Our family went back for the second time just like we said we would and had such a great experience ❤ The general manager was so sweet and kind to us just like our first visit ☺ and the pizza was amazing! This time I ordered the vegetable pizza and it was so delicious especially with the ranch dip! Yummy! If I could rate it higher, I would! If you think about going here, please do not hesitate. You will enjoy your experience here 😄 We will back again!

Don't let the wacky mushroom and pizza themed decor deter you from going. A good slice of pizza awaits beyond those doors. There are a multitude of options and each serving size is filling.
The restaurant also offers sandwiches, salads, cocktails, and a large beer list ranging from domestics, to crafts, local brews, and internationals.

Gluten-Free pizzas are small but tasty! Even tasted great the next day.
Desheena hi
My new fave place! I've been wanting to visit here for a while and finally got the Chance to and it was well worth it. I was so excited about the food i forgot to take pics! The spinach dip was bomb, their wings are glorious, the pizza was heavenly, and thier burger was glorious! Will definitely be back and next time im bringing my kids....THEY LOVE PIZZA
moxeev
This place reminded of pizza planet from Toy Story.
They do have vegan cheese!!! Had no issues with out order, we ended getting take out before we left Memphis (it was that good!)
The crust was my favorite part!
Rick Perez
Delicious, creative pizzas that really show off what a fire oven can do. Lighter, crisp crusts paired with fresh ingredients. They also boast an impressive choice of available beers and cocktails in this big three saturated area. We will definitely be going again!
Neecole Gregory
We had the pretzels, Thai Chili wings, a "Great White" pizza, and a cheese calzone. Most of it was quite delicious - especially the wings! The calzone though was a bit bland, including the marinara. It tasted like it needed a variety of spices, herbs, and some good salt! Either way, it wasn't bad enough to not eat it. The Peach cocktail was also quite good 🍑

Food was very good. We ordered the Philosopher's pie, meatballs, Greek salad and cheese bread. All of these items were tasty and would eat them again.
We sat outside with our kids. The heaters above us were not working so it was a little chilly.
The waiter took good care of us but he seemed a little off on this day. Even so he brought our food and drinks quickly so no complaints.
If you've never been I recommend checking them out!
Neal Fisher
Unusual sense of style to say the least, but the food was solid - especially the wings. The BBQ pork pizza was a bit crust-heavy, but otherwise good. Nice and crackly on the outside like you'd expect a brick oven pizza to be.

I have been to 3 Mellow Mushroom locations now, they have yet to let me down. Memphis is a friendly bright restaurant, great service and the pie was amazing. They always seem to have a killer beer on tap selection too. Picture is a small House Special and it was delicious!

Stopped by to have a drink and few appetizers. My man had Jam 'N Juice I had Golden Goose we had the Naked Oven Roasted Wings and Spinach Artichoke Dip. I was informed by the server when she brought out my drink that there was no Grey Goose so they fixed my drink with Kettle One. I asked was there going to be a price difference and due to state laws concerning alcohol the manager couldn't reduce the price of the drink however he knocked five bucks off of our bill. Customer Satisfaction at it's finest not sure who's on duty but they know how to make boss decisions
Anthony Makridis
Pizza was really tasty. Toppings were very few for a custom built pizza. It was more of bread and sauce pizza with a dash of toppings. Still tastes good. Mushroom soup was not so much and the consistency was still like a canned condensed cream of mushroom. Nice selection of beers. I will come back to try again one more time.
Ben Sauberman
Great food! The vegan pizza is really good. And so is the salad. Fair prices.
Takesha Martin
The Best place in Memphis and OMG the drinks will have you Mellow Mushroomed Out!! Kid friendly,Adult drinks, little steep on prices for the size of drinks but I swear it's worth the extra and an Out Of THIS WORLD EXPERIENCE!! Cant wait to go back...
Chaunte Cole-Walker
My hubby and I were there yesterday. Our server was Daisy and she did a fantastic job! Shout out to her and the kitchen staff. Our calzone and pretzels were perfect! The manager even stopped by our table to check in on us. This was our second visit with many more to come in the future! Thanks for making our day even better! Daisy, you are a rockstar!

