I loved the veal Parmesan it was the best thing I’ve eaten since my favorite Italian place closed down ! I have a new favorite now . My boyfriend had the chicken fettuccine he said it was good but could have used some more flavor .
I brought a group of five for a business dinner, last minute, no problems getting a table. Great service, and lots of specials off menu, so don't let the published menu fool you, there's a lot more to choose from. We had bruschetta and antipasto for appetizers, a couple of bottles of wine, a variety of salads (I usually stick to Caesar) and I had the kabob for an entree. Others had osso bucco, chicken Marciano, and another veal dish, and everything was excellent. Finished off with a glass of port wine. Top notch!
Great for date night. Took my girl here for dinner on Friday night and had a wonderful experience. She ordered a veal dish and I got a special dish consisting of stuffed flounder. We shared and everything was superb! The place was dead on a Friday evening which was rather shocking. I would suggest that, anyone going somewhere in the Brookhaven Circle who can't get a table, make their way over to Marciano's because it's equally wonderful as everything else in the area.
Great neighborhood dining. I have been wanting to try Marciano's for quite a long time. I finally ate there tonight and I was absolutely blown away! The food was prepared perfectly and what made it so special was the owner/chef Morteza Gerani made it a point to come out to speak. Chef assured any time we came in to request anything we wanted and he would do his best to prepare it. Actually, his ravioli was as good as I have eaten anywhere. The bartender/server was an adorable European, Alice; that was attentive and anxious to make my first time eating there a pleasure. Marciano's has a pleasant atmosphere that is inviting. You should give it a try and let Chef Morteza show you the way.
Always great!. Awesome sausage and lentil soup and Greek salad! Even though lamb isn't on the menu, they will grill it for you and it is SO GOOD. Portobello appetizer was really good, too. Not sure why we don't go here more often.... every time we go everyone enjoys their meals. It really is a Memphis Hidden Gem!
Food is flavorful and fresh ! Try the salmon and the lobster and shrimp pasta. Nice atmosphere for a date or for a group. Food portions are just right and price is reasonable for the excellent food quality. Hidden gem in Memphis! Give it a try.
We felt like royalty! My mother and I came for lunch but they were closed. When the chef saw us he told us to come on in anyways. We were the only people there and he treated us like queens. After talking with him about what we liked and disliked, he customized both our orders. The food was great, the atmosphere was great, and the service was beyond amazing. We will be coming back.
Easy to get to in east Memphis. Brand new facility. Attentive but not intrusive wait staff. Nice variety in menu. Lobster/shrimp on angel hair was excellent, but the tiramisu was, by far, the BEST I'VE EVER HAD.
Will definitely return to try more of the menu and have the tiramisu again.
Great Italian Restaurant. From the outside, it just looked like it should be an Italian Restaurant. Inside, there were arched windows with white tablecloths and different colored cloth napkins on the tables. It was quaintly dim and reminded us of Europe. We brought our own wine and the corkage fee was a very reasonable $8.50. The dipping oil was some of the best we have experienced and we finished it very quickly. Jan and I split the shrimp and lump crab cake appetizer as a starter. It exquisite and very evident they used fresh crab and ingredients. Jan ordered the special “catch of the day”, which was baked Red Snapper Tapenade served with angel hair pasta. It was excellent and came with a choice of salad. We split the Spinach Salad which was also excellent and the herb vinaigrette dressing really set it off. I had the Lobster and Shrimp which was served with a great roasted red pepper sauce with vegetables and angel hair pasta. We eat a lot of seafood and the shrimp was so fresh and of such high quality, it was like we were back in Pass-A-Grille. Both of our entrees were enough to take some home so we could save room for desert. The Tiramisu was not on the menu, but our waiter told us about it. We ordered it and it was incredible. It was extremely fresh and worth fighting over for the last crumbs. This is such a nice restaurant with the food and décor to match. I can’t wait to try their other dishes especially the Pizza.
Wonderful Meal-Great Value. After reading a few Urbanspoon reviews on this restaurant we decided to try it tonight. A few reviews said this was a hidden secret and (4) of us agree. We had 7:15 reservations, parked at the front door and were promptly seated. The special, lamb and filet kabob was exceptional. The seafood risotto,,,, the best in Memphis! We brought our own wine but had some martinis that were excellent. The service was timely and respectful. The chef came out to meet our table and discuss the entrees. Our group of 4 had not seen each other for a few months and wanted a great meal and a place to talk and enjoy each other's company--Marciano's was the perfect choice. I hope you make time to eat here. There is lots of good food in Memphis, but not too many places with excellent food, good prices, great location and a staff that makes you feel important and well cared for. Here's to Marciano's!!
