Went to have fajitas tonight and they were so yummy. Kenny was our server and he was AMAZING!!! He was always checking on us and he always had a smile on his face. Aaron the manager was also walking around checking on customers and he was very friendly. I would highly recommend this place!!!

This is a most excellent place to eat, drink and be merry. The staff is outstanding and always makes us feel welcome. Really miss the Charro beans though.

I’ve been to this location 3 times now and every time has been excellent service and excellent food! Reading other reviews, it seems like these people are in a different dimension. OTB is awesome!

I really enjoyed the table service and the waitress was attentive and delightful. Open space dining, bar area, and outdoor patio. They make the chips and salsa daily and I had 2 fish tacos with rice and beans. Fresh and tasty with generous portions. I couldn't eat it all lol. The prices are very good even comparable to drive thru joints and chipotle but this is dine in restaurant quality.

Wait staff today was very attentive and friendly. We had just come from canyon lake and were ready for happy hour. Ordered chimi, quesidilla, and tacos. All came prepared perfectly and seasoned superbly. Nice choice after a sweaty day.

I’ve been here a couple of times and always have fantastic service and the food is always amazing! The salsa is not too spicy but still has a kick! :) can’t beat the pick your own combo prices!

On the Border is a chain tex-mex restaurant that highlights the bar but has a good restaurant with decent food selections. The place is large with lots of seating. The staff is good. And the prices are reasonable for the large portions on the dishes. I used to go to On the Border about 25 years ago, but it was very popular and the quality of the experience, the wait and the over-worked staff caused the value go down. In the past year, since covid has abated, I returned. Surprisingly, I think the quality of the staff has improved, the best dishes are still here and prices have stayed reasonable. My go-to dish here is the Ranchiladas, which is a combo of a 9 oz mesquite steak (their fajita meat) and two cheese filled enchiladas. I love that spicy sauce it comes with. The other signature dish is there fajitas which I think is one of the biggest and best cooked of all restaurants. Their sides are decent too. The chips and salsa are strong with a nice zesty spiced up salsa. The monster chips are fun too. While I am not crazy about their rice and beans, the one really well-crafted item they have, as well, is the hand made tortillas, which I love. The staff we have regularly here are great. Today we had a lady named Terry who did an exceptional job of being helpful, efficient and very kind. After a long, tiring day of work (for both my wife and I) and having to eat late at 8:30pm, it was so nice to have such a positive person host and serve us this evening. I would have rated the restaurant a 3 star, but staff here is always so good that pushed it to 4 stars.

Many reviews on this page are negative, but I have to say we had awesome service from our server, Sylvia. She was attentive and cheerful, despite, seemingly being the only server for the whole outdoor patio area. The food was very good too.

First time visit to On The Border. Have to say, it was a nice experience. Chips were brought out to the table right away. The hot sauce is quite garlicky (which I happen to like) and more tasty than spicy. Our waiter was on top of things. Once we got our order in, it was on our table in hardly any time at all. We ordered two different entrees, then split them between the two of us. Both entrees were chicken and both were very good. Even joined via app and next visit will result in a free dessert. There's no doubt that we will be visiting again soon.

First time at this location for me. Chose the 3 tacos and a kids meal. It was a good food experience. And the service was pretty good. Our food took a bit, Which was a noticable experience, overall I was satisfied and the prices are a little above normal for the portion size, I portions size are good though, not too much, not too little.

Great food and amazing margaritas! They were very busy but still made sure to get drinks out right away. The menu has many different options than you see at most Mexican restaurants. Will be back.

Good food. Service slow during COVID. Need to pick one music, not one for kitchen and one for tables. Tables and floor need a little better attention between customers. Good margaritas. Went back today. Sylvia is awesome! Barria tacos were great, spicy margaritas fantastic!!

How did I not eat here sooner? Lol. I always pass by here on the way home. Decided to order out takeout and man was it delicious. 1: Friendly staff. Always asked me if I’ve been helped. 2: Fast service. Put in my order online and it gave me a 45 min estimate. I got there way before that and it was already to go. 3: The food… Everything from the generous portions of chips and salsa, to the entrees were excellent. Food tasted real good. There were some items I wanted to try, but didn’t get to. I’ll order those next time. The ones I did have though were absolutely fire. I’ll definitely be coming back!

IMO the chips and salsa have always been the best thing about OTB. Rice and tortillas are mediocre, however the grilled chicken is great and makes for some awesome Fajitas! Depending on when you go, a hostess can be MIA but.. eventually. Our servers here are almost always really, really good. Pop music playing is ..different. I'd definitely give this place a try if you haven't already.

Better than I remembered as far as flavor. I ordered a spicier salsa and the chef took it as a challenge sending out a ramekin of hacked up habanero and some other grilled pepper. I appreciated it because when I say "something spicier" that's what I mean. 👏 Warning to others that may just want it a bit spicier, say that. I gave 5 stars for service for one reason only, and that was the hostess. She was the busiest person in the whole place. She was greeting, seating, setting up to go, handing out to go, and in between, as if there were an in between on a Friday night, she bussed tables. The server was ok, pleasant enough, but the hostess Genevieve saved the day on multiple occasions! Thank you, Genevieve! The "Grande" nachos came out pretty but y'all there were exactly 12 chips on that plate! You can count them in the picture. 😮 🤦 The saving grace being that there was stuff on every chip. 😁

Update 7/19/21... still love everything here. We always have great servers. Look at this deal though - you buy one bowl of queso ($7.79), pay 1 extra dollar and you get a free bowl of queso every time you come in for 365 days! The queso is medium spicy but delicious. I added the happy hour menu too. The grande margarita on the rocks is a good solid margarita. Original review... I don't know why the overall score is 3.9. Otb definitely competes with other restaurants of this nature. We love eating local when we can, but the drinks here are strong - we spring for the borderita, which never disappoints and is $9.49. The salsa is medium spicy and gets a calm burn going. The signature queso has great flavor. Hubs loves the big bordurrito which is as long as your forearm! I've enjoyed the chicken border bowl and the Mexican grilled chicken. It's never too busy and service is pretty good - the staff help each other out. We've made this our go to Mexican place. Hopefully not too many people find out about it ;-).
