Definitely a gold gem. The restaurant has so much character and the ambiance is incredible. It's a small place and hidden in the back. The history on this place is just amazing. The food is good and the drinks are on point. Definitely a spot to hit up.

I went to this establishment on 03/24/2022. Upon arriving I was greeted by friendly hostess that seating me and my sister. They were so polite and helpful. The waitress was incredibly knowledgeable of the menu and helped guide me to make a great dinner choice. Once the food arrived it was hot and the aroma of the food immediately greeted us prior to even tasting anything. The feeling of your mouth watering at the anticipation of a delicious food was definitely happening. I enjoyed the Hush Puppies, very tasty. It wasn't dry inside and didn't require water for assistance. The fried green tomatoes were also delectable. Didn't have a mushy center, it was firm and flavorful. Last our main entrées consisted of the waitress recommended Lobster and Shrimp Mac And Cheese! Absolutely superb! 10/10! Flavor was great, lobster was tender and in each bite I took. My sister enjoyed the Chicken and Waffles which was the perfect combination of sweet and savory. White chicken breast over a homemade waffle with candied bacon, cooked to perfection. I implore everyone to take an opportunity to check them out.

I absolutely love Brunch but wanted to try the dinner menu! The food was great. I especially loved the mango jerk wings. Luckily we were able to find a spot in the rear of the building. Sometimes the lot is full and we utilize the street parking near the homes on the opposite side of the road.

Ashley, one of the owners, is such a welcoming person. I'm so glad my boyfriend and I were able to get to know her personally during our first visit when she came over to our booth. We also met Jennifer, the chef, and she's AWESOME! Shawn, my boyfriend, ordered the chicken biscuit and gravy and when Jennifer came out to check on us when we talked with Ashley, Shawn mentioned how much he loved the sausage gravy and she went above and beyond when she brought over a generous bowl more of it. We have Anonda as our server and she's just as welcoming and hospitable. She told us about the peach waffle cobbler that Jennifer made for everyone today and how delicious it was for the staff who tried it. Super personable and totally sold me on trying the peach cobbler waffle. I wasn't feeling waffles but I'm so glad she convinced me to try it. I LOVED it! It was sweet and fulfilling with small beignets on top. Not to mention, Shawn's meal was savory. So you have sweet or savory to choose from. The owners, Matt and Ashley, found an amazing chef in Jennifer. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming with hospitable staff. Overall, if you want to feel welcome, enjoy a quality meal at a reasonable price, and love an atmosphere the owners poured their heart into, this is the place for you. The bourbon was delicious! Shawn tried the bourbon old fashioned and it even came with a piece of bacon submerged. I haven't even mentioned how beautiful and intimate the aesthetic of the restaurant is. Ashley mentioned how she worked on the wall where our booth is when the pandemic began. It all started with a bottle of bourbon. The restaurant truly has a lot of personable and vintage touches while remaining modern and enjoyable. 1861 is definitely my favorite place to be now. Shawn and I can't wait to come back again

PLEASE THUMBS UP IF HELPFUL This was a great meal. First of all it all looked too good to pick just one meal. My friend and I ended up picking on sweet and one savory meal and split them both. Would definitely recommend trying and going back. It has such a interesting style with brick. I love how the decor also served as functional table items.

Attention Foodies! Put this place on your list! Intimate and quaint atmosphere. Food that is bursting with flavor. There is something on the menu for every palate. Even got a treat with live music. Visited with friends from out of town who said they would come all the way back just to dine there again! Drinks were so dope!! Had the Wu Tang forever (See menu) and it’s a must if you love Bourbon. Waitstaff was professional, pleasant and attentive. Owner was warm and delightful as well. This was my second time. Will definitely be returning soon!

I did not have a reservation for Sunday brunch however we were still able to be seated at the bar which had comfortable rolling chairs and a nice vibe. We got there as soon as they opened so we got to engage with the bartender who was extremely friendly, professional, and knowledgeable. The big easy bellini and the bloody mary were so good. The peach beignets were amazing. I got the breakfast bowl for my entree and wish I had gotten something else. The eggs were dry and they charge additional for “fried chicken” to be added however it was just a few pieces of what looked like cut up chicken tenders. My boyfriend got the Catfish and grits which was delicious.
