As soon as our feet crossed the threshold, we were greeted. It felt like we had come to an aunts place. Mary was the most informative and hospitable server. We ate slow, talked, laughed, and enjoyed! The lemonade was perfection. The beef patties were full of spicy flavor enveloped in a flaky pastry. The ox tails were tender and moist. It reminded me of a succulent roast packed with flavor. I had the pasta ot was packed with flavor and more than I could finish.

So for my birthday I decided to try out a spot that I saw so many good reviews about and had to give it a try. The Rasta Pasta with shrimp was so delicious with a kick of spicy! I also ordered two Jamaican Rum punch! No I didn’t drink both! lol But you will need some stronger if you’re a real drinker! But my food was hot & fresh just how I love it! I will definitely try again in the future.

Simply delicious. Had the stew chicken with rice and peas and cabbage. I will say I noticed the portion size is bigger for take out. I was also charged a 10% service fee on top of taxes. A bill went from $12 to $20+ in a heartbeat lol Server was great. The atmosphere is definitely uncomfortable if you've never been to a restaurant that has so much going on.

My son and I decided to have our weekly meet up here today and what an awesome choice it was! Being pescatarian and plant based respectively we enjoy going out on most Wednesdays and trying restaurants. There were 3 choices for vegans/vegetarians excluding sides, at E&O. My son had the potato/chickpea curry with a side of greens and rice. It sounded tempting but I went for the black bean tacos served with rice and a tomato & cucumber salad. I have lots of taco experience under my belt before going plant based from Memphis to 5 years in San Antonio. This was THE best tacos I have EVER had. I've had some seriously delicious street tacos but man, this was an altogether different and glorious experience. I cleared my plate, which is odd for me. We also ordered adult beverages. I took my Jamaican Lemonade to go because I was driving. She made it without ice so I am able to have it now at 6:30 pm as I write this. Again, a great experience with properly made drinks. I do look forward to the Jamican Punch but they were out today. Our meals were $10.90 each. A reasonable price for a big meal these days.

I love this place! This was my 1st, but definitely not last visit. The taste is almost authentic to Jamaican food. I had the Jerk infused burger 😋. My co-workers ordered the Rasta Pasta, Jerk Chicken Pasta & Grilled Chicken wrap. Everyone was more than satisfied. Our waiter, Corey, was really nice & attentive. I can't wait to go back. We went during lunch hours (Memphis downtown dinning) & it was not crowded. The prices are not expensive at all. I highly recommend this restaurant

My husband was celebrating his 40th birthday and Evelyn & Olive was very accommodating to our large party. The food and drinks were delicious!! I highly recommend the beef patty as an appetizer. I felt like I was back in the islands once I took a bite. Darrin is an incredible host. He took the time to thoroughly explain my options for making a reservation for a large party. He took care of us the day of our reservation and everyone loved him.

So my first time trying Caribbean food and I must say that I am impressed. I’ve heard about E&O for a while now and finally had the chance to try it. The appetizers was a Jamaican meat pie, very similar to an empanada with a different shape. The crust, was perfect, flaky and brown as perfect as could be. The flavor inside of the meat pie was definitely explosive. I was shocked it was amazing. Next up.. the salmon cakes. I did enjoy them they remind me of Down south Salmon croquettes but they were fried. On the menu for some reason they didn’t indicate that they were friend salmon cakes BUT nevertheless they were delicious and I was definitely happy about my decision. The grits were creamy and delicious. Last up is the main course what they are known for is the oxtails!!! The oxtails were so tender, the gravy was mouthwatering and the side items were just beautiful. They paired them perfectly with the plethora of seasonings and I couldn’t be anymore happy. I can’t wait to visit again

Got to visit the place for first time after hearing about it for years, and totally loved it!! We went to this restaurant on a Friday night. It was totally busy, but the servers were attentive. After couple of minutes of waiting, we were showed to our table. Our server was friendly and provided good recommendations on the items to be ordered based on our preferences. Her recommendations were superb! We ordered Jamaican Jerk chicken and Rasta Pasta. I loved the flavors of Jamaican Jerk chicken, it was spicy and on the same note it was sweet too. The contrasting flavors were a perfect blend. Rasta Pasta had a different note of flavor than the pasta which I had in a Italian restaurants. Some Jamaican spices were added to pasta and they complimented the pasta well. I like spicy food, so I enjoyed the food to the fullest. Do not forget to try their deserts- cream cheese pound cake. It was a delight to my sweet tooth!

To-go pickup The food was very flavorful and very tasty. However, every bite of my chicken curry had a bone in it, just be very careful eating this wonderful spiced dish. Pineapple slaw has a unique taste profile that keeps me coming back to kill the heat a tad. The meat pie and plantain are just the best.

Super friendly staff and personable. Efficient service. Ordered the potato and chickpea curry. So delicious. Comfort food- felt so full after. Very affordable. Plenty of vegan and vegetarian options. Would definitely return while in Memphis. Seated immediately on Thursday night- not too busy.

I had a wonderful time 3/18/17. The service was excellent and the atmosphere was cozy. Ms. Donna was so friendly and helpful. All of the staff were very professional. The food was absolutely delicious. I had the Curry Chicken with extra Scotch Bonnet, Callaloo and fish fritters! My Jamaican Rum punch reminded me of my trip to Montego Bay. I will definitely be going back.

Love Love Love Evelyn & Olive!! I love authentic Jamaican cuisine and they never disappoint! My friend never tried oxtails before so I suggested E&O to her, so we went on a Wednesday evening about 6:30 the vibe is always chill the music good, and the food was top tier!! I love Jamaican food so I had my friend try the oxtails and curry goat both were Bomb very well seasoned, nice portions to have you full, just overall comfort food! Love their cabbage so delicious they didn’t have any brown stew chicken today but if you come please try it, it’s so good! The curry goat is spicy but I love it, the oxtails were falling off the bone good all the food we ordered was great! Their drinks are on point, My friend had a Jamaican Rum Punch and I had an Island Lemonade(the silent killer) it’s the strongest drink they have soooooooo amazing! If you’re looking for authentic Jamaican Cuisine you have to try Evelyn Olive!!!! The waitress/bartender was sooo cool and funny!!

First, let me say, the food is GOOD. I frequented this establishment multiple times before the pandemic and was never disappointed. My go to is always the oxtails plate, fried green tomatoes and rum punch - it never misses. This is my first time going under the leadership of new owneers/managers and my time there was great. I will say that the building can use a little TLC, but it doesn't take away from the experience and the great cuisne you get from Evelyn & Olive. We love Darren and he always makes sure we are taken care of. You can tell that the staff there has built relationships outside of the workplace (maybe they are family) so you get some good engergy while youre there. Tables are spaced out enough so that you feel comfortable where you sit and the staff does wear their masks. 5 stars!
