I would give this place 10 stars if I could for the Sunday Brunch. Brunch was filled with so many food options-waffles, omelets, pasta, fresh seafood. On top of all the great food , there is continuous champagne poured into your glass. While drink & eating , you are consistently looking at the Marina waterfront. Everyone working there was wonderful, especially our waitress Jerry..She was so wonderful, kind , and so professional. She went out of her way to make sure we were okay..The best Birthday ever..Thanks Jerry, SHE WAS THE BEST

Service with a Smile!!!! Love the buffet & our waitress kept the Mirmosa’s coming...the outside & view were beautiful. A must do for those of you that have not experienced this atmosphere.
My hats off to the chef for the shrimp scampi meal and oyster dish it was delicious.. didn't care to much for the waitress who took our orders lol.
I can't even begin to tell you how amazing our experience was!
It was my birthday and Thomas was our server. First, and NOT the most common,v he removed the bird poop from our sunset view. I was sold out then! He was so accommodating! Never intrusive, but knew how to guage our vibe; it was a birthday celebration.
Not only would I return, but I'd ask for Thomas again and hope we can become his "regulars".
Thanks Thomas and Whiskey Reds for making my birthday so special!
Was there for Sunday Brunch with a very good friend, for my Birthday. The Weather on the patio was perfect. The food was wonderful, especially The Smoked Herring, Miso Fish, The Omelets and the Extra-Garlic-ee Mash Potatoes......Yaaaas.
And the variety of Sponge Cakes were Very Moist............ Only suggestion....... Bring Back the Pudding........
Fantastic brunch with Mamosa’s all you can drink. We got there about 12 PM and didn’t leave until 9 PM fantastic place on the water
Great place with terrific view. Long Island iced tea great. Great service from bar and wait staff. UCLA kid was nice. Lobster Roll was incredible but.....needed more lobster. Maybe ill order extra lobster next time. Worth it. The roll could have been awesome with garlic butter all over it too.
My first time! Love it! Will def go back! Great food choices and drink choices! Great view. Victor the Bartender is Great!
Shanghai Red's is now Whiskey Red's but the service, the view and the food are all still great!
Food Quality Down & Up & Up Some More. Great view. Excellent service on Sunday brunch buffet.
However, the food, which used to be good, is now fair - at best.
I've been a customer for many years and am very disappointed at the turn they've taken as they change their name to, of all things, Whiskey Red's. I'm interested in good food, good service, and good ambiance -- not in whiskey.
-- I've returned and found a significant improvement in the food. It could be even better, but at least they have fixed some of the problems I reported to them from the last visit. It's nice to know that someone's listening.
-- I've been back many times now. Great service at 9am on Sunday when I go and continues through 11:30 when I depart (starts getting noisy and crowded). View cannot be bettered. The food varies on the brunch buffet depending on what you like. On the last visit (7/6/14), the dessert bar was excellent. The steam tables had hot dogs and hamburgers left over from July 4. The pre-made salads were quite good.
If you like sushi, you'll be in sushi heaven there because they have Archie, the very picky sushi chef. He makes the kind with the rice on the outside and the nori in the middle.
I don't eat meat or fish and so cannot comment on those. They have a nice pasta bar and, of course, an omelet bar. There's something for everyone. Try whatever. If you don't like it, put your plate to the side and get something else. For me, it's a great place to unwind on Sunday morning after a long and hectic week.
Hubby and I were invited to a birthday dinner at Whiskey Red’s in Marina del Rey. Of course, I had to read reviews to see what people had to say. Unfortunately, I did come across many bad reviews, but that wasn’t going to change my mind because I had an invitation to celebrate a friend's birthday.
I’m glad I went despite the reviews. Our friend rented a private room right next to the water. It was nice to have a room to ourselves. The sunset was beautiful, and the whole vibe was great! There was a pre-fixed dinner planned for everyone, which included dinner rolls, Caesar salad, chicken with mashed potatoes and broccolini, and for dessert, cheesecake. Everything was actually really, really good! Both my hubby and I ate everything on our plates!
Hubby and I ordered drinks at the bar. The drinks weren’t the best, so we got one and done. I guess that would be my only issue. Parking is available right in front of the restaurant, and I believe it’s free of charge.
Whiskey Red’s is a nice restaurant with a lot of potential. It needs an upgrade, and once that happens, it can be even more amazing! It is a great place to host an event. If I come back, I would probably want to sit by one of the fire pits.
Went here last weekend on a date. Food was really good and served quickly.
Drinks were amazing.
One of the tables by the water opened up and I requested to be moved there.
The manager said, sorry I can't a group of 6 is coming.
We stayed there for about 2 hours max and we noticed no one ended up taking that table by the water.
Kinda bummed about that
Was just a little annoyed when we saw down it took them about 10 mins to take our order when all the people outside already had their food.
A group of girls next to us arrived 5 mins after and had their food ordered before us. I think one of the waitresses was training a new girl. Still not a good look.
Other than that the manager on the floor Daniel did his best to try to accommodate us, the food and the scenery was still worth it.
When visiting LA, i was taken here, since I'm a Foodie. I did not know what to expect for brunch, especially with the name "Whiskey Red". I imagined pub food. To my surprise, it was anything but that. There was a wide selection of seafood, meat, salads, desserts, and more. Not to mention champagnes and mimosas. The service was good, the food was fresh, the view spectacular. it was slightly pricey. Although I gave 4 stars, I would still recommend to try at least once. Afterwards take a stroll along the marina.
Sunset dinner. Service not bad. Food not bad. I've always liked this place back in the day. Will keep coming back with old and new friends. Love the view and relaxed ambience.
Great view. Enjoyed the outdoor dining. Heaters and umbrellas available. Not covered though. Food not bad. Only brunch menu available at time that we went (full menu available at 4pm on weekends, I think). Service good. Not rushed. Space around seating. LA prices for food. Parking is in a lot and metered (but meter wasn't working when we were there. Not sure if they still validate or not). Crowded day we went bc of a boat event.