❤️ this place! The decor is “out of this world” 😃Kiddos are excited to see the spaceship 🚀 Everyone has their favorite pizza choice 🍕 but agree that all the fresh toppings are delicious! Waitstaff are always prompt and friendly.
Fabiana Ford
Just left this place- sat outside in the patio for 20 minutes and still no service. The waiter saw us multiple times and still made to effort to come and at least serve us water. Very disappointed.
Stacy Kendrick
The food was great! The kids really enjoyed it! Our waitress was really friendly and kept us with drinks. Will come back the next time I am in Memphis!
Stephanie Wells-Ige
Love the atmosphere and Daisy our server was awesome. Everything was good from the tea to the pizza.
Kristin Beckman
We have been to several different Mellow Mushrooms across the region and have never experienced anything like what we did today. Sunday at 2 pm, restaurant isn't the least bit crowded. We are led to an area with empty and dirty tables and waited for one to be cleaned off. Sat down with three kids and waited for 20 minutes and no one ever bothered to come and say a word to us. No drink orders, no letting us know they'd be right with us - totally ignored in a dead restaurant. We left and told the hostess we'd been waiting for 20 minutes and no one came and she was completely unapologetic. We won't be back.
Sue Robinson
Not only do they have awesome pizza but the best salads you could want! My friend and I go often just for the salads! All around the food is amazing and reasonably priced... definitely a go-to place for me and my friends!!
Leslie Matlock
The food was very good the staff was awesome the atmosphere was perfect we were on the patio 72° absolutely beautiful sunset and a very enjoyable band
Margaret Box
The food is absolutely delicious and the servers were very friendly. They did everything to accommodate us. Great place!

Despite a half-empty house, we were greeted with,"it's gonna be about 10 minutes. I just need to collect myself!" When we were seated a server came to our table pretty soon. I asked for "just one minute" for us to solidify our pizza choice. I tried to flag him down, but to no avail. He buzzed by our table 6 times before I was able to get him to take our order.
That was when I remembered why we never eat at that location.
Larry Tindall Jr.
The food was great for my first experience. But my order was messed up so we had to wait twice the time to eat. And nothing complimentary was brought out for us in spite of which I feel could have been handled differently. This was my first time and I will try again. I recommend it to all.
Brad Conder
Kitchen could not get out food out, and this is not the first time in the last 5 months. Ordered hummus as appetizer, and it took 1 hour to get it. The pizza came out first. Pizza also came out before the salad. Food was good, but until they get their kitchen together and get food out in a timely manner, I will definitely not be back. Waitress was good, but should've got on the kitchen about the appetizer, so kinda on her as well. Get a manager involved if you have to. Been like this in the 3 visits I've had since June. Too many other choices to put up with that kind of service from the kitchen.
Lindsey Ann Cresswell
The food was absolutely amazing. Our server was Noah and he was super polite and made sure we had everything we needed. Would definitely come back!
Tobe Todd
The careless service bummed me out pretty hard, but what really bummed me out is that I waited until my friends were almost done with their food to get a nine dollar bread sandwich. Bland, hardly anything in it, and not even half as tasty as the bag of chips that came with it. This place has gotten progressively worse over time. Coming from someone who has managed kitchens, this place needs to get a grip.
Jon Ashley Lunsford
We loved Lisa Woodruff as our server!!! She was extremely personable and funny and made the entire experience fun! We were all newbies and will definitely come back!
MPM
Another table sent back two pizzas just after we sat down. The wrong server came over and yelled across our table trying to figure out if we were her customers. Side salad was good BUT pizza was missing meat and looked like whoever made it was blindfolded - toppings were slung everywhere with zero consistency. Finally, birthday party was outrageously loud with unruly kids throwing stuffed animals everywhere. It was a truly miserable experience for which I paid full price. Future customers BEWARE of this location. Mellow Mushroom is usually great so this is strictly a lack of management problem at this one.
Christian Stewart
We have been dining at Mellow Mushroom for quite some time, I have a dairy allergy and sadly I passed that along to my two little girls, the dairy free pizza options allow us all to enjoy family pizza night. Sadly the staff at the Park Ave. location rarely get our orders correct with our pizzas being made with regular cheese which none of us can eat. A lot of times we end up sitting there for hours....yes...HOURS waiting for our correct orders. My father in-law has celiac disease (Gluten allergy) and 1 out of every 3 visits he has a reaction which I can only attribute to cross contamination.

The service is inconsistent, they have a few fantastic servers and bartenders but it is hit and miss.

We no longer dine at the Park location because of our last visit (Made my 4yo daughters pizza wrong and she had to wait 30 minutes while everyone else had their food)

I can't comment on their regular dairy items but if you have dairy or gluten allergies I don't recommend the Park Ave location. We switched back to the Germantown location, while it is a bit of a drive for us they never get our orders wrong and the service is always spot on.

