Amazing food and service! The dill pickle soup was so delicious. Everything was a culinary delight. Highly recommend.

Great experience! Everything was delicious and felt like home. I’m from Ukraine so S&S Restaurant hit the spot. Elizabeth, our server, was very sweet and treated us like family! Too bad we haven’t tried this place before! Will be returning very very soon 😀

Our son requested S&S for his 30th birthday.
We had the cabbage soup, Herring appetizer, Baked Ribs w/sauerkraut, Chicken Salt & Sweet and Outlaw's Potato Pancake.
Everything was excellent! The ladies who work there were wonderful too.

Okay, so I've been to Salt & Sweet a few times. Here are my thoughts:
First and foremost, the food is fantastic. I've never had something there that wasn't delicious. This is where the restaurant shines and is the only reason I give them 4 stars. However, the service and atmosphere has been questionable at times.
The restaurant does not require reservations. However, if you walk in for dinner without a reservation, even with 50+% of tables unoccupied, they will warn you that "it may take a while to get your food."
There are only two servers and perhaps one or two kitchen staff, so the place operates like an old school mom and pop restaurant. Unfortunately, the servers may make you feel unwelcome for no apparent reason at all. Seems as though they don't want the restaurant to be busy.
You may also hear screaming and crashing pots and pans in the kitchen at various times. It's obvious the staff are not very happy to be there preparing and serving the delicious food.
After you finish your meal, you may also have to wait an unnecessarily long time to receive and pay your bill. Last time I was there, my party and several others were essentially "held hostage" waiting for the server to provide the bill and take payment. After 15 minutes of waiting for the bill, I had to stand up and walk to the register area to get the server's attention and complete the transaction.
Overall, I'd recommend this place for the food, but the service is generally poor. It's a shame because this place could be incredible and would appeal to a broader (younger) customer base if they could improve the hospitality and service.

I had the Russian style perogies, which were awesome and my husband had the beef stuffed with dill pickles and red peppers, which he enjoyed. Both dinners were more than we could finish, so take home boxes. They box up your food for you, nice touch. We also had the Apple cake with vanilla ice cream, very good. The cake was warm so the ice cream melted perfectly! The service was a little slow but there was only 2 waitresses. We weren't in a hurry so didn't bother us. Will definitely be back.

This was my first meal at Salt and Sweet. I chose the sampler for lunch. It was a generous portion of savory dishes and arrived hot from the kitchen. I started with the tomato soup which was lovely if not a bit on the salty side. The service was warm and professional. I'd like to return again for dinner another time, when they're serving lamb shank (which was not available on the lunch menu). It was a lovely find in this part of town, and an above average dining experience.

Very good! We tried the sampler and Zrazy Polskie. Out of everything we enjoyed the keilbasa and pierogis the most. Also, the white bean soup had excellent flavor.

Anyone who knows how amazingly delicious authentic Polish food is will absolutely love this restaurant. Everything is homemade, fresh, perfectly prepared and well seasoned. Close your eyes are you are dining in Krakow. Absolutely love it!

Very flavorful menu choices. Tried the pierogies and they were quite good. I had pickle soup, which was delicious. It tasted like it had a cabbage base. For my main course I ordered the Outlaw Pancake, which was a large potato pancake smothered with pork goulash. It was wonderful. I had apple cake for dessert, very underwhelming. Service was very good and food reasonably priced.

Just discovered this little gem today. Food is awesome, Olga was very attentive. Prices are very reasonable. The decor is charming. We had a very relaxing lunch. We shall definitely be returning here. Wish there was an option to give it a 10 star rating.

Salt and Sweet is one of my favorites. First off, you have to understand what it is. You don't get culinary art for $14.95 a plate. Salt and Sweet is good continental cuisine at an affordable price. It is authentic. It is well prepared. The atmosphere is adorable. And the service has always been excellent in my many visits. I love the golumpki, but I usually order the combination platter because I like the pirogis and kielbasa as well. The cabbage soup is to die for.

Very disappointing!!!! Friday night and we were the only ones in the restaurant. For a fine dining restaurant this establishment is very over rated! Salad is only ice burg lettuce, nothing else except the dressing. After a miss communication from the rudest server I have ever come across, I finally was brought the sweet and salty chicken I ordered. The sauce had no flavor at all. It was served with can pineapple slices and frozen broccoli as one of the sides--- this is supposed to be fine dining????
When the bill came she charged me $12.95 for a piece of plain chicken and three pieces of lettuce on the side on top of the $16.95 or the dinner I order. No customer service at all. Husband did not eat half of the special he order. Not impressed at all!!! Would not recommend this restaurant to anyone!!!!!!!

