This place is amazing! Love middle eastern food and have eaten lots of kabob. This place takes the cake! The service was amazing and the lamb was the juiciest I’ve ever tasted!

Super friendly staff and the food is on point. If you want some traditional persian flavors and dishes, this is the place. There are other persian restaurants in northern Virginia that have good quality food but Amoo's has carved out their own place. Prices are definitely reasonable. I took my fiance there for her birthday (it's her favorite restaurant and she's not even Iranian) and my bill was $45. My only complaint is that the restaurant isn't big enough to accommodate guests all the time but that's a good problem to have.

Persian organic feasts!! This is truly one of the best restaurants I've ever been to in my life. Chef Sebastian and his family are so warm and make you feel like part of the family. From the moment you step into this little gem of a restaurant, your senses become enticed with all the pretty colors of the artwork on the walls, the cheery atmosphere and of course the AROMA, oh my goodness! Saffron and exotic spices will leave your mouth watering until the dishes arrive. I have tried EVERY SINGLE THING on the menu (which Chef Sebastian keeps adding savory seasonal dishes to) and I am addicted to ALL the food. All of it! The meats are divine and melt in your mouth, from the fish to the beef, chicken, lamb and goat dishes. The wonderful appetizers with all fresh ingredients introduce you to the splendors of Persian cuisine with Chef Sebastian's own personal, genius flair. Don't forge to order dessert which will leave you obsessing about when you will return for more. I can't rave about this place enough, my friends and I are there at least twice a week and we love, love, love the food and soul-happy atmosphere.

Not only do you get the right proportion of food, the presentation is also superb! All these on top of the most delicious Persian food this side of Northern Virginia. The server is also very gracious and polite. Truly excellent, in all aspects! Highly recommended not only for those who delight in Persian food, but in food in general. I can't wait for my next visit.

Excellent Persian cuisine. I love the yogurt drink dough, especially Amoos. Also have a large menu. It is fun trying out a new dish every time.

My husband and I came on the first day of snow this year and fell in love with their autumn/winter-only dishes, Kadoo (braised lamb shank served in acorn squash) and Laboo (roasted beet salad in pomegranate basil sauce). The lamb shank was fork tender cooked in their amazing sauce. The beet salad was sweet and sour, very appetizing! Just finished dinner at Amoos with 2 other friends and I cannot sing their praises enough. Chef Seb and his father were the most welcoming and hospitable hosts I've ever come across, providing a truly delightful experience from the start. I am of Persian descent and have notoriously high standards when it comes to authentic cuisine (I even joked about this on the uber ride to the restaurant) but Amoos surpassed all expectations in quality, taste, presentation, and attentive service. Everything we enjoyed (which included koobideh, pomegranate lamb, citrus salmon, braised goat shank, and saffron ice cream) was locally sourced and made fresh in house. I can't wait to come back when I'm in town!

Simply the best kabobs in all of Northern VA. I have never had a dish that did not feel like so much care and attention was put into it. It is hard to pick a favorite but the sea bass is just exceptional and not just for a kabob restaurant but of any place I have dined. I'm also addicted to the green sauce! And last, the owners and employees are warm, wonderful people who make you feel like family. They are so grateful to have your business. I hope they are around for a very long time. Now if only I can get the name and recipe for the green sauce!

Absolutely the best kobeedah Kebobs ever! So juicy and tender and consistent with taste every single time; they have truly perfected the recipe. Saffron icecream is also a must. Sorry posting the pics of almost finished icecream. Hoping they can move to a bigger space so they can accommodate larger groups and reservations

The DMV area is full with persian restaurants. Amoo’s is definitely one of those that deserve visiting more than once. I came with a friend lately on a cold November night. The coziness of the place together with the friendly staff gave me a feeling of warmth. The wine menu added to this warmth. The food was great as we had the barg soltani and the ghormeh sabzi stew. Will definitely come back to this place

