Probably some of THE best sashimi I’ve ever had. The fish was so soft and fresh. The spicy tuna roll was incredible, the rice was sticky and the fish was tasty and soft. They seemed short staffed so the service was pretty slow that evening but they were super apologetic and nice about it. Delicious sushi, would love to go again.
Come here for quality sushi in a very casual atmosphere. Friendly staff. Nice specials and a lot of seafood sourced from Japan, and the price is reasonable considering (not cheap but reasonable). Will be back!
COME HERE IF YOU WANT AN AUTHENTIC AND FRESH SUSHI EXPERIENCE!
I came on a Thursday night and while it was quiet, I was greeted immediately and sat immediately. The waiters and staff are very polite and attentive! I sat at the sushi bar and was fortunate enough to meet Gyu, one of the sushi chefs. I had the salmon belly, chu-toro, and yellowtail with fresh ground wasabi!
The flavors and portions blew me away. I was also fortunate to have the seared toro and uni that just blew my mind.
I think this place is a gem and is a very authentic establishment. Please give it a try!
A very special restaurant with amazing service and incredible sushi. I would definitely recommend this spot for the sushi bar, call ahead and reserve a spot at the bar so you can watch the masters in action. They offer a revolving menu with different fish most times we come based on season. The style is more typical Japanese in both service and food. So the items on the menu are a bit different to a lot of other American - Japanese places nearby.
Nozomi and Ken are wonderful, I hope you are lucky to have them! The place is a little unassuming but what they can plate up rivals some of the best. Usually between $50-100 per person depending on your taste and appetite. Come and I’m sure you’ll become one of the regulars who are always there!!
Very decent place. It has a bit of no frills look, but the service is excellent. The owner is there to greet you and seat you. He was very attentive to our needs, and managed to serve a decent omekase menu vegetarian style. Impressive they managed to do it without serving fish. Noise level pretty good and there is also a nice outdoors roof top area
First time here. Sat outside. Probably wouldn't drive from far away but we live just up the street.
Karage chick was yummy but we had to ask for a fun dipping sauce. Monk fish liver was delightful, but spendy compared to some of our other west side favorites.
Always love the gobo salad.
In the end, solid meal, but a little expensive compared to some of our usual haunts and not quite as special.
Fantastic service and super fresh fish. Delightful at both lunch and dinner times. Will be back!!

Update 2022: We returned almost 3 years later and it is still our favorite sushi restaurant here. The service is truly extraordinary. Taka is wonderful and takes the time to talk to his customers. All of our food was incredible. It's worth every penny.
2019: Would highly recommend! The sushi rolls were amazing! The CA roll was made with fresh fish, rather than the usual imitation crab. We could tell everything that we ordered was made fresh. The miso soup, the eggplant, the corn tempura, the rolls and edamame were delicious. One of the sushi chefs made us a special treat and it was much appreciated! The service was outstanding. We left wanting to go back.
Expert Japanese chefs prepare sushi dishes in the traditional authentic way w care and thought .. super fresh fish, everything is house made including the wasabi and fresh pickled ginger. A true neighborhood gem, this is worth the trip wherever you’re coming from!. The quality of the food and the friendly staff make for an awesome dining experience.

This was a really nice place. Friendly staff, the sushi was good and the prices were reasonable. They played jazz music from the speakers and the chefs seamed to love their job. You could sit, watch them working and I enyoed it.

Excellent spot in Marina del Rey. Service is awesome, Miyu is very professional and will advice you well. Fish is fresh, we tried sashimi, sushi, rolls and they were all delicious. We also had gyoza and eggplant and it was yummy. They have sake, beers and wine. We had green tea ice cream to finish this exquisite lunch. Arigato I will definitely come back and recommend.
Hands down my favorite sushi on the westside. Moto always has a fresh selection of daily specials, and the quality of the fish is in matched. Ken is the chef behind the bar most nights, it’s very fun to watch him work. Be sure to try the fresh scallops, the chawanmushi, and the chu toro.
I'm not a sushi aficionado -- I sat at the bar and received friendly instructions and detailed information. Of course it was also delicious!
Was blown away by the sampler at the sushi bar - super fresh, really delicious, and great service. Definitely recommend!
Clean authentic. Had the Omakase which came with amazing yellowtail sushi maki and with sushi from 6 fish and roe caviar and eel. Fantastic to be honest. Will come here again. Not cheap but not too ‘spensive either.
We loved this place! Generous pours on the beer sampler, delicious tan tan spicy udon and crispy miso chicken and black sesame ice cream, great service.
Love this place!! Great experience! Your very own great sushi chef at the sushi bar. Very accommodating and friendly staff. Incredibly fresh fish and ingredients 👌! Hands down the best sushi my wife and I have had.
Cozy and calm environment. Very friendly service from chef, owner, and servers. Food came out so quickly. Would definitely come back again