This is a hole-in-the wall Small business that will blow you away. They serve authentic Polish food and every item we have ordered between multiple visits has exceeded expectations. It is very easy to miss in the middle of a plaza on the busy Wickham road, but it is well worth going to. I don't return to many restaurants regularly since I prefer to explore and try new things. This is one of the few that I will go back to regularly to enjoy.

Very good Polish Food!. This is Great polish food at a place our Friend's told us about in Melbourne. Perogies and the Pickle Soup were excellent. The Service was very good. Would totally go back here when we move here.

Best service anywhere. This place has excellent Polish food, a great atmosphere, and an attentive wait staff. Come here with a group of friends when you have time and want to sit, enjoy some wine, and eat. They don't rush you out, nor do they leave your drinks empty at any time. Great food and service, just great!!

Sweet and Salt, what a delight!. We were a party of four eating at a new restaurant with cuisine we were not familiar with.

Sweet and Salt restaurant was a delight in service and in food quality. All four of us were pleasantly surprised by the variety of tastes offered and the quality of each plate.

Our meal consisted of an appetizer of mozzarella in olive oil and seasonings with a slice of tomato as the bed.

For main entrées, we chose the Polish sampler plate and the Outlaws potato pancakes.

We also ordered a plate of perogies for the table, both Russian and Polish style.

The meals were outstanding, as was the service. We highly recommend this restaurant to anyone either seeking new flavors or already familiar with Polish cuisine.

Wonderful food and great service. When you walk in it smells like Polish foods cooking and it was a delight. Found it by accident and loved it. Definitely will be going back

Too pricey, too slow. The food was very good, though the prices were steep and the service is slow. The owner tries to do everything herself. I have been here 3 times and the first time she has someone helping her, a young boy maybe 18 and he kept things moving along. After that she tries to "do it all". I guess she's saving herself money at the expense of customers waiting. I last went on a Holiday where one would assume there would be extra help especially when you make reservations since they said they would be sold out. I felt like i spent the whole night there. Everytime we needed anything, a drink refill, a napkin, etc..... there was no one to come to the table except herself and one helper. After waiting and waiting for the check my spouse and i got up to leave and had to walk to the desk to say "we need to leave" we still did not get our check". She said well it's a holiday and we are busy. NO KIDDING ! Get yourself some extra help.

Recent visit - table of 6. The service was horrible! At our table of 6 (a gourmet dining group) we were asked to come to dinner at 6:30 instead of 6:00 and we complied. When the first dinner came (after another table who came in after us was already eating), the other 5 dinners did not come for another 30 minutes!! Then, when the menu said that 18% gratuity would be added for groups of 6 or more (usually it is for larger groups than that), they added 20% gratuity and said the menu was wrong! We tried to discuss it with them, but they were adamant, notwithstanding that we didn't have our dinner until 1 hour after we arrived & the service was so poor. Isn't a "gratuity" supposted to be for good service, or is it now just so they can pay their help. We were thoroughly disgusted and will not ever go back there!! We also plan to contest the charge with our credit card company.

Denied service!. Absolutely appalled by the treatment we received at this establishment on Thursday night. Had reservations for 7pm. My husband and I were celebrating our 38th wedding anniversary. The two of us along with my son, his sweetheart and my sister drove 30 minutes and were looking forward to the polish cuisine. The couple ahead of us was promptly seated then the woman server told us that she would not seat us. I explained that we had reservations and there were at least 3 empty tables. She insisted that we did not have reservations, never asked our name, insisted we leave and basically told my husband that I was lying about the reservation. I work at a local business in Melbourne and we cater to our customers. Afterall, we are nothing without customers. The restaurant was recommended to me by one of my customers. So, as a result of the rude treatment, Salt & Sweet will not have me as a customer.

DATE NIGHT. Take my Date Night Partner of 34 years here every other Saturday. Last night was especially delicious. I enjoyed the Cutlet my date had the Polish Sampler. Both were really tasty. We started with the hot out of the oven homeade bread loaf. Then a steamy hot bowl of Tomato Soup. The Pickle Soup is our favorite but love all of the soups served. The House Salad with homeade Vinegrett is crisp and fresh. Dinner served with a Polish greeting to enjoy our meal is always with a smile.