Mellow mushroom has plenty of locations and same great matured service all around! Pick anything from the menu and you'll love it, as long as it's in your food of choice category! Family fun all the way to date fun! Also check out game night on Mondays!

Not impressed with service. They are very disorganized. Cashier bringing out food. Waiters not too be found. Very unclear who gets what like refills. Waiters and waitress not doing much. Though the food was good. Lack of communication.

First timer. I was recently at Mello Mushroom for a friends birthday and it was decent at best. There were only a few other customers in the restaurant literally two other tables and the service was bad. The waitress Andrea took forever to wait our table. When she finally did bring our appetizer the bread was old and the spainch dip seem to be leftovers as well. They did however have great bbq pizza which made the visit decent. I will not be going back to this place again.

Delightful Service, Best Pizza Ever. I love pizza, and while there are many good pizza places in Memphis this one has without a doubt created my favorite pizza ever. For New York style I would go elsewhere, for Chicago-style I would go elsewhere also. Mellow Mushroom has soft, chewy sweet crust that looks/tastes like wheat crust. Delicious! They also make gluten-free and vegetarian pizzas.

I stopped in for lunch one day and was surprised to step step inside what looks like an old bank building and find a unique, hip, space-themed pizza place with a great relaxed atmosphere. Definitely a family-friendly establishment. The staff here were so helpful and friendly, they made it that much better to be there!

The food (I tried the Magic Mushroom Soup and a half Thai Dye/half Cosmic Karma pizza) were made with fresh ingredients, unique (unusual) flavors, that all blended well together. Definitely a must! Only con to going there is the price. $13 for a small (4-slice) pizza is a little steep for me. Would love to go back!

Love this place. The red skin potato pizza is amazing and so is the hummus.
Kellen
Pizza and Beer.... Huge selection, so if you are any sort of craft beer lover you need to stop in. Bar staff (Mac) was friendly. Bayou pizza we had was good and the pretzels are great. I can't understand how the rating is so low (60% currently), but maybe some people need to "mellow" out and have a drink or two.

Why go anywhere else?. This place was awesome and I can't imagine eating pizza anyplace else.
I was a little put off by some of the other reviews but it appears the majority of the bad reviews came when they first opened. I also realized that very few places get perfect scores.
We were seated and the inside is unbelievable. Old School Sci-Fi Everywhere.
I really liked the LED clouds in the tower. I was told one of the owners made them.
So we ordered a Mighty Meaty Pizza and Tidal Wave Hoagie at the recommendation of our server. The Hoagie isn't on the menu any longer but the way the server described it I had to try it.
They told us it would take about 25 min for our food to come out since they hand toss the pizzas and all ingredients are made fresh daily. We also ordered a couple of beers from their huge selection of 180 something brews. So we sat their enjoying our beers while watching Football on several of the huge TV's they have strategically placed throughout the place.
Our food showed up right as we hit the 25 min mark and all i can say was everything was fabulous.
The service was good and our waitress was a hottie.
Definitely going to make this a monthly stop.
Rob
Slowest service ever!!! There is no one in here and in 30 min. we've gotten water. The bartender ran out of their well burbon and decided to mix jack Daniels with it! Awesome (not!)

BEST GLUTEN FREE PIZZA EVER!!. I have recently been diagnosed with celiac disease(BOO!!) and have had the WORST time trying to find things to eat that actually taste good to me. I'm not doing this gluten free diet crap for fun...i have to do it and it sucks! I love my pizza and I love my BEER(both are things that are full of gluten)....but MELLOW MUSHROOM has BOTH that are Gluten Free!!! AND....actually taste wonderful!! This location had like 4 different GF beers to choose from, not just those damn ciders that everybody else offers.....and the GF crust was AWESOME!! Didn't taste weird like other GF pizza crusts I have tried. This was SERIOUSLY delicious!! I did not have a reaction, which proved that all GF product was handled properly as stated and not cross contaminated. The price is a little expensive(one 12" GF pie with deluxe toppings and 2 beers plus tip will be around $42)...but worth it if you are wanting to finally eat pizza that tastes like pizza!!! not some weird, healthy, trendy fad diet pizza!! although this pizza may be healthy and all that...dont know...don't care....just know that it was great and so was the GF BEER!! Also...on a side note....everyone was super friendly and didn't act weird when i had so many questions about the GF stuff. The manager(i think his name was Nick) even came over to see how everything was and was so nice! I told him i was going to get the word out about this being the best GF place to come to for pizza and beer!! Well done Mellow Mushroom....well done!!

