I love this place. They have nailed the concept perfectly. The chef is on point. The creative menu and drinks leave me inspired. I never write reviews, but this place is my favorite sit down restaurant in McKinney, and I felt they should know!!
An outstanding experience here all around! They just changed to spring summer menu and it is a winner. Started with the Out of the Blue cocktail, their take on a Manhattan - smooth, flavorful and superb! Smoked Gouda Pimento Cheese Toast had really interesting ingredients and a hot finish, scallops and a corn risotto with poached lobster were delicious! The service is also top notch. Attentive, warm and professional without being overbearing. I also love that this is a smallish intimate place where you can actually have a conversation!
We returned to Rye for the reopening on their first Friday night dinner service and were delighted with the service, food and energy in the dining room. The new owners have done a great job at the relaunch. Not to be missed: the rib eye and sprouts, both so good we ordered more.

Amazing! The food is outstanding, the wait staff is superior, Manny, the bartender is the best of the best! Let him "concoct" something special for you! His imagination in mixology is remarkable! His Bloody Mary is the best I've ever had!

Service, cocktail menu, food quality, all 5 stars. Best food on the square. Sit at the bar if you're lucky enough to find a spot.
Had brunch there today, it was simply sublime. Wonderful cocktail and I had the "benny" . Their version of the classic eggs benedict. Eggs cooked perfectly , seasonings adding to the flavor rather than overpowering and some sauteed kale . It was really great..
We decided we couldn't decide when looking at the menu! We chose two appetizers and two sides to sample between two. We walked away FULL! And very satisfied! The Gouda bacon Mac and cheese and the corn casserole I would suggest the giggle water if you are thinking of a cocktail YUMMY. Historical building was great and our server was very attentive and friendly. Give it a 8/10. Will be back!
Best food and service. I will highly recommend this place.
Absolutely amazing food! We got the zucchini appetizer, the lobster entree and savory bread pudding. Just thinking about it makes me hungry. Nice atmosphere and great waitress! We can't wait to go back.
They are open again and the tasting menu we'r sampled was wonderful. Certainly up to previous standards, as was the friendly and caring owners and waitstaff.

We love Rye! Manny makes amazing hand crafted cocktails. Jewels is a fabulous attentive server. The farm to table food is incredible. We love the unique variety and atmosphere. Definitely one of our favs!
Even as a vegetarian, there was a great variety of options across starters (goat cheese stuffed peppadews), salads, entrees (risotto) and dessert (apple pie)... Loved the McKinney-style atmosphere, the friendliness of the entire staff and the food hit the spot. You can tell there was thought in every last detail bringing the whole experience together. Loved the "rye." branding ontop of the pisco sour... Nice touch! Thank you!
We have eaten at rye now 3 times and all has been to perfection to say the least. The mixology of the beverages, the service and sauces used are just as good as it gets. If you have not been it is a must go for great restaurants. You will not be disappointed. Zepps
What a great find. Outstanding staff, delicious food and great drink menu. Everyone in our party loved their dish.
The menu is constantly evolving as the seasons change. It's creative and fun with a few staples that leave the frequent dinners contemplating their classic favorite dish vs the hot new culinary creations on the menu. The bar is small but well stocked with something for everyone. Try the signature house crafted drinks cocktails for a real treat. You can go wrong here.
In recent blog posts, I have described what a great destination Downtown McKinney has become, especially for foodies. Several new restaurants have opened on the Square and one can easily find delicious restaurants with a variety of cuisines. Earlier this year, Rye. Craft Food and Drink, opened in between Square Burger and Bien Salsa. Since it has opened, my family has had the opportunity to eat there a couple of times and we have been impressed on both occasions. Below are some items that I have tried and my opinions of them:
I cannot say enough good things about Rye. The location in McKinney square is easy to get to and the restaurant it self is intimate and cozy. The food is beyond amazing, anything you order you will be happy with. The staff is excellent and the owner Tanner is very kind and accommodating. If you are looking for a unique and delicious dining experience, come to Rye!
Such a lovely and cozy atmosphere. The food was beyond anything I had expected. So delicious and unique. The staff and owner were so very kind and took such great care of us. I can't wait to take everyone here. Save room for dessert too....just wow. New favorite.
The new rye is fantastic. Everything we tried was fantastic. Our favorites were the lasagna, steak, and pork belly lollipops. They all had fancier names than that, but I can't remember them. Each had a fantastic flavor and were very unique. Definitely want to go back to try more from rye!
Our food and drinks that we got to-go were delicious! They have a great charcuterie board and the smoked chicken salad sandwich was fresh and delicious (and came with homemade pickles, yum!) If you are looking for a place to eat with real, fresh ingredients made from hard-working people, give them a try!
Fantastic food and service. The beet and bleat lasagna, pork belly lollipops, and steak dish were all so delicious. Rounded off our meal with homemade pandan ice cream and the peanut butter jelly thyme dessert. Wonderful evening as we celebrated our last night of just the two of us before our first baby arrives.
Love love love the experience! The food and drink were simply fantastic.
The only thing I have to say is that given covid, I wish the restaurant would have complied with the guidelines and not packed the place and every table with guests given the intimate setting! We are required to make a reservation to dine there anyway..
I would go there again and again but perhaps after the covid situationis more under control.
Hands Down the best tasting food in Collin County. Sampled nearly everything on our vist. Each dish was unique and delicious for its own reasons. Don't miss out!
This place right here! Wow! What a small little gem. The food was absolutely incredible. This was our first time to dine but definitely not our last.
