My visit to Com Tam Thuan Kieu was an absolute delight, and it's become my go-to spot for authentic Vietnamese cuisine, especially their specialty in broken rice dishes! The ambiance was welcoming, and the aroma of freshly prepared dishes instantly set the stage for a fantastic dining experience. What truly stood out was their exceptional attention to detail and the authenticity of the flavors. The broken rice dishes were simply outstanding! Each dish was beautifully presented and bursting with authentic Vietnamese flavors. The tenderness of the grilled meats, the flavorsome sauces, and the perfectly cooked rice showcased the chef's expertise. Not only were the dishes exceptional, but the service was also top-notch. The staff was friendly, attentive, and provided excellent recommendations. If you're a fan of Vietnamese cuisine or looking to explore something new, I highly recommend Com Tam Thuan Kieu. It's a gem for broken rice enthusiasts and anyone seeking a genuine Vietnamese culinary experience. Kudos to the team for maintaining such high standards in both food quality and service. I'll definitely be returning for more delightful meals

Top quality food. Broken rice dishes are one of my favorites. The owner and family are back and take care of you. Worth a stop if you are shopping at the market.

I’m from San Jose & was craving a vermicelli plate like I would always get back home. And be been to MeKong before but never to this place. SO glad I came in & will continue to be a customer! This plate satisfied all my craving & then some. Idk what were in the crunchy egg rolls it came with but my goodness they were good! $15 for this & I will be coming again soon to try the pork plate! Thank you for allowing me to feel a bit at home here 🥰

Cozy little Vietnamese restaurant in Mekong plaza across from the grocery store. My food was pretty good but the wife's was really fatty. With this covid scare I would think that the elderly gentleman that refills the water would work on his handling of the water cups and hand cleanliness. Would most likely try again. 10/2023 back for another try - solid 4 stars. Spring roll are great. Prices have gone crazy high btw.

Been here several times. Food is very good. Seems like the portions are getting smaller. I did have an experience that was uncomfortable. I got a feeling like I was not welcome. Just some mannerisms and attitude...not overt but more subtle. My wife picked up on it as well but it seemed to be directed towards me and not her.

Super friendly and delicious! Had a great experience here with everyone that helped us. Our food was delicious and came out fast. The best part was the soup I got with my meal and the grilled meats! A perfect balance.

The service is friendly and the bun is excellent (it's what we always get). The Vietnamese Iced Coffee is very tasty - but it had lots of ice, next time I'll ask for a smaller amount of ice. The way they prepare the steak is excellent. I've had the pork as well - both are great.

I was taken here not expecting this place didn’t have pho and honestly, it was nice to try something new. I got their udon bowl as an alternative and be warned, their soup bowl is BOILING hot. It stayed hot the whole time even when my relatives finished their food. Their shrimp paste and deep fried spring roll wrapper egg rolls are so delicious too.

This was our first foray into Vietnamese food. It was great, the server helped us order and we were pleased with our salads, the food was fresh and satisfying. I liked it that there wasn't as much salt as other Asian food we've tried. Highly recommend!

This is definitely one of my go-to places for Vietnamese broken rice (Com Tam)! Usually whenever I go to Mekong to get groceries, I would stop by one of the restaurants in the area and this is definitely one of my top picks!!! There is a side of pork bone soup served with your order. The soup is savory and delicious and the pork pieces just melt in your mouth! My favorite thing to get is the grilled beef with the shrimp paste wrapped in the tofu skin (Number 33). Usually all their rice dishes come with the scallion topping, shredded pork, and steamed egg. You can customize what meats or items you want from there by choosing from the menu or making substitutes! For those new to eating Com Tam, you are served a side of the fish sauce and you can pour it on top of your dish to your liking! All the items on the plate should have different tastes and textures yet still work together in perfect harmony! If you're interested in trying a variety of their meats/items, I would recommend getting Number 21, which comes with 10 different types of meats. The plate is huge and can easily serve 2 people. If you are eating it by yourself, you might just have a lot of leftovers for the next day 😉 Not only is their rice delicious, their Buns (rice noodle salads) are also on point! For when I'm in a mood for more veggies, I prefer getting the bun and everything comes out fresh and delicious. The flavors and textures are all there! Here are some of the toppings I recommend trying for those who haven't had Com Tam before: Lao Xu'ong (Chinese sausage), Chao Tom (Shrimp paste wrapped in sugar cane, here they take out the sugar cane to serve), Tau Hu Ky (shrimp paste wrapped in tofu skin), and then for the main meats I usually prefer the beef or the pork chop!

Great tasting grilled meats. I think it's best to eat anything grilled meat related dishes such as rice and rolls. Since the name of this restaurant contains "Com Tam" which means broken rice, they are more known for broken rice dishes. It can be busy during the weekend. Services is ok not quick. Great location too. You can go to the supermarket which is right next door.

I've visited Mekong Plaza numerous times since I was a kid, but it was only recently that I took the opportunity to dine at this restaurant. Surprisingly, I had unknowingly overlooked their food all this time; the moment I indulged in their dishes, I became immediately captivated. Not only is the food memorable and bursting with flavor, alongside the owner's generous hospitality and tireless patience, accompanied by a warm smile, left a lasting impression on me. I wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone and everyone looking for an outstanding dining experience!

This place is literally the best place to go for eggrolls, spring rolls and anything that has a side of nuoc mam to it ie. Com tam, bun, banh Hoi Their eggrolls are sooo crispy and huge, they use the clear wrapper. Sooo filling Don’t get me started with their com tam plates. Such a huge portion. Their bi, cha, and suong is literally sooo good. I see that a lot of one stars were given for their hours and that brings the rating down. Trust me and try this place !
