Everything was delicious! I swung by before heading back home, and eating here was honestly the highlight of my trip to Monterey! If I ever go back, it'll be to eat here.
I went a few days ago but because of covid there is still no indoor dining but when it opens up everyone needs to try this place out . Their teriyaki chicken is the best in town and their sushi really is simple but tasty just the way it should be !
The food here is top notch. I've had too many items to list and I would happily order any one again. I also always feel like I'm leaving with more food than I ordered. Super friendly, fast, clean, and affordable bordering on cheap.

First time last night....fast, super friendly, fair prices....we had an egg roll missing issue and they took care of it right away! And we saw a really good friend going there for his family too! Will do again for sure! Thank you New Tokyo!🍤
Food was, excellent. I never liked miso soup, but there's was perfect and so was their food...I had curry chicken with steamed rice and they serve you a little cabbage before the meal, oh, yea I also had me their tempura shrimp and veggies not sure what my friend had but bomb looking...must try!!!
Whenever we are in Marina, we always stop by for lunch or dinner. Usually Chirashi is my very favorite with all the wasabi I can have. Their ingredients are very fresh. There's a good selection of sushi, hand rolls and lunch box. Here we had tuna, spicy tuna, yellowtail, eel and shrimp tempura.
New Tokyo is an old favorite! Owners and proprietor's John and Mercy are excellent hosts and aim to please. I was a little disappointed we could not dine in. When we got home and opened our lunch boxes all was forgiven and forgotten. The food was still warm and portions plentiful as always. I have and will continue to recommend New Tokyo!
Seemed very fresh, the staff is very friendly and the service was excellent. Very reasonably priced as well. I will definitely eat here again