Amoo Restaurant in Virginia is a culinary gem that transports diners to the heart of Iran with its exquisite Persian cuisine. From the moment you step inside, the ambiance is warm and inviting, setting the stage for an unforgettable dining experience. The star of the show at Amoo is undeniably the food. The menu boasts an array of Persian delights, each dish bursting with flavor and authenticity. Whether you're a fan of succulent kebabs, aromatic rice dishes, or hearty stews, there's something to satisfy every palate. The Saffron Chicken and the Koobideh Kebabs are standout favorites, perfectly grilled and seasoned to perfection. What truly sets Amoo apart is the attention to detail and commitment to using high-quality ingredients. The saffron-infused rice is fluffy and fragrant, and the herbs and spices are expertly blended to create a symphony of flavors. Pair your meal with a traditional Persian beverage like Doogh or enjoy a sweet ending with their decadent baklava. Service at Amoo is exceptional, with a friendly and knowledgeable staff eager to guide you through the menu. The cozy, intimate atmosphere makes it an ideal spot for a romantic dinner or a special celebration. In conclusion, Amoo Restaurant in Virginia is a hidden treasure for food enthusiasts seeking an authentic Persian dining experience. The combination of delicious cuisine, warm ambiance, and attentive service makes it a must-visit destination for anyone looking to savor the flavors of Iran.

Absolutely genuine Iranian food. They have the impossible koobideh which is something every vegan kebab lover wants. A decent variety of vegetarian options and you get your food quickly. They also have a great beer and wine menu. Our server however never even brought us water which was very strange especially in an Iranian restaurant! The owner/manager was very kind and polite. Strongly recommend and hope to visit again.

Very good food and friendly service. This small restaurant deserves a visit and a visit and again and again and again. We had barg and koobideh, lamb, and two stews, one with tahdig. Kabobs and stews are both great. Chinese cuisine has similar dish too, you let the sauce soak the crispy rice. The Mahicheh was cooked perfectly well. Meat separates from the bone upon touch, juice and flavorful. Dished are of larger portions. Even the rice are tasty. Finish the meal with some saffron ice cream.

Best Iranian cuisine I tried. Small and elegant venue. Reserve your table ahead. Staff seem to be on the rush though. Our favorite is the Bakhtiari which is a flattened beef tenderloin wrapped in ground beef & lamb and served with basmati rice. I have never seen it served in any Iranian restaurant before. Their Zereshk Polo has saffron glazed barberries which is a must try. Chicken is so tender too. We ordered a tea pot that works well after the meal. Saffron ice cream has a unique taste and texture. Our Ashe soup was missed due to the rush. We will come back again for sure.

Food was greatness. Had the pesto chicken kabob and bison tenderloin. Finished it off with the saffron ice cream. Will be coming back to try the other dishes and might bring a group of people. Definitely a spot to share the food. Our waitress and host were excellent.

Delicious authentic Iranian food! We ordered and absolutely loved the delicious fasenjan or chicken braised in pomegranate walnut sauce, whole grilled mediterranean bass with saffron rice, Iranian tea, and saffron ice cream. The chicken and fish were both tender, juicy and cooked to perfection! Our server Fatima was very sweet and guided me through the menu. The ambiance is very cozy too. Must try!

Best Persian Cuisine around hands down!!! Love this place and the owner Mr Owesi (Sp?). The food is spectacular with rich flavors and amazing presentation. I love everything on the menu! Of course some on my absolute favorites are the Gormezabzi on Tadig, Kubide with rice, and the grand finally of Zafron ice cream to cleanse the palate 😊. I would eat there everyday if I could. Highly recommend this restaurant if you’re looking for savory traditional Persian food with a touch of class from the owner. He always welcome you open arms like a friend you’ve know your whole life. Truly amazing!

As a fan of Shamshiry and Persian food in general, I decided I needed to try Amoo’s given it’s popularity. And it did not disappoint. Stepping into the place, it was easy to tell this was a Persian establishment from all the decor. It’s a true experience. We started with the hummus and the Shirazi Salad, both I’d recommend. I’d definitely want to try some of the eggplant dishes next time. These were served wifh some warm pita and an excellent green sauce. I could have that sauce with anything. As for the main meals, we got the koobideh with the Shirin Polo rice and the Fesenjan stew. I highly recommend going with either of these dishes. You should definitely get a kabob and stew to really experience both types of Persian cuisine. We finished up dinner with some saffron ice cream, which had a truly beautiful color and taste. You need to get this homemade Persian delicacy. Although I really like Shamshiry, I think I prefer here more so, especially give the greater number of options. Shamshiry has more of a scene, but this has more of a home feeling. And the staff here is incredibly friendly, which is always great to see.
