Mount Shasta Restaurant located on Highway 41 in Michigamme, Michigan is an extremely good restaurant. Everything about it is awesome. The only thing that we found is we thought it was pricey. We do recommend this restaurant.

We needed a bathroom on a long trek through the UP, and we stumbled upon this restaurant. It was close to lunchtime so we decided to make mealtime out of the emergency bathroom break. At first, I did feel like we were kind of unwanted. All of our questions were answered though, minus the overly-friendly-wait-staff smiles, but we don’t actually like people, so the service without a smile didn’t bother us at all. We asked what she recommended to eat and took her suggestions. Our group all tried different burgers and one went for the fish. Everyone was delighted. The food was delicious, and the prices were decent. Our group of five walked out with a bill under a hundred dollars, and the server got us all of the extras we asked for. By the end of our meal, she may have even cracked a smile—or she may have been relieved we were finally leaving. Meh…either way a smile is a smile : )

We ate at Mt Shasta in mid-August, 2023. We were the only customer for a mid-afternoon lunch/dinner. We were soon joined by plenty of diners. My wife and I had the Whitefish dinners and the soup and salad bar. The whitefish was the best we've ever had! The s/s bar was excellent, too.

I definitely need a 6th star for this restaurant I am 51 years old and this is the best tasting meal I've ever been served in a restaurant I now know how a 5 star meal should taste. I had the Whitefish Shasta. Atmosphere was very romantic.

Very nice place. It over looks a lake out the front window. Has a yard with a fire and different picnic tables. Staff was friendly. Had a chance to speak to the owner for a little bit. Was very nice. I got a burger and got huge portions. Couldn't finish the meal. Food came quick and was warm. Had a soup and salade buffet to start that was also great.

We stopped over here on our way back from a camping trip. Were surprised by how good the food was! Had the Shasta BLT sandwich and boneless chicken wings. Loved it! Excellent portion sizes too for hungry folk like us and really polite and helpful servers.

So much more than we expected, great menu, better prices. We seriously felt under dressed coming in off a day on the lake. Service was great, nice boat up dock. Much nicer than we ever expected. Our server Natalie did a great job.

Well done! Everything we had was just delicious! The servicers were super friendly and added to the locale. The renovations are perfect...a breathe of fresh air breathed back into a classic favorite... Anatomy of a Murder location. Will be back! Highly recommend!

The hostess was very rude. She didn’t want to seat us because we didn’t have a reservation (even though only 2 tables had reservations). Our waitress was very good. Food was decent.

Great food, superb service. The outdoor heated tent experience was a great way to get out for a family road trip. The ceasar salad was not the creamy, salty, anchovy flavor I expected but was okay. The shrimp, waffle fries and wife's baked potatoe were awesome.

The food was amazing and fresh, and all the staff were very kind and friendly. We drove up the northern route from California, and this was the best restaurant we went to over 2,200 miles!

Food was very good; a bit on the pricy side though. Very cozy right now as they have twenty igloos over their picnic tables for outside dining because of COVID along with Christmas lights and decorations.

Just a short 30 min drive from our home just west of Channing makes this our closest favorite restaurant to date. It’s 40 min to iron Mountain, 50 min to Marquette, and 30 min to Crystal Falls. Woodford Manhattan started the evening followed by whitefish chowder, fresh lodge whitefish for the main course and a great salad bar.
