Came in in a Groupon and so glad we did! Service was great and food was fantastic. It was myself, my husband, my MIL and our two kids (3 &4). We were greeted and seated right away. There was a gentleman playing music just for us and came to the table which the babies enjoyed. Don't forget cash for a tip.
Our food took a bit but we had an appetizer to tide us over. The cheese crisp was gigantic and delicious.
My MIL and I had taco combos and my husband had a big seafood combo (playa bonita parrillada) that was kept warm at the table. He also had 2 mixed drinks which were good and strong. I ordered two kids meals with fries. One cheese enchilada and one bean and cheese burrito. Both were good size and I split them between the babies.
The restaurant and restrooms were both super clean. The only reason for 4 stars not 5 is because the seats in the booth were uncomfortable in shorts because the vinyl was cracking and there was a minor mistake with my meal (no rice or sour cream/guac with my combo when I specified rice and beans and the others said they were included). Not enough for me to complain or ruin our dinner.
Delicious food! I had the red snapper in garlic sauce. They give you the whole fish. If you don't prefer that, you can order tilapia fillets instead, dressed with the garlic sauce the same way. I prefer their flour tortillas over corn. Give them a try!
If you are dining here the toritos and margaritas are a must! The margaritas are huge and have great flavor. The toritos are pretty much the best appetizer one could ask for. Service was also great and staff was attentive!

Great food! The carnitas were amazing!!!! Waitstaff was very nice, not the most attentive, but not too bad. I will definately return :-)
Very delicious. Spacious dining area. We love the fajitas and fried ice cream. The house margaritas aren't bad either. Our server is always so nice to my girls. There is usually a guy there who plays the guitar table side if you like.
This place is great! I stumbled upon it while waiting for an appointment near by and brought my family back the next day to try it. Don't let the outside deceive you, the inside is very cute and nicely decorated; one of those little shack type places with great food! Amazingly authentic tasting food, good service and great margaritas! The portions are definitely worth the price and the service was delightful. Definitely would go again!
Amazing food with such flavor! I am so picky as my grandmother was a head cook, and they had great food and salsa. They offered more side add ons to make our experience great! Super happy with service and food. Will definitely be back! Had the fajitas special on Thursday night!
food and service was great. been here several times and every dish I've tried has been great. my server Vanessa was very friendly and attentive . she makes some very tasty margaritas too. will definitely keep coming back.
EXCELLENT Food and Seafood. Loved the shrimp cocktail best in Mesa, as far as the prices the food is worth it.... Service was good, owner is a very nice person , sat down with us while we ate. He was very respectable to my wife, enjoyed the food as well as his company. Highly recommend....

of regular places we want to go. Our food was delicious, the service was great and the music that came right to our table was awesome. One of the locals joined in with the guitarist from his table, very fun evening. (We are locals too.)
What a surprise, came in for taco Tuesday and the specials where great and the food better. Definitely will be headed back again as the margaritas where good and happy hour lasts till 7:00 PM. Shrimp and steak tacos where very good. the server was friendly and attentive and always smiling.
This is a great Mexican restaurant with a lot of options. They have great seafood as well. You will likely not have to wait at all for a table. Fajitas are off the chain. Great deals in happy hour. There is a live guitar man here and he is suave as the most interesting man in the world.
The food and service were both great. Our host Martin Junior seated us and recommended some of his favorite dishes that were wonderful. Lupita was our server. She was great too. Food was fresh and tasty. We will be back. Rita's is a hidden gem

When I entered the restaurant, I was surprised to see the high prices on the menu, considering it’s not a particularly fancy restaurant in a not particularly affluent neighborhood. As such, I went with one of the fish fillets as that wasn’t tremendously expensive. Of course, once I was served the food, I quickly understood the reasoning: the portion was massive, to the point that it would easily be sufficient for 2-3 meals (which I did wind up doing). More importantly, it was very tasty, with clearly fresh ingredients, mixed in a unique and attentive fashion, compared to using shortcuts to attempt to create flavor that occurs elsewhere. In addition, the service was tremendous where the waitress was very understanding and helpful when a mistake was made on my order and when I thought that I may not have enough cash to pay for the order. One piece of advice that I have is to ensure that you aren’t rushed when you are here, as it is quite an enjoyable experience that you should sufficiently absorb. Plus, the menu is a little confusing that may require extra time to understand and with the portions being so big, you will need extra time to eat and enjoy the meal!
Good food. We stopped in on a weekday around 11:15 and we were practically the only customers. The service was a little slow given that we were the only ones in there to pay attention to. The food also took a while to come out. I was impressed with the food though and the flavors were great.
Food was very good and reasonably priced. A gentlemen came to our table, similar to a mariachi player, sang a song while playing his guitar. I was surprised when he asked for $3.
Everything else about this place was charming. Don’t be fooled by the outside. It’s nice.
I went here for dinner with a family member and loved it. Definitely gave an authentic Mexican feel when I heard live mariachi music playing. Tortilla and salsa came with table and the guacamole dip was great. I ordered cheese enchiladas and forgot to get a photo 😅 loved it 🤤. Upon entering we were warmly greeted by Rosario who was also our server. They had a fajita special for two for the night for 17.00 and 2.00 Equis with the special.
They have a multitude of margaritas to choose from and a full bar and plenty of non alcohol selections.
We started with a dozen oysters that came out quick fresh and were delicious. Wonderful selection of seafood items and a nicely varied menu with very fair pricing for the amount and quality.
I am truly surprised they were not busy as we came in right at dinner time. The manager was also very kind and came by to ensure everything was perfect.
If you are a sports fan they have several tvs and a nice happy hour.
We will definitely be back...
