For reasons completely out of management's control (ie. COVID), service was not good, BUT the girl waiting on us was as nice and accommodating as she had time to be. Food was wonderful π. Pic is of turkey croissant sandwich with fries - oh wait, WHAT? Oh wow - I'm at IHOP - I should have ordered hashbrowns π€¦ββοΈ !!! Well, we'll just have to go back π.
Now that we've started venturing out more due to relaxations in COVID restrictions, we've been coming here frequently for breakfast. This is by far my favorite chain for breakfast for several reasons. Food is good, portions are right-sized, and it's not overly expensive for a sit down breakfast. Most important however, is probably they are open every day early, and on holidays.
One complaint - they took the Country Omelet, my favorite, off the menu,
They do have a Build-Your-Own, which suffices.
On our last visit, I had a build-your-own omelet with ham, cheese and onions/peppers. It was large enough, with plenty of filling and comes with pancakes or grits - and their grits are usually quite nice - firm, not watery.
My wife had the chocolate chip buttermilk pancakes, but said their were too few chocolate chips.
I find their coffee to be within my "likable" zone of strength, but not as strong as I like my coffee. With a good shot of espresso being a 10, it's probably a 6 or so.
Staff is always friendly, restaurant is always clean. Being near 295, they do get busy on the weekends after 9am or so, if you're going get there earlier.
If you're coming from Richmond, or 295, the entry can be tricky due to the layout of 360 right there. You'll have to U Turn at the light and go back, and only the outermost left lane can U Turn.
We had the best service from Olga! She was attentive and so sweet during our time there. The food was amazing. The picture above is from the new Christmas pancakes (cranberry pancakes π₯ π).
It was a bit frustrating doing curbside pickup. I received a text that my car was seen and they knew I arrived, but was informed in the message that I need to park in the correct curbside parking. I do so, with my toddler in the back. We wait a few minutes and then I call the number for curbside. First I get a busy tone then I get absolutely disconnected saying the number is not in service. After 10 minutes, I get my toddler out of his car seat and put on my mask to get our food. I tried hard to keep away from folks even when I was asked how I was doing by the very friendly manager who walked out to help us with our food. We had been sick for weeks so I was trying to be careful... Hence the plan to do curbside pickup/minimize potential exposure. The food is very good and really easy to order on the app. Again the staff was friendly. I do hope the issue with curbside pickup could be resolved! My son was late to his nap because I couldn't get him back in his car seat. That meant that we walked around the building and then ate in the car- after I had said I didn't need utensils... Good thing I keep some in my car in case. Anyway, overall it was great, but the curbside option doesn't feel like a real option for people who depend on that type of option.
When we pulled in and couldn't find a parking spot Saturday morning I anticipated a long wait. I was completely wrong, our party of 3 was seated right away. I had the spicy shredded beef bowl. It was surprisingly great! I should have ordered a side of pancakes to go with it, instead of hash browns, as the base of the bowl is hash browns. Next time. My nephew loved the gluten free waffle.
We used to eat here frequently years ago and the staffing went down hill. It has been at least 2 years but we tried it again and it was fantastic. Very bustling, clean facility, friendly competent staff. Kudos to the new manager. This team knows what they are doing.
Perfect place for a nice breakfast and just a quiet A.M. alone. Staff was very friendly and polite. Food was delicious and prepared quickly.
I would say an above average IHOP experience! Far less waiting compared to other locations on a Sunday morning. As far as the food is concerned, nothing special there just typical IHOP grub.
