If you like bagels you will have to try the bagel bites filled with cream cheese. YUM-MY! The cheddar filled with bacon cheddar and cinnamon raisin filled with honey walmut cream cheese are my personal favorites.

Every time we get to Martinsville we lood forward to stopping in at Rising Sun Bakery. Our favorites are the breads (especially the rosemary bread), bagels, muffins, cookies, and chicken salad. My favorite lunch is their chicken salad on their homemade bread. Hmmm! The staff is great, too. The shop is always sparkling clean and fresh. Great business. I love it!

Rising Sun is a great place to stop in and grab a sandwich for lunch and some frozen entrees for dinner along with a loaf of fresh bread. There are so many tempting treats too. I picked up a couple of loaves of their bread when I had family visiting and it was a treat for all of us. I also got an oven-ready apple pie that was very well received. None of it went to waste.
A delightful place for breakfast and brunch. Some indoor seating but for a small amount of guests. Cheerful service and they do have more of some items in the back. Breads made from scratch and other pastries. Looking for fresh bagels but the closest spot is 40 miles away? They have a limited amount of bagels here, so come in early. I'm sure if demand increases the store could become a bagel store with how good they were. I got 2 everything, a plain, and a salted. Here is hoping they make a PB or chocolate one soon. They were chewy, warm and soft. I also got a lemon bar which was tart and very sweet, you could taste the the baker's skill in every bite. Cinnamon roll was quite nice, exactly what you expect with that foamy icing top. Lastly the Cinnamon bread pudding really shines, would try it if you haven't. I'm so very delighted to have visited and will be back for sure!
A very nice bakery to buy what you need!! Even has cappuccino, coffee, and other drinks. Gifts for Christmas and many other delicious presents for friends or yourself!! The people there are very hospitable!! Very nice experience!! I will be back! Also, they have pre-made dinner in a fridge!! Yum!!
Thanks for being the only place in Martinsville where a good cup of coffee can be had! My sandwich was generous in portion and delicious. The COW bread (cranberry, oat, walnut) was amazing. Please open a franchise in York, Pennsylvania ;)
I was in the area just for an appointment. Had time for lunch beforehand so googled “Lunch near me”. I’m so glad this was the closest place. Great tasting food (and so much!) Everyone was kind and courteous. Wished I lived closer so I could make this a regular stop!
This is a real bakery with great bread and sweets, plus extras. My favorite bread is the sourdough. They serve lunch, and my favorite sandwich is their house-made chicken salad on cranberry-oat-walnut bread.
Excellent tuna salad on a croissant, pasta salad and large cookie. Slightly pricey for the area but much better than something like Subway. Friendly staff.
Wonderful breads and a great place to order birthday cakes. I haven't tried the takeaway meals yet, but if the quality is comparable to the cakes and breads, I'm in for a treat!
I love the cranberry and orange muffins. They are delectable when warmed and drizzled with real salted butter.