The staff are work in unison and show they understand Team Work.

It is hard to pass up the Crepes they are really a treat plenty to share. It is the new year so to keep our resolution we past on the Crepes but I would have loved to share them with my BFF.

Hats off to Elizabetta and Ruhmwalt for a truly unique fine dinning experience.

AMAZING food! The soup, kielbasa, potatoes, pierogies, crepes... YUM!

Best Polish Food Since I've Left Baltimore. My husband and I came to Melbourne for a weekend trip to see friends. We came across Salt and Sweet by accident and oh, what a wonderful accident it was! The ambiance and food was exceptional. We tried the Polish sampler platter for lunch. The kielbasa was cooked just right, the pierogis were the epitome of my Mother;s kitchen and the stuffed cabbage would make angels weep. Bar none, the best Polish food I;ve eaten since my Mother's cooking,
FemiChic
Not for me. Didn't care for it at all. Maybe I'm just not in to Polish food?
Laura
Excellent Polish Cuisine. Outstanding service. Cozy atmosphere. Dynamite food. Favorite restaurant in Brevard. Have tried nearly all menu items and all have been a delight.

Restaurant is small but cozy. Very good bread, cabbage and potato soups. Veal dish was delicious, tender and juicy. Golden duck entree tasted like nothing but overwhelming nutmeg and sugar...tasted basically like Christmas cookie duck. I dont recommend the dish at all. The wait staff were polite but hovering and dinner felt rushed even though the place was empty. Oddly enough, after feeling rushed through the meal, the server took twenty minutes to bring us our check after clearing the table. We finally had to ask for it. We might go back but on a busier night perhaps.

Salt & Sweet - A little Slice of Europe in Melbourne, FL. Since it was our birthday, our sister took my twin & me out for lunch at this lovely restaurant. I have been here before for dinner a couple of times but this was my first visit for lunch. Lunch is available Monday - Saturday from 11:00 am - 2:00 pm. Although nestled in an ordinary looking strip mall, once inside you almost feel that you could be in Europe. Salt & Sweet serves a variety of traditional Polish cuisine and continental dishes.

Polish music plays softly in the background. Soft coral walls, fans on the ceilings and interesting artwork add to the charming interior. Tables are dressed in ivory linen tablecloths with contrasting dark green napkins that co-ordinate with the green underskirts on the tables. Long ivory drapes hang gracefully from the windows along with wreaths that help to camouflage the parking lot outside. We sat at a table by the large picture windows. Our lovely costumed server brought us luncheon menus to peruse while she took our beverages orders.

The first thing that I noticed about the lunch menu was how reasonably priced it was - under $10. What a terrific value! This price includes either soup or salad and fresh bead and butter. Several selections really looked interesting. I finally settled on the Outlaw’s Potato Pancake, $9.95. It was a huge potato pancake smothered with pork goulash and a bit of sour cream. It was very tender and filling. I would order it again. My two sisters ordered the Polish Sampler Plate, $9.95: Pierogi, Golabki & Polish Sausage. They thoroughly enjoyed their dish as well. We all chose salad rather than the soup since it was a very hot day. In addition, Poultry, Veal, Beef, Pork and seafood as well as Polish and a vegetable entrees round out the lunch menu.

We were all quite impressed with the service that we received. The restaurant was not too busy since this was a weekday but there were several occupied tables. The server stopped by to refill our beverage glasses and bread basket and to see if we needed anything. In addition, the chef came out also to check on things in general.

The dinner menu starting at 5 pm is more extensive and more expensive but additionally includes either roasted potato or potato dumpling and vegetables. Several appetizers are available. If you are still hungry after you finish your meal, which I doubt, there are three desserts offered. If you have not tried Polish food, stop by this restaurant and try it. As far as I know this is the only Polish restaurant in the Melbourne area and it is a good one. Since it is fairly close to the King Center for the Performing Arts, you may want to combine a visit to Salt & Sweet with a show performance. The restaurant accepts reservations by phone or by email. I will not wait for another birthday to return here.

Unique Dining Experience For Brevard County. My family and I dined at Salt and Sweet the other Saturday evening. We had been here several years back when they first opened but had honestly forgot about it until I saw it featured on UrbanSpoon. The food is advertised as Polish but I would classify it more Eastern European. I tried the meat filled pierogies while others tried the outlaw potato pancakes and golabki. The service was except-able considering a larger party came in right after us, the food was good but I wish they had more of a selection on their menu. I will most likely go back the next time I am in the mood for Eastern European food unless another restaurant servings this style of food opens in Brevard county.