Best Pizza in a Long Time. I didn't know that Mellow Mushroom was a chain nor did I know we had more than one in Memphis. I just randomly noticed it occupying the old AAA building and the name of it made me laugh so I decided to I had to check it out.

The reviews made me a little nervous. Expensive and poor service were common criticism. A couple even mentioned poor food quality even though the beer's good. And if you can't make pizza and beer good, you're doing something wrong. But I was really determined to try it out so I went in with apprehension and the fear in my gut that I might end up spending way more than I wanted for a lunch out.

My first impression upon walking up was admittedly a bad one. The patio, which is never nice and spacious, was taken over by a group of young (probably around age six or seven) loud children, clamoring all over and taking group pictures. The inside was relatively quiet though and the decor was funky in a way that matched the name. They worked very well with the odd shape of the building they're in and it's open, airy, yet still comfortable.

Our server was quick and friendly. We got our drinks right away. And looking over the menu...the food is not remotely expensive. A large specialty pizza is around $25 (a large pizza is eight slices). However, the slices are large themselves so it's not that surprising. A large make-your-own pizza is only around $15. My companion and I went simple with a medium cheese (with extra cheese of course!). The pizza and two sodas only came to $17.32 or so. Looking through the rest of the menu, everything else is reasonably priced as well. What will bring your bill up quickly, is selecting from their long, long, extremely long list of beers (bottled, canned, and draft from all over the world, including several local selections).

The wait for our pizza was around twenty five minutes but for a fresh made pizza that's not remotely long. And when it came out...the first bite was cheesy, hot, delicious heaven. It's honestly some of the best pizza I've had in a long time. Probably the best I've had in Memphis. It's not too doughy, the base just thick enough and firm enough to be satisfying without being heavy while the crust itself is light and fluffy. It's brushed in butter and has Parmesan cheese sprinkled on top. The sauce itself was just tangy enough to be noticeable but didn't overpower the pizza which is a big problem with most pizzas in general. Between two of us we managed to put away most of six slices even though it was way too much to eat. It was honestly so good we didn't want to stop eating. And since we were going somewhere else afterwards, we couldn't get leftovers.

The part where the wonderful experience broke down was paying. It was like they didn't want our money! The waitress gave us our check, told us about a survey, and then disappeared and didn't come back for ten minutes. We started debating whether or not we were supposed to pay at the table or at the front it took so long. That knocked her tip down to only 20% but other than that it was a wonderful experience. I'm definitely going to go again. And again. And again.

This place is great! YES it's pricey. The review about people who think it's pricey should go to taco bell is obviously an employee who got his/her little feelers hurt! Calm down sonny! The food is delicious but like 90% of the reviews are correct! We are definitely paying extra for the atmosphere.

Soggy wet pizza. We eat out pizza every Friday night for near 30 years. I can honestly say the pizza we had at the Park Ave location is the worst pizza we have ever been served, anywhere. We ordered the "House Special" pizza and it was a wet soggy mess. The crust was literally soaked. They put whole slices of wet tomatoes on this pizza and that was some of the problem. They need to rethink this pizza. We let our waitress and the walk around guy SEE the slimy goeey mess. We paid our $45 and left!

