cado, above. Rich wedges of avocado are fried, then filled with lump Pacific crab salad and served on a bed of remoulade sauce dotted with sriracha. Simple, yet deliciously complex. Low Country Shrimp & Grits features a bed of impeccably creamy grits topped with large sauteed Gulf shrimp, sliced sweet peppers and onions, and tangy roasted tomatoes. A drizzle of green chile cream finishes the dish. The menu does have burgers with a twist, like this Bison Burger. The hand-formed bison patty is topped with bacon, warm blue cheese and Double Horn's own buffalo sauce - like a play on buffalo wings! Crispy sweet potato fries are on the side. Double Horn brews several varieties of their own beers (this one is th
Nice place! We stopped in here for a drink and ended up grabbing a bite to eat as well since the menu looked so good. They have a few cider options for us gluten free folks. The cranberry cider was great! The food was fresh and delicious and the wait staff was good!
We stopped to grab a beer and we ended having the fish and chips and the cowboy bison.
The fish was like old school, the entire filet so good!!! The burger was pretty tasty too.
One of the waitresses as soon as she knew we were sharing, she brought a big knife and a plate and at the end the guy who brought us the drinks asked us if we wanted something else and we said we just wanted 1 more, and he brought two smaller beer glasses… that was so sweet!!!
Family friendly.
I love going to new places and feel like they really care about customer service.
I would recommend it 100% and of course we will be back.
You wouldn't think anything of this place from the outside. Inside it has simple decor and friendly staff. I ordered the Double horn burger with the bison patties. The burger arrived with a soft but not soggy bun. I ordered medium rare and the burger came to me closer to medium than rare but that didn't affect me enjoying it. The burger was juicy, tasted great and their signature sauce was delicious. We also ordered the fish and chips. It looked wonderful but if you plan on cutting the fish with a knife, prepare for difficulty. The meals were served in a basket lined with butcher paper so you end up cutting straight through the paper. Make sure to ask it's served on a plate to avoid this. A small nitpick but doesn't affect the food quality at all.
Double Horn is well worth a stop if you are driving through Marble Falls. Went for the first time years back on a drive to San Antonio. Beer choices are great with a good variety. Food is fresh and service was friendly and accommodating. Dogs allowed on back patio.
Great selection of craft beers, plus guest beers. Tacos are fantastic. Food is fresh, staff are friendly. Would have given 5 stars but Staffing was short. It would be nice if this place stays open a little bit later it closes at 9. Seems like a lot of the restaurants in this town are struggling to be staffed with covid.
Nice dining experience with very friendly staff. All of our plates were enjoyed and our boys enjoyed playing darts while the food was being prepared. Didn't love the house made chips, but maybe they aren't always overcooked. $2.50 craft drafts on Tuesday was a nice surprise when we got the bill!
The food was excellent, the beers were just as great. I really enjoyed thier IPA's.
