Pizza here has been consistently delicious each time we've ordered it. Whenever I'm hosting something and don't feel like cooking, I let Applewood take care of dinner instead. The crust is thick and they are generous with toppings. However, the pizzas are on the doughier side so if you prefer thin-crust pizza this may not be your jam. Each time we've called in we haven't experienced a long wait-- our pizza has been ready for pick-up within 15-30 minutes max.
Check online to see if any coupons or promotions are available and beware of over ordering. I keep forgetting the slices are HUGE, a Large should be more than enough for 4 people. We've tried the Hawaiian, Menlo Combo, and chosen our own toppings and have been quite happy with the results.
I love the pizza (if you like a heavier style compared to NY pizza) and interesting toppings that reflect the German influence, and salads and great selection of German beer on tap.
Parking is a challenge because there is nothing really close. Sometimes the service at the drinks counter seems surly - can't tell if they are just being their Teutonic selves or if they are really irritated that you came and asked for something to drink sometimes. Atmosphere is basic but comfortable pizza parlor, and sometimes it seems like this is the place to run into friends and neighbors.
You have to get the hungarian garlic bread called Langos! It's super yummy! They have great pizza but I also like their pasta as well. They can be a little swamped at times so I'd definitely recommend calling in your order ahead of time! Also parking can be a challenge so have someone go with you and drive around the block while you pick up your yummy food.
The best crust, and consistantly yummy. 4-stars since the inside it is a little dark, old, and pizza parlor-ish.
Amazing pizza, fun place, a tad expensive
The scandinavian pizza is lovely.
