I celebrated my birthday earlier this evening in this great place. happy to tell that it was a awesome evening and the restaurant was clearly the reason for the successful gathering. The waiters helped in a splendid way, the food was delicious and my buddies were very cheerful. We shall surely come back again for more celebrations. Thank you very much.

First time here. Was not impressed at all. I was told upon ordering over the phone. "That Will be ready in 15 minutes." So I got there late by 5 minutes. So, I got there 20 minutes later after ordering. Then watching the clock on my phone. I waited an extra 26 minutes for my food. Upon getting the food and getting to where we were staying with family. I found that the meat actually tasted off. It had a odd taste. It was definitely not fresh or even close. I bought the biggest burger on the menu. I was hungry. I was sad it looked good. I (sadly) threw it in the trash. I went to bed hungry. I just really wanted a downhome burger. Funny thing that happened while I was there. A family got there before me. I found out had only ordered four ice cream cones, nothing else. I watched them wait for 17 minutes for four ice cream cones, Three of them were single scoop, one was two scoops. 17 minutes for a worker to make those. Truly this place needs better management. I normally don't post negative reviews but this place was shocking. Are vocals truly used to this?

Mom & pops burger/real ice cream shop. Just bought myself lunch. Delicious bacon/burger with a coke. Old fashion eatery with 50/60 decor. Elvis, James Dean & Marilyn Monroe. Don't forget monkeys everywhere. Good burger 🍔. I will b back.

The guy there was awesome. He was very engaging to not just me (over the phone and in person) but to my kids as well. Asking them specifically what they'd like. Let's not forget the cook, even though he was behind the scenes he showed he cared about the customers.

My friend and I stopped here to get some birthday ice cream. The service was very friendly and fast. I tried the banana and licorice and it made a surprisingly delicious combination.

Came in today for lunch with my mother and two boys. The food was descent but the service was horrible. It was an inconvenience to the lady who took our order for me to read the favors of ice cream to my son. She was so frustrated by it she slammed down the pad and pen she was using to take our order. Needless you to say, I will never bring my business here again.

Outta town visitor. Let me preface this review by stating just how excited we were to try out Alf's. We had heard GREAT things from the locals as well as Urbanspoon. I must admit, I had let myself get a tad too excited regarding the Monkey. I had been dreaming all day at work of the possibilities: could the monkey (Elvis), possibly be our server? could he cook? would he be performing cool tricks?? However, my delusions of grandeur quickly came crashing down upon arrival -- ELVIS WAS NOT THERE! Be warned, the monkey is not always present and "works" only when dropped off. <br/><br/>Furthermore, the burgers were nothing to brag about. Small in size and lacking anything extraordinary I would take a burger from five guys in a heartbeat over this. I must add my co-workers claim the milkshakes were above-average; however, I was too flustered of the lack of a monkey to attempt to order one.<br/><br/>p.s. I cannot stress the level of letdown of there being no monkey.

This place is just amazing!! Everything is so fresh and delicious! They cook it right when you order it. Well worth the wait! Try the grilled chicken bacon ranch sandwich and the fried pickles! Mmmmmm we will keep coming back!

One of a Kind. Okay, where else in Oregon can you chow down on an elk burger and a hazelnut shake in the company of a monkey? Nowhere else my friend. That's what we like about Alf's. Kind of a crazy, one of a kind place. Oh, and there is also the "All Day Burger" which I have never quite had the appetite for. We saw a couple split one when we were there the other day, passing through McMinnville. Even half would be too much for me. Our party of three had an elk burger, a halibut burger, sweet potato fries and we all shared one hazelnut shake. The shake is made with real crushed hazelnuts like the kind they grow around these parts. None of that fake hazelnut flavoring. If I have one complaint about Alf's it's that it is really getting a little too grungy. If I were the owner, I would close the place down for a week for a thorough cleaning and paint job (especially the monkey cage). Maybe get rid of some the clutter on the walls that has accumulated through the years. I think it would be good for business. The grunge factor is probably a little off-putting to some who have never been here before and expect a higher standard of cleanliness.

Just ordered a kids cone as I didn't want a big one but to my surprise for a $1.80 I got an ice cube size scoop of ice cream. It was a huge rip off. Should have been no more then .99 cents or even less.

Ice cream was good...service, eh.. Driving through McMinnville over the weekend we noticed Alf's and their "Homemade Ice Cream" sign. I got the Hazelnut ice cream and my husband got a hot fudge sundae. They were delicious! We would like to go back and try a burger next time. There weren't any tables available inside, but plenty of seating outside...and it was covered. Actually, there was one table that was empty except for a cell phone that was charging on top of it. <br/>The girl behind the counter taking our order was less than friendly. She almost seemed irritated that I didn't tell her that we were only ordering ice cream before she picked up her pen. She also answered the phone in the middle of taking our order and didn't even say "excuse me" or anything. It was a bit rude. In any case, I'll look over the not so friendly service to try out other things on the menu. At least I didn't have to leave a tip.

The food was great, will definitely visit quite a bit during my time at Linfield, service was eh but the monkey made up for it, for you California people it is no in n out or anything but it is a great hamburger they have a hamburger with my name : )

Didn't Like.... We stopped at Alf's based on a friend's recommendation. We were in a group of eight adults and no one particularly enjoyed their burgers or sandwiches. If you have a burger stay away from the nasty processed cheese, yuck. Those that ordered milkshakes seemed to like them. Can't say I would go back and try anything else.

Great place to eat. I have to say that the monkey adds to it all. I used to go there when I was a kid and I really enjoyed watching the monkey. Also, the monkey is a family pet they take him home at the end of the day and he isnt always there. <br/><br/>GREAT food for a great price!
