This was the best Carne asada burrito I have eaten in a long time. Can't wait to try more dishes. Also pictured are the happy chicken and pastor tostada. 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥

You really gotta try this delicious food. Muy bien! Also very customer friendly. Muchos gracias. Nice to have amigos in our Berclair neighborhood.

Went to Palmar for lunch and had their chicken fajitas. Was a pretty good value for $6.00. Service was good, and seems to be a family run business as small children were running about the restaurant. Would go back again for the value.

I loved my taco salad with chicken chunks. It was a great portion and price. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable. My only drawback was that they don't serve any dishes with ground beef; only steak. But still a great place for authentic Mexican cuisine.

I come here anytime I want tacos or burrito. Love the salsa and queso.

We last went on a Sunday and there were a lot of people there but it didn't get in the way of our visit. Plus there was a guitarist playing and singing authentic Mexican music which was awesome and quite a pleasant feature. The food is always great and they are nice people.

Excellent food, friendly atmosphere. Our server was very nice, kind of spacey and it took a minute to get the check. But overall, this place is great. I had the carnitas and they were delicious.

Try the new platter with several thin beef seasined steaks, big shrimp, mexican cheese slices, grilled cactus, a bowl of special made black beans, a special container of spicy salsa, and all buried under a pile of grilled think scallions. Costs about 14 bucks My guest got the beef steak fajita platter and the fajita was one giant platter sized one cut up into about 4. The usual rice and beans, it was maybe 9 dollars. I like that they offer traditional steamed tortillas to pick up the food with or mix up a little taco. Very traditional now with a new spin. alcohol if you want it

Wonderful multilingual staff who greets you when you walk into the doors. After seating yourself and given menus. Then asked for your drink order and given two different types of delicious fresh salsa and warm crisp tortilla chips. The plump shrimps, tasty refried beans, carrot rice, and fresh salad is best Mexican cuisine I've eaten in Memphis including the well balanced flavors in the cold Horchata drink. Palmar offers takeout.

You can always tell which Mexican restaurants are the good ones by whether or not there are a bunch of contractor trucks and Vans parked out front. We had trouble finding parking here because of the contractors trucks and vans. It's some of the best and most authentic Mexican food I've ever had.

Good food. Selection is slightly limited. The tongue is good. Salsa is great. The salsa verde is good too. Kitchen is clean. The place is small but comfortable.

Really Good Authentic Mexican Food. I saw the reviews for this restaurant and I work not far from it so I checked it out today! I ordered 3 steak tacos (carne asada) and rice! Really good! I'm definitely coming back to try the tamales and other foods! It definitely is very "homey" and similar to what I ate when visiting my grandparents in Mexico.

Wish we had tried this place sooner! Food was absolutely wonderful! We usually end up at La Guadalupana down the street, but will definitely be heading back here soon! The goat was killer!

I went to El Palmer for the first time yesterday and was thrilled! It was very clean, but it did not have that overwhelming bleach and/or Pinesol smell that many places have. I could see into the kitchen which was also very clean. Our Salvadoran waitress was friendly and efficient. She was very attentive but not overbearing.

First, the not so great part. The rice and beans were painfully ordinary. They needed salsa to wake them up. And, the chips were nothing special.

That's it, however, because everything else was spectacular. The guacamole was the best I've had in a long time...truly awesome! The salsa was spectacular! I could go back just for that! We ordered steak enchiladas with salsa verde and steak flautas off of the lunch menu. The prices were more than reasonable and the portions were more than ample--I took enough home for supper. We also enjoyed a Mexican Coke which still comes in a glass bottle and is made with cane sugar instead of corn syrup.

Very nice! This is a great place to eat and I'm looking forward to eating there again.

Very authentic Mexican here, like you'd actually get in Mexico. Love the imported, glass-bottled Coke.

I've been to this restaurant about five times and it gets worse everytime. This last time I got the '3 beef flautas' lunch special and a chorizo taco. The flautas were too tough to chew and lacked any flavor. The rice and beans also lacked any flavor and were more liked canned food than authentic offerings. The chorizo taco was too salty to bear. Save your $ and drive 2 miles to El Guadalapana. I worship great Mexican food and this ain't it.

On Thursday night, Warren suggested we go to Back Yard Burger. I suggested we go somewhere else. (This is a side effect of my blogging and writing about restaurants on a regular basis.) “We could try one of those new Mexican places on Summer,” he suggeste
