Had a late lunch while on location today, looked at trusty Zomato and found this little jewel. The reviews were pretty solid so I rolled the dice. The location almost looked dangerous, tucked into the old strip mall of lavenderias and bail bondsmen, but I’m always willing to try a bowl of Phõ. Once inside, the crowd was me and a couple of other solos, and I wondered if I’d been duped by family and friend reviews. Turns out they close between four and 5:45 ( weird hours) and the crowd was just thinning out before closing.
The menu was pretty typical; beef, brisket, tendon, tripe. The very first item on the Phõ selection was a combo of all of these, so you KNOW I hit that. The tendon was very tender, and the tripe was delicious, both items let me know if the chef is authentic or not. In most joints like this, I wish they offered a smaller bowl, since the “regular” is often a bucket that I Nearly explode trying to finish! These folks do offer a small bowl, and I thought about it -but went with the regular since I was three hours into missing lunch -if you’re hangry, the regular will do. The XL is indeed a bucket..... the waiter pointed out one at a close by table....I don’t know who could actually finish that alone; maybe the gigantor with it in front of him.
Once my bowl arrived, it was just as I expected in every way; portion, broth, ingredients, and temperature (spicy and heat). Some reviewers have complained of skimpy portions of the meats, but I found it just right. The menu offers a meat portion upgrade for three bucks-I might do that myself next time, even though I enjoyed what I was served. I also really appreciated the sauce selection on the table - not just soy and Sriracha, but hoisin, chili paste, and few other home made flavors - excellent!
All in all, I will be back! This is the best Phõ on this side of town.....I normally have to venture all the way to Buford hiway to have a bowl this good, so I’m glad to have stumbled onto this spot.
July 15, 2017 · by willoughbyandy · in Asian, Atlanta (Outside the Perimeter), Georgia, Marietta / Kennesaw · Leave a comment. You could say that this pho was just what the doctor ordered. Well, kind of. The last time I saw my GP, we were talking about my diet and he asked if I liked Asian food. I mentioned where we had eaten recently and he said no, you need to go here, instead, for Vietnamese food. But "here" was a description – not a name- on Pat Mell Road, near the intersection with South Cobb Drive, behind a Hispanic tire store. Sounds simple enough…
Fantastic. Friendly and attentive staff. Egg rolls were the bomb. Fish sauce was delicious. The Pho was awesome. I'll be stopping here often.
Best Pho I've ever had! I highly recommend it! My favorite is the vegetable Pho. The restaurant is always very clean and the staff is friendly.
Debbie Denson the Pho is always delicious and service fast and friendly. I would recommend this to anyone who wants to break away from the norm.
Secret spot revealed. The bowls are big and delicious. Cheap too!!
Love it! Love it! What else can I say? Don't be swayed by its unremarkable location.
Great food but.... The servicecis slow. They are always understaffed. The lady cashier/waitress/store clerk cant do it all in an effective manner. They really need more help.....she .also runs the store next door and and does deliveries....sorry great foood but really....its badly run.
Great Pho and service. Their pho has a delicious broth and the service is fast and friendly. Seems to be run by a family and it is always busy. Always nice to be able to get a small bowl instead of medium or large like most places offer. Excellent prices.
The first time I came here with my fiancée the food and service was phenomenal! The server was very informative and happy to help us understand the menu. But the second time coming here we were a half hour before closing and our server was impatient and extremely rude. Even though the food is actually quite worth the frustration, I was quite tempted to leave anyways. Just be sure to come into this establishment before the real servers go home and leave you with pimply boys with a attitude to be left desired.
Great Attention to detail. I got there close to closing so they would only allow to-go orders. I hate getting Phở to-go, but I decided to order anyway. When I got the food back home I expected the beef to be well done and the noodles complete mush from having sat in the broth for 20 minutes. To my amazement, when I opened the package I found that they gave me a bowl of broth and bagged the raw beef and noodles separately. They also use the true vietnamese basil (long and grass like) instead of the italian looking basil. I poured the broth into a bowl and microwaved it, then added the other ingredients. The quality was wonderful. Just like in a restaurant but in my own home. The spring rolls were also amazing! Best I've ever had.
Great Pho! Asian grocery store is attached to the restaurant.
Love This Place!. I discovered this small little place when I first move to GA about 2 years ago. All I can say is the food is amazing!!! I try to go about once a week!! Their soups are great as well as their noodle and rice dishes. Give this place a try you will not be disappointed!!
