The food here is on point. Red Shrimp sushi is nice and sweet. The flavor of Chicken Negimaki was amazing. The miso soup was great. The staff is very nice and attentive. This is what an introduction of Japanese food should be.
Absolutely amazingly fresh seafood here. I highly recommend this place and will surely return. Try the uni!
I have eaten sushi all over the world and with the exception of Jiro's in Tokyo and two restaurants, one in Osaka and one in NYC that have unfortunately closed in the last couple of years, this is my favorite in the world.
Ask for the Omakasi. Let the chef decide.
Nice sushi and reasonably price. There are so many different things on the menu i am tempted to order but I always get the sushi. I'll have to try something different next time.
Fresh ingredients, excellent flavor and quality, prompt and courteous service, even on their busiest nights. We've enjoyed Tachibana for 20+ years. My Japanese mother said it's the only food at least as good as her own. No higher praise.
I have been taking family and friends there for years and it is the best quality/value in the entire D.C. region by far. Cheers.

One of the best Authentic Japanese restaurants in the area! Wonderful food, professional staff and parking lot!
Delicious food & great service! Decent atmosphere, too.
Sushi was wonderful, great value for the quality, especially for a weekend lunch
Had a fantastic lunch today. Thank you for creating a wonderful sushi experience with great service. And thank you also for having imaginative and varied specials that keep it interesting and delicious!!!
The best quality and value in all DC area. Tachibana has been in the area(Arlington and now McLean) for over 30+ years. They get their fresh deliveries in twice a week: Tuesday afternoons and Friday afternoons. My favorite is the fresh live scallops from Maine. They are very popular and run out often, during the week, if myna and only chief complaint, but they know this already:)
Great food and we really enjoyed our dinners. So 59 words for something that should not have a minimum.
Our favorite sushi restaurant for over 20 years. Fresh fish, authentic flavors, terrific service. We celebrate every family success at Tachibana!
Does not sacrifice quality for value - thick cuts of sashimi and a great chirashi bowl
Best Sushi ever, and that's saying a lot in the DC metro area.
Best sushi in the DC Metro area.
Just love Tachibana. The reception is pleasant and very much what you'd expect. The food is simply the best Japanese I have had, outside of Japan. It is kid friendly and family oriented but also a perfect date night option. It is popular, and every time I've been there, it is a 15 to 20 minute wait. But don't be discouraged, put your name on the list and just relax, it is worth the time.
Returned for another dinner and added extra photos. Again, the service was excellent and we tried the ramen, which was very good. The box meal was larger than we expected.
Some of the most authentic sushi you can eat in the DMV. The sushi is fresh and flavorful, and serving sizes are reasonable. Only downside is there can sometimes be a long line to get in and they seem to get slowed down by online orders... Would recommend going right when they open at noon for lunch
Go to NoVa spot for sushi and sashimi. This was actually my first time but my friends have been talking about it for years. The ikura with quail egg was something lives rent free in my head now, along with the spicy scallop roll
It is an authentic Japanese restaurant!
I especially enjoyed their bento lunch ✨ which is usually offered on weekdays.
There are two bento options. The difference is that Set B contains California rolls and steamed dumplings compared to a bowl of rice in Set A.
Honestly I'm not a fan of those dumplings, but the California rolls were good.
As there were a variety of ingredients including Tempura set, grilled salmon, yakitori and so on, the bento did satisfy my appetite for Japanese food! 🙌🏻
I visited here with my girlfriend.
As u see, Food is fresh and tasty.
Waitress, I don't know her name. She is very kind, smiling all the time. She made us happy. Thank u
5/5!
I had an excellent experience here at Tachibana. The food was absolutely amazing and the service was very good! The restaurant is located upstairs in a small building, and there is a decent amount of parking space as well. The restaurant is decorated nicely and gives a very authentic feel.
The Food: The food was delicious here! My friends and I ordered a couple of appetizers and sushi, and we all thoroughly enjoyed our meal. For the table, we had the Croquette and Pork Gyoza. Both appetizers were delicious. Especially the Gyoza, the meat ratio was good and the flavor of the filling was very authentic. For sushi, I went with the Spicy Tuna, Spicy Salmon, Hamanegi (Yellowtail) Roll and the Smoked Salmon Roll. All four rolls were delicious! The quality of the fish was excellent, and each bite was incredibly buttery and soft. The sear on the salmon had a very nice flavor to it as well.
The Service: The service was very good. The host and staff were very kind and attentive. Water refills were on point! Which is a huge thing.
The Atmosphere: The restaurant itself was nice! The decor had a very authentic Japanese feel and was clean. There was plenty of space for seating as well.
Overall, a 5/5! This is definitely one of my top sushi restaurants in the area. I'd highly give this a recommendation if you're looking for some quality sushi.
Food: 5/5
Service: 4.5/5
Amazing authentic food. Reminded me of the incredible quality of food/service you get in Japan. The restaurant was busy, so the service was a little slow, but the food makes up for everything. All food was DELICIOUS.
Recommendations: Fried Oysters, Dinner Bento, Sukiyaki, Salmon Donburi. All Sushi is high quality.
Hands down the best sushi in metro area, I can confidently say they are one of the best in the country. Everything is off top-notch quality ambience is very traditional and servers are very courteous, have been going over there for a decade now.
Americans - would you like to know what an AUTHENTIC Japanese restaurant is? It is this place. This is the real deal. Most Americans who haven't lived in Japan don't know the difference. I do. It is not just the sushi, the whole menu is as if I was back in Japan. Forget those regular "Asian" restaurants or "Japanese " Steakhouses. Tachibana is probably the best we have in this region outside of NYC. GO. And learn the difference. If I lived closer I'd be there once a week....maybe more.
Went here with friends for lunch and it was quite busy but parking was not an issue. The customer service is great and the staff are really friendly but really busy so make sure to get your order in fast. The presentation of the food is great and the taste as well. The food comes out to you pretty quickly, maybe a 10-15 mins wait time depending on when you show up. Would definitely go here again as it was an enjoyable experience.