Very Impressed!. My girlfriends and I opted to eat here over the long wait at another place close by. I loved the cozy atmosphere, which made you feel very welcomed. The food was great and not as pricey as you would expect. We loved the Antipasta appetizer, Lamb and Fresh Fish. The owner came by our table to welcome us. We really enjoyed it and will be back!
Sneaky Good!. My wife and I ate at Marciano's for the third time last weekend. It really is fabulous. Once again, our food was great; our service was attentive; the wine was a great value; and the atmosphere was attractive.
I have enjoyed the lamb, a steak, and the veal saltimbocca, along with salads and a special mussel appetizer. My wife loves the Turkish chicken.
It is not as expensive as some of our other East Memphis haunts and I don't hear much buzz about it. So I started with modest expectations. But it is sneaky good and rapidly becoming a favorite!
Yummy Yummy!. My husband and I went on a double date to Marciano's last night and all of us REALLY enjoyed it. My friend and I both had the crab stuffed flounder special and our husbands both had pizza (there was a shrimp and lobster pizza special) and our husbands loved the pizza. Seafood in Memphis can be extremely hit or miss but I was pleasantly surprised by the seafood at Marciano's and the price of the meal didn't break the bank.
Our husbands liked it so much they wanted to know if it was open for lunch so they could come back for more pizza at lunch time.
I also have celiac disease and I had no problem ordering a meal with no gluten. The waitress understood right away when I told her and they were able to adjust the seafood special with a different sauce so I could have it!
It was incredible. Absolutely phenomenal experience all the way around!!!
Wow! Wonderful food. Refined dining. Freshly cooked food that was not feshly thawed and reheated. Excellent fine white table cloth service staff. Ambiance is classic. This is an underrated find. Do not wait to try this place! Enjoyed the chicken fettucini Alfredo was the Chicken Parmesan was out of this world!
Fantastic, upscale Italian food that's been infused with Middle Eastern flavor!. You can tell that the owner, Mortez, puts his heart and soul into his food and his restaurant. It'll be a rare night that he doesn't come out to greet you. Blending Mediterranean / middle eastern flare to classic italian dishes is a lovely combination and Mortez executes this fusion very well at this upscale Italian restaurant.
I've had at least 2/3 of his menu, and he serves one of the most tender, tastiest beef tenderloins in all of Memphis, and that's tough to write given Folks Folly, Erlings, and the likes. His Tartufo is a fantastic desert and his version of Caprese is a must.
Prices are fairly reasonable.
Marciano's... A little slice of Italy (and Heaven) in Memphis. I hesitate to write a review so I can keep this place to myself as my little secret, but thought it's only right to share the wealth. We had an amazing dinner at Marciano's from beginning to end. The interior has a European flair with arched windows and simple but fine decor. The food was well thought out and we could taste the high quality ingredients selected. We had a shared platter to start with- a nice mix of pickings with grilled shrimp, selection of nice cheese, and vegetables. We fought over the bread and oil that came out. There were tasty spices in the dipping oil that we basically drenched in everything from the platter. I could have put my napkin in it and eaten it. We didn't think it could get better, but our entrees were just as perfect and nice sized portions (actually a bit large for us) - we had a chicken dish with vegetables on top of jasmine rice and it was massive, and my husband had the chicken pizza. To top it all off, the bill was a welcomed price for top notch food, service, and atmosphere ($47 total for 1 appetizer, 2 entrees, and 1 beer). We felt transported back to Italy for a night with genuinely nice and gracious hosts, what a gem we found and made plans to shortly return. I just hope I don't have to be on a waiting list now I've let the secret out! Enjoy!
We went to Marciano's tonight for my wife's birthday. It was wonderful! We both had salalds (which we thought were the best we've had in a while). I had the beef tenderloin, and my wife had a chicken dish (of which we can't remember the name!). I also had a great solo espresso. Great atmosphere and service.