Love it. I like this restaurant, the food is very good. Atmosphere is enjoyable and nice. I will be back soon.

I love it. I have been here at least a dozen times over the past 5 years and it never disappoints. The potato pancakes are to die for and I love their perogis. The service can be a little slow(but never rude), but the ambiance is nice so it kinda makes up for it.

Restaurant etiquette needs improvement. I'd love to review my meal here. Unfortunately, moments after I placed my order a hatchet fight broke out in the kitchen. I don't know what the fight was all about, and didn't stay around to see who lost.

Ugly and Mean. The food presentation was ugly.
The people in charge of this restaurant were mean.
What a waste.

Renamed. This restaurant should be named Hatefully and pepper. The owner is not nice and I would not go there again. The service is 0 out of 10

Good & Slow. Food was very good. Not enough wait staff. Large tables over whelmed them and small tables didnt get the attention. Still very good food. Worth a visit for something different food-wise in Brevard.

Very, very good food and service. Had beef stroganof and my husband had the polish sampler platter. Both were outstanding. It's located on a strip mall but do not worry about that, try it anyway you will be glad you did. Great atmosphere for a quiet dinner. We also had the cheese crepes for dessert when they were out of the apple cake. Our server recommend the crepes, very good choose to share.

Good Decision. We stopped here because the reviews were good and we wanted to try a new restaurant. This was a great decision...the cabbage soup was AMAZING! I had Potato Pancakes with pork and gravy which was really good (wish it had more gravy though). My husband got the sampler which he loved. It's a relaxing atmosphere and the wait staff were not hovering like they do in other places. One thing to keep in mind though...you will need to ask for your bill when you are ready. They don't just bring it out

Best of Melbourne. This lovely little restaurant is tucked away in a strip mall on Lake Washington Blvd in Melbourne, Do not be among those silly snobs that think this makes a difference. Patrons will generally follow good food wherever they find it and offer kudos where respect is deserved. In this case, it's major R.E.S.P.E.C.T.

The restaurant itself is well decorated, has a lovely ambience, a nice selection of wines, and portions are very generous. All this takes back seat, however, to the food itself.

Highest praise goes to their soups. My husband tried the cabbage soup, which was yummy, but baby was sent to the corner after tasting the pickle soup. Those who have not tried eastern european food may be unfamiliar with pickle soup, but this is the time to be adventurous and try this wonderful Polish dish.

The beef strogranoff my husband ordered was excellent, but I was disappointed that they were out of the dish I was most interested in ....Zrazy Polski. Disappointment was shortlived when the potato pancakes with goulash arrived at the the recomendation of the waiter, a reserved, but delightful young man, who turned out to be the son of the cook/chef.

I adore this restaurant and plan to visit it again before I head home later this week. I only hope that the next time I travel to this area, Salt & Sweet is will not only still be here, but recognized as one of the top ten local restaurants!

Love it...mean it...try it!

Please try it! Lovely place, authentic well prepared Polish food and gracious service. Small well chosen wine list. Try the sausages and the crepe with farmer cheese. I am so impressed with the number of small independent restaurants in Melbourne.

Great!. Found this on Urban Spoon. Tried it because menu looked different from normal grind. Drove up, and had second thoughts, because was in a strip mall. But, gave it a try. Polish. Waiters appeared to speak Polish, so maybe this is a family enterprise. Service and food were outstanding. Decor is nice, with tablecloths and nice napkins, but it is still pretty plain - but tasteful (no pun intended). Was not crowded, which was a surprise considering the good food. Entrees were mostly $14-19 with a couple that were higher or lower. Waiter seemed a little stand-offish at first, but we asked for recommendations and he was very friendly and helpful. I tried the duck - it was perfect (I don't like it fatty, and it wasn't). My wife had the special of the day - some sort of meat-filled balls. Did not sound great, but they tasted great. We will definitely eat here again.

Possibly the best restaurant in Melbourne. Especially if you appreciate Eastern European food. Formal setting and very tasty food.

Great change of pace.... The Polish/Continental menu features things like pierogis, kielbasa, stuffed cabbage, chicken paprika, potato pancakes, etc. Friendly, attentive service in a cozy, family run restaurant.
