I don't think I've ever had a bad meal (or pie) at Hubbard Avenue. And the staff is always prompt and friendly! But I don't like raisins in stuff. Can I get my oatmeal without raisins? If you've never been to Hubbard Avenue, you'll love the atmosphere, the staff, and especially the food and the pie! And even on a crowded day, parking is typically easy to find.
My entire family loves Hubbard Avenue Diner! Their extensive menu has something for everyone. We tend to go for breakfast on weekends. My get Mr. Chippy pancake, omelet for me, hubby says they have the best corned beef hash in town. But, they have a nice lunch menu, too (try the BLT!). This may sound odd, but they have the BEST applesauce I've ever had. I always get some to go when we are there. It's also a favorite place to take friends and family from out of town. I also can't review without mentioning their pies. I try to not order it too often, but when I do, my choice is the French Silk!
The food is delicious! Wait staff is so accomodating and friendly! I would definetly recommend this place!
Overall I enjoyed my first experience here.
I had pancakes and a side of corn beef hash. It was perfect! The corn beef hash was made exactly how I like it so I was ok paying $8.00 for the side dish. I would have gotten a side of bacon but at $3.60 for a side of bacon it also seemed a bit much. Other than the price of the side dishes the brunch was very good.
The service was friendly and prompt.
My wife had several vegetarian options to choose from. This was the main reason we picked this restaurant. We were not disappointed.
Had the best Mac and cheese, with diced chicken breast for dinner, and a piece of pie, warmed cherry pie with vanilla ice cream.......vote for best pies/cheese cakes...
First time here for breakfast--fantastic food and service despite a 40 minute wait for a table. Grabbed a counter seat. The chocolate scone was to die for.
I keep saying I'll try this place or that. I keep ending up here. Good food, adequate parking, friendly servers. It's casual comfort food, done well.
Excellent!! Great food and service. Awesome baked goods. All good, highly recommend.
The food is amazing. My Wife and I ordered our food, and it came out in less than 10 minutes. We also ordered the Creme brûlée pie, and it was delicious!!!
The hostess received us with a wonderful attitude.
Our server Marlene always had a smile on her face and a great attitude.
We ended up taking more pies for our kids that Marlene recommended!
Thank you Hubbard Avenue Diner for the great experience!!!
Hubbard is always an excellent experience. I rarely visit Madison without making a stop. I’ve never had a bad meal here ♥️
O. M. G. My new favorite is the Crème brûlée pie. To die for. This place is so good! Great prices.
Always worth the wait! Great service! Wonderful place to meet family and friends! We love the potato pacakes. Awesome pies and cheesecakes!
Solid place for lunch with a large menu selection. I had the black bean burger as well as the huevos rancheros, and they were both delicious in the most classic way. They also served my food at a very fast speed, which was excellent. We also had the key lime pie and it was pretty good as well. Majority of the items on menu you will be able to find in other diners or breakfast places, and this place prepares them very similarly as those other places. For a town like Middleton, having Hubbard Avenue Diner is excellent as it serves many people here.
Great lunch options and very good pies. I had the club and would happily order it again. My daughter enjoyed the French toast and silk pie.
Very nice atmosphere, “feels good.” This was my first time. I happened to be up in town and googled for a breakfast restaurant and was only about a mile away. I only had oatmeal will milk, raisins, brown sugar, coconut and walnuts, but it was very good portion. Everyone I interacted with on the staff was professional and friendly. My only criticism is that I wish the waitress had been a bit quicker when she was asked for extra napkins, extra brown sugar etc. But that is a minor quibble. When I’m up in the area again I will definitely stop by to try more on the menu.
The Diner was great! We grabbed seating near the cooks window. The food looked and smelled so good! At the window, tbere was a very capable lady (maybe the manager). She was guiding the cooks and wait staff, but also stacking the plates on trays for staff to take to tables 👀 just wow! And everyone moved around each other (in a tight space) like a well oiled machine. We were impressed. Also they have alcohol for adults and strawberry malts for kids... 😁🤣😭 i lies i lies, they`re both for meeee!!!
They have breakfast all day, and dinner options. The fish fry was one of the best I`ve had in Dane county. There`s a pie display and other treats. Give a try!
Awesome experience, we will definitely be back soon!
We found the diner last month while visiting the Mustard Museum in Middelton. Love the atmosphere and the pie selection! Today was a must visit on our return to the area and we were not disappointed! Great service and the Huevos Rancheros were just as good as the last time! Highly recommend!!!
The food here is always delicious! Tried several different dishes and they were all amazing. Some of the best food I've had. My boyfriend and I love this place. Great service and food!!
Very happy with the food and service. We ordered an omelette, fries, avocado benedict, hashbrowns, coffee, and french silk pie. Coffee was actually pretty good (they use Collectivo), the biscuit was phenomenal, and we were very happy with everything else. Our waitress was very friendly and understanding of us needing time to decide a few times and didn't rush us at any point. I love the pie themed shirts all over! We would definitely come back.
Update: we came back! Farmer's skillet, chocolate chip pancakes (don't worry, the chocolate is inside), biscuit, fries, and another coffee. Happy as before with everything!