We decided to go check this place out for the first time tonight. We walked in and I was very surprised! It was not at all how I pictured it to look inside. A lot bigger than I expected. Very clean (even the bathrooms impressed my hubs who always critiques the bathrooms) and very cool decor and layout. The host greeted us and was very nice. I told him it was our first time and he said "great, glad you came" with a friendly smile. I'm digging it. The waitress brought our menus, asked what we wanted to drink. Water with lemon please, I say. She comes back with waters, no lemon. Now I'm not a complete "I only can drink my water with lemon wedges" snob, but damn. Why ask me what I want if your going to bring me what YOU want to bring me. Ok, so I let it go. We are looking over the large menu and I am already planning my next trip back. My eyes are bugging out of my head over all the options and yummy goodness being offered on the menu! So I tell the waitress this is our first time and ask what her fave app was and she tells me, in a very un-excited way, spinach art. dip...I'm thinking, really? Not trying to upsell, are ya, Hun? So I order muffuletta cheese bread. As we are waiting for the app, I am literally texting my SIL telling her we have to come back next weekend for my brothers bday party. I'm so impressed and haven't even taken one bite of anything yet... the bread comes, It was ok. I thought it might have been slightly overcooked, but still very good. We ate it all. After trying to decide on the size, bc I can't usually eat a whole one and the cost is pretty high, we order 2 small pizzas. Even though a little pricey, I figured they must be very good and worth it. While waiting about 15-20 minutes, they come out and after taking a couple bites, we realize they are SO doughey. The manager comes over and says yeah, looks like they are not done and they will remake them. So after another 25 or so minutes and over analyzing every waitress and every thing about the place (lots of young, non-smiling waitresses whom I assume this is their first waitressing job due to their lack of friendliness/enthusiasm) we realize we have made an awful assumption. That all the flashing TVs and modern look does not mean great, even good, service or product. The round 2 pizzas come out and as much as I wanted them to be better, they just were NOT. The manger did come over again and asked us how they were. I had to be honest and tell him they were still doughey and we would probably not eat them and that it was our first time here & we will most likely not be back. It sucks too bc I really wanted to try more apps and salads and pizzas! He was understanding and said it was weird bc we were the first to complain that the pizza was doughey. Well, that's unbelievable to me, but ok. Guess the Mellow Mush was just exactly that for us, MUSH. Hope this review helps someone in the future to not have an experience like ours! Btw-my husband and I have worked in the restaraunt industry for many years. He has slung many a pizza, and this was not worthy of our time.
Infirm.cheney
Cheap Whiners. The food is NOT "pricey", rather worth every cent. This new location had some service problems the first couple of months, but the food was always what I expect from MM. If there is a wait to be seated, well, their popular. If your food doesn't arrive In 10 minutes, enjoy one the great beers on hand. If you're still complaining then maybe you should just stick with Taco Bell.
Skinnychef19
Good pizza. I think that the flavor is there. i just feel this place is pricey and they should really try to add more diverse toppings to the menu so they can stand out more. Aldos is really good about standing out. Mellow mushroom should try it! Overall, good food and service (Andrea was extremely good and we will go back and ask for her) the kitchen should work on getting the food out faster though.
Eveymama
Waited 40 minutes to get table to be told there was a 30 min wait on pizzas. Crazy!!! Been waiting 20 min for apps. Terrible service & terribly run!
Bob.bfg
Not so good. Ate at the Mellow Mushroom at Park and White Station- 1st time for dinner. The food was not as good as the Germantown location. The server was friendly and the place appeared to be clean. I think that the pizza cafe across the street is much better and the prices are less. Will not be returning to this location.
Jason Woods
I ordered 2 different slices for lunch at 1115 and they had them to me within 5 minutes of ordering my speciality slices. I was getting the food to go but was drawn in by the atmosphere. Will try again maybe a sandwich next time.
Pamela
Food was less than mediocre and too expensive. Pizza had no flavor and we did not take the leftovers. Memphis Pizza Cafe across the street has no worries. Service was friendly and very good for our group of 10. Don't waste your money.
Jim Belushi
I went last night and although the service was great, my chicken and spinach pizza had about 6 leaves of spinach. I can't believe they have the nerve to charge extra for that. The other funny thing was that it was only 4pm and there was a. 25 minute wait for pizza orders.
Keith Lewis
Food is the best part of this place. However seriously have to question wether it is worth the price and the ridiculous wait time (for being seated and food prep). Waiting an hour and half from entering the restaurant to seeing your food is something I would prefer to save for a 5 star Michelin rated establishment . Ps having your hostess drum her thigh with your silverware is also not real appetizing (pun intended)
Kmart
Way too many chances. The first review I gave of this place was after they first opened, subtracting the new kinks that needed to be worked out. Well, over a year later, nothing has changed. In fact it's worse. The patio, with tons of heaters, was closed until April 1st. Sitting inside is plain torture due to loud kids and unpadded booths. There are never any spots open at the bar because it's the only decent place to sit. We finally got a patio table on Thursday, a day after it opened, as it was the only clean one out there. There was only one waitress out there who was working her tail off and was the only bright spot to the evening. Appetizer served after the pizza. We left after we got cut off at 8:30 PM. (Who does that?) I doubt I will ever return to this MM.

-----10 Oct, 2013-----

Been waiting. Finally a place with a good beer selection in East Memphis. There are some newbie kinks to work out but for the most part, pleasant first experience at this MM last week. Very kid friendly with an amazing patio. The pizzas might be pricy but that's nothing new with MM. This will be a go-to place for us after work.
MACHO LIBRE
Nice and clean facility with a heated and covered late patio. Friendly service, but the food was just ok. Not bad by any means, but not great either. Additionally 22$ for a medium pizza was a little steep on prices for a lunch time visit.
6 of 10 stars

G had the thai dye pizza, which had curry chicken. Both pizzas were good. It has a nice crust on them. I love trying all the different flavors, especially the unique ones. The prices are pretty average for a good pizza joint.
