🗣️ If you're looking for a taste of authentic Mexican cuisine, El Chico Mexican Restaurant on Evans Road in Melbourne, FL might be worth a visit, especially for lunch. Despite a few hiccups, I would give this restaurant a solid 4 stars. To start with, the restaurant has a rich history that dates back to 1940 in Dallas Texas. The interior is nicely decorated with traditional Mexican themes, which adds to the overall ambiance of the place. During lunch hour, it would be great if they could plan for some Mexican music to further enhance the experience. Now, on to the food. The prices are reasonable, and the menu offers a variety of dishes that are sure to please any palate. However, I did notice that some of the dishes seemed more like bulk cooking than individual plates. Nevertheless, the flavors are delicious, and the spices are spot on. If you like your food spicy, then you should definitely try out the fire bar. But be careful, as I experienced first-hand, you don't want it to land on your lap! Unfortunately, my order was mistaken by the waitress, and she ended up spilling salsa all over my business outfit. However, the staff was quick to apologize and offer to have my outfit cleaned. Despite the mishap, I appreciated their prompt response and willingness to make things right. Overall, El Chico Mexican Restaurant is a great place to enjoy some tasty Mexican food. With a little bit of improvement in individual plating and adding some music during lunchtime, it would definitely earn a 5-star rating from me. Follow at AshleyWeis4 on Twitter.

Extremely friendly and attentive staff, from hostess to servers. The table side guacamole was very good. My wife enjoyed her fish tacos which was made with grilled Mahi. I had a combination plate which was very good. Even in the outdoor seating area, the service was great. Don't forget to check out their hot sauce station. Will definitely be back.

Our food was very unique and tasty. The service was good. We had lots of left over food to take home with us. We had the quesadilla salad, tortilla soup, and chicken burritos. Our server Kaitlin L was very friendly.

Me and my wife split the steak chicken and shrimp fajitas and they were on point. Everything was tasty and well cooked. The only problems were the bartender was our waitress which made it hard for her to stay on top of empty drinks and such.

Happy Cinco de Mayo 2023. The entire staff from the front door, to the bar & at the table too were wonderful and as hospitable with my guest and I. Fresh, flavorful and authentic tex mex. Ice cold beer and tequila. Chiros for dessert to. Great atmosphere and clean facilities. Thank you El Chico's for a great evening out with friends and family.

Great Place ! Ambiance: the place was nice, clean and decorated there is a central bar and tables all around the restaurant. You can get in your own booth and have a party. Service: service was good. The waitress knew the food pretty well and was able to provide options and solutions which is always appreciated Food: the food was good and with big amount. Overall I would say that we enjoyed it. The margarita felt diluted but other than that everything else was on part with good taste. We will be back !

Enjoyed the food and it was still good later when I went to reheat it...tried something different this time (Chimi Combo) and wasn't disappointed!

I am an El Chico aficionado. We took the short 1 hour drive down from Orlando, and wow am I glad I did. This location is the BEST El Chico I've ever had. Large portions, super fresh ingredients. I literally sought out the manager to brag on the food quality. He'd been there since 2001. Please make this your go-to Mexican restaurant. This is what all El Chico's should strive to become. Great job everyone!

Dinner meeting at El Chicos - perfect atmosphere for drinks, dinner, and conversation. My only challenge was the limited menu options for keto diet. I choose the Burrito Bowl (steak) and tried not to eat all the yellow rice. And it was delicious!

It's a great restaurant. Family friendly. The kids are offered crayons and a coloring page menu to pick their meal from. The drinks are delicious as is the food. It's a clean restaurant and the staff is always kind when we visit. It's a great spot for taco Tuesday!

Felt forgotten at times. Did not come during the busiest time either. Finally received a condiment asked for when we were done eating. Long times between waitress asking if we needed anything or more beverages. Not typical of the restaurant but not my favorite visit. Will try again we love their food and service is usually much better.

Our server was Luc who was very attentive and great to chat with about the Mexican apple pie that is made in house. We did not try this as we were full from our meals but we smelled it from the table nearby and OMG it smells amazing! Food was delicious and had plenty on our plates.

I have passed this place for years because it is conveniently located on your way to everywhere else you are going; always with the promise to stop one day because of the positive things I had heard. Glad we finally stopped. It is charmingly decorated and clean. Every staff person we met was courteous and attentive - far beyond the average wait staff. The complimentary chips tasted light and salty and the salsa was the perfect blend of flavorful with just a little bite. The manager, hearing it was our first time, also brought out a sampler of their queso - he was right to brag. The food came quickly and was both affordable and delicious. While we did see some well behaved families, the ambiance was perfect for date night. We will be back to try the other things on the menu I was trying to decide between.

El Chico is our favorite Mexican food place to dine and has always been a 5 star experience. Today, we feel compelled to comment on the atmosphere due to the volume of the female bartender's voice behind the bar and while taking orders at the surrounding booths. We sat in the bar area mid-afternoon in one of those booths. There were 3-4 patrons dining at the bar engaged in a friendly discussion with her. She was SO LOUD we were unable to have a discussion. Once they left, we discovered that she is just a VERY LOUD talker. Please be mindful of other patrons by moderating your voice to the inside volume by reducing it 75%. We are sure she is a wonderful person but it was just TOO LOUD. Thank you, Staying Loyal

I went there with a group of friends, very nice and chill environment. One of my friends sent her drink back because it was too strong!!! Lol who does that?? Each of the staffs provided us with excellent customer service, superb! They will ask you about any allergies you may have and will make sure you still get something fabulous to eat. My food was beyond delicious!!! I had the shrimp enchiladas, other foods we had was the sample, chicken fajitas, etc.... I didn't order any alcoholic beverages since I'm fasting from that this month, but you best believe I will carry my tail back there on May 1st and order me a drink and some food and some dessert 😋😋😋