We found this hidden gem googling date night restaurants for my birthday dinner! ☺ love love love everything from the staff to the service to the decor and the food!!! Let me say I've never tasted pesto sauce.... Their homemade pesto sauce was to die for!! I believe they sell it I'm definitely buying some next time we go! There were only 2 things... 1 it was super quiet! Needs some soft music playing..could have been because it was like 2 hours before closing but they didn't mind us playing some music on our phone! 2 there were bits of shell in my lump crab stuffed manicotti... My husband said "hey at least you know it's real crab"! 😂😂😂
I rode around Brookhaven circle looking for something to eat for dinner. I saw this Italian restaurant and decided to stop in. When I tell you I'm so glad I did. I was greeted at the door by a gentleman with an accent😊 who asked me how many was in my party, I proudly said TABLE FOR ONE. The special was shrimp and lobster over angel hair pasta with broccoli as a side and I had a glass of Pinot. When I tell you I thoroughly enjoyed my meal and it was reasonable. I let my waitress know I shall return. It was mentioned reservations might be needed on the weekend. I'm not sure on how to add a picture.🤔😊
Oh my! The best Italian food this side of the Atlantic. If you want outstanding Italian and middle eastern this is the best in Memphis. The Koi was awesome! Make sure you make a reservation!
Thank you!
Authentic Mediterranean & Italian Food! It gives vibes from the Netflix movie “From Scratch”. Everything was fresh and cooked to perfection. Chef was so kind! 10/10 would recommend.
Very quaint spot for dinner, service was outstanding, and the food was even better. Perfect spot for a quiet dinner date. They have a full bar and their strawberry lemon drop martini was one of the best I've had.
A great Mediterranean/Italian restaurant. I love the fragrance garlic and olive oil as soon as you open the door. My entree, Fesenjoon, is a plate of roasted chicken with walnuts and pomegranate source on a bed of rice and potatoes, with broccoli on the side. My sisters' entrees were the Salmon with garlic sauce with broccoli and angel hair pasta; the other had Turkish chicken w/the rice-potato side. Our desserts were Creme Brulee and berries. They offer a wide selection of wines. The staff is super friendly and patient; the chef will visit your table during the meal. Wonderful experience!
The chef opened the restaurant for lunch for my company's holiday celebration, on his birthday no less! It was absolutely delicious, the staff was nice and the place was clean and pretty and intimate. The food was a little slow but that was because it was made fresh and to high standards so well worth the wait. The warm and fresh bread and Olive oil sauce was delicious pre-meal.
A hidden gem. Took my grandma out for dinner. She is notoriously picky and critical about service and food. She was nothing short of delighted with the food and service. The portions were great, the food delicious, and atmosphere lovely. We had a great dinner and will definitely be back for more.
Very tasty dishes. Atmosphere and service was lovely. Definitely recommend- will be coming back here!
The team at Marciano continue to provide an amazing experience. The food and service are always on point. The best people you’ll meet! One of our favorites in Memphis!
Wow! This is definitely a hidden gem in Memphis. The food and service was great! My waitress was very attentive. I enjoyed my birthday dinner on May 2.
I'll be back to visit again soon!
Beautiful and romantic ambient, elegant and delicious food. 🤩 The staff are very nice I was there with my family, but it's a great place to have a romantic dinner. We have a great experience at Marciano Restaurant, I love it.❤️
Well slept on well kept secret for Italian with a sliver of Greek flair! The seafood manicotti was beautifully pairs with a homemade Alfredo sauce and Romano cheeses oozed from on top and within. The pesto, fresh you could taste the basil, garlic every herb titillated my tongue with every bite. The bread was smooth, warm and supple with every scoop of pesto. The Greek spinach salad could have used a stronger more flavorful salad dressing but everything is homemade which ok can appreciate. I loved that pesto so much I can’t stop thinking about it.
Visited this restaurant while vacationing from Central Florida. It was AMAZING !!
The Service from Crystal was Top Notch and Compliments to the Chef for preparing one of the best meals we have ever had. Highly Recommend and will Definitely return next time we are in the area.
Was here a few weeks back and had ro come back. They truly are a gem. Delicious food and awesome atmosphere.
Authentic Mediterranean food prepared fresh upon order that doesn't disappoint; fell for their grilled rack of lamb which is tender and comes with grilled vegetables and spinach but on this occasion I had the koolau Italian turkey meatballs which was cooked with roasted potatoes, mushrooms, covered with a delicious freshly made tomato sauce...I added some of there personally prepared pepper sauce for an extra "kick of spice" ... the atmosphere is quiet and the staff is friendly and efficient.
Nice atmosphere. Good service. Was a bit slow but she was running back and forth. Food was delicious! The bread with the oil and herbs they brought out was awesome we had to ask for more! Hubby had the Bolognese the meat was tender and the sauce was delicious. I had the ceasar salad which was very good and the Pollo Al Diablo. It was delish and good amount of spicy. The portion sizes were a bit small for the price which is why I give it 4 stars. Staff was very friendly the chef even came out to see how everyone's food was in the restaurant. I would go back and recommend others to go as well. They had a lot of dishes I would have ordered but couldn't afford it!
