Mark's is very popular and seems crowded all the time. Good family place. We started with the fried pickle chips and they are different from the norm and very good. Sliced thin, almost like potato chips, the dill taste comes through in a full way. And, you get a huge basket full. They only offer baby back ribs (I prefer full spare ribs) but the meat is nicely smoked and moist. Then, they finish them off on a grill for a quick char and glazed with sauce. If you want to control the sauce, order them dry. Another of their specialties is chicken wings. They come lightly smoked, coated and fried then glazed with a honey sauce. They're pretty good, but get rich. (Good cold the next day.) They give an ample side portion of sweet potato fries. They seem to have the sweetness amped up with a little added sugar. Green beans are fully cooked with a little smokey meat and the slaw has a touch of apple in it. Good. They have limited beer and wine available. Prices are competitive with most BBQ places and service is top notch. Lots of servers moving all the time and keeping track of their tables. Good fundamentals. Mark's is quite popular for a reason; good food and service for a fair price.

BBQ is the name of the game. Rustic feel inside but not comfortable. The food is good and selection of sauces is good. Service is okay. Fast to table.
A local gem and known BBQ joint, this place even pleases a picky vegetarian! Down home country cooking, Mark's knows delicious and simple food. I have been going to this place since I was a kid...love the pigs outside of the restaurant--great photo opportunity!
Had the pork sandwich with fries and cole slaw. Pretty good. Great prices for portions. Went for lunch and service was a little slow but other than that I would recommend.
Chose the #1 combo meal tonight. Very tasty and full of flavor. Wings were juicy, brisket with the original BBQ sauce was finger-lickin good. Ribs topped it off!
I am a barbecue snob and this place hit it the nail on the head on every one of the recipes we ordered. We had a party of four and we all shared entrees to create out own sampler. I was most surprised that we could get brisket this good north of Texas. Well done!
A great place to dine. While there was a wait, we were so glad we stayed. A great server, and great food. Our first time, so she explained everything on the menu. After our meal, the waitress brought all of us a slice of their famous buttermilk pie and a bottle of our favorite BBQ sauce.... On the house. I'll be back. Great Job!!!

Amazing BBQ. Ginormous portions and awesome service. I had the worlds largest BBQ sandwich which was nothing less than fantastic. Our server, Leah, was super friendly. Free dessert and a free bottle o BBQ for first timers. Can't beat that.
Solid Baby Back Ribs. With the atmosphere of an old feed store, this is not a place for the white shirt and tie crowd but the ribs were meaty, tender and tasty. Service was excellent as well. I'll return next time I get to Louisville.
Really good place. This one is pretty good. I've been coming here for years and the service is always really good. I did come in I'd say about a month ago on a date and we didn't realize they were closing in about ten minutes but they were still really nice to us and gave us really good service. I will definitely be coming back!
Ejoyed the Ribs. My one and only trip here was pretty good--solid smoked ribs and sides were well prepared. There's much better BBQ to be had outside Louisville, but this wasn't bad. Worst part is the parking around the restaurant.
Honey Wing Fan!. I love honey wings. Crispy, spicy and sweet deliciousness. I know the pulled pork is excellent, but honey wings are a must for me. I also enjoy the smokey beans, potato salad and fried corn on the cob. Friendly service and casual atmosphere make Mark's a great meal anytime.
The Place for BBQ. This is one of my favorite restaurants. Always good, clean and consistent pulled BBQ. I have rarely ever had fat or tough meat in a meal from Mark's. The ribs fall off the bone and will leave you salivating for more. The White Chicken Chili is always a welcome treat in the fall, with just enough heat in it to warm you a bit on those cold days. Sweet Tea, like Sweet Tea is supposed to be. Top your meal off with a slice of buttermilk pie, or save a little money and buy the whole pie if more than a couple people are getting some. You can always count on Mark's.
Some of the best BBQ, no doubt. Pulled pork and chicken, slathered in their sauce... Doesn't get much better than that. Nothing more to say; it's a slice of heaven. Getting the food catered for a party is even better. Get a big take-out box full of the meat, a couple packs of buns, a bottle or two of sauce and you're set!
Monday Nights. Come in on Monday nights for a free dessert, including their signature Buttermilk Crunch, a slice of pie in a mug of soft serve ice cream.
Good BBQ, Decent Value. My kids love the burgers, and we all inhale the onion straws. We usually get the BBQ sandwiches; the meat is flavorful and the original sauce has a mustard-base, very tasty.
Great ribs!!. Mark's is my "go to spot" whenever family & friends visit from out of town. The ribs are soooo delicious and never tooo chewy like other restaurants (Famous Dave's). I also love all their sides and the texas toast is yum. For dessert the butter crunch pie is Out of this World!! They have free desserts one night and kids eat free another. I Love this place and would find it hard for anyone to be disappointed. The chicken salad is awesome too with their homemade dressing. Absolute win for dining. Oh yeah eat the fries too, yummy (:
We came back to the feed store 20 years after our first visit. We were newly married and lived down the road and thought we would give it a try. It quickly became our favor restaurant. The chicken sandwich is fantastic and the cole slaw can not be beat. The onion straws are delicious! We were nervous that it was not going to be as good as we remembered but it did not disappoint. The line was out the door bur the food was exactly the same. We have lived in many different states and eaten at our fair share of highly rated restaurants but the feed store still sit in the top 5 best eats.
Fried Pickles. Absolutely the Best! I have tried these at BBQ establishments all over the South east , no one even comes close. Everything at Marks is good or great the service,the food ,the atmosphere, and the Management.Great Job Mark's !

Best BBQ around!. We came in town for the derby and ate at Mark's for lunch on a Sunday. I had onion straws, BBQ chicken, and fried corn on the cob. All were delectable! The staff there was SO friendly as well. The manager gave us a free t-shirt and some BBQ sauce, which by the way, is my favorite BBQ sauce EVER! If we come back to Louisville, we will definitely eat at Mark's again.

The original Mark's is the best. I took a small group to Mark's Friday night. We got there after 8:00 and there was still a 15-minute wait for a table. But there were a few seats at the bar and the time went quickly. The rest of the group had never been to Mark's so I introduced them to The World's Largest Bar-B-Q Sandwich and Mark's Baby back Ribs. We had great service and everyone enjoyed the food. This is the original Mark's and the building really was an old feed store, so the atmosphere is perfect for a busy barbeque joint with some of the best barbeque in the Louisville area.

Thompson once duly noted in a 1963 article, this city is known as "The Gateway to the South." For many years, Louisville also has been the gateway to good barbecue. This BBQ is soooo good! The pork and brisket are so tender, and the wings crispy and flavorful! The red potato salad is incredibly flavorful and has herbs and flavors that I can't recognize but am in love with! The onion straws is a massssssssive basket and definitely for sharing. I'm only in town for a short while and I am so happy that I tried this place!! All this food for $25, too!

Quick service at this location. Food is always good no matter what I order. The only reason I gave this visit a 4 star is because my portion of pork BBQ was a lot smaller than the time before. Otherwise, everything else was good.

Delicious as always. My wife and i love the brisket and corn bread. It's our go to spot for good food and good service.
Food was great. I tried the spicy fries and the pulled chicken BBQ sandwich. My meal was delicious! My girlfriend got the chicken tenders meal with the cornbread salad and sweet potato fries. She really liked her meal as well. Not overpriced, for the both of us with 2 drinks cost $24
Always good food. Since the shutdown, I have called and gotten takeout from Mark's at least 6 times. Great BBQ. I like getting the family packs, which include 2 sides and your choice of meat, all of which are good.
