It's been a while since a Thai place has piqued my interest, let alone wow'ed me. But Siam Paragon did it for me tonight. I have yet to find a Thai place (ever) that has had duck on the menu, let alone three different dishes with it in it, but T.P. does. So I decided to order the duck curry dish and was extremely pleased with it. For a meat item that is as rare and expensive as duck, there was actually a very large amount of it in here. I love feeling like I got what I paid for. The savory-ness of the curry was nicely complimented with a fruit that I've never had before called leyeches (which has a texture not dissimilar to pineapple, but not as sweet). The uniqueness of it alone deserves a trip to this place.
Everything in their entree had a wonderfully fresh taste and smell to it and made me very happy that I chose this place over the seafood place nextdoor. But before I left, I had to check out their ice cream since they claim they make it in-house. I chose their coconut which was a tough choice because they also had ice cream that had that unique fruit, lecheyes, in it. But ultimately the ice cream was worth it and I was very happy that I held off on the appetizer to finish with something this satisfying.
For a Friday night, this place was pretty empty, but the ambiance, cleanliness and friendly staff should keep the crowds coming in after they hear about how good of a place this is. I'd come back again!
Excellent pad thai. Large portion, good texture and spicing. The papaya salad not to my taste. Summer rolls need the supplied peanut sauce. Did not try anything else.
By far this thai food is the best in the richmond area. Eveything from thai spicy salads to traditional curry dishes. Top notch service in a convenient location.
Did the trick.. As is often the case when I'm in Richmond, I stopped into Siam Paragon with very little time to spare. This was all the more true because I waited outside for fifteen minutes until they unlocked the door at 5:00. It's fine to have a down period between lunch and dinner services, but they might have at least turned the "open" sign off.
The waitress was pleasant and willing to accommodate my need to be in and out. The decor was rather awful: bench seating, neon lighting and acrylic tables in rainbow colors that reminded me of nothing so much as oil on pavement. Still, all the food was passable, and it arrived in a hurry. Sometimes, that's good enough. I don't think I'd make a special trip to Siam Paragon, but might very well stop in again for a quick dinner.
Tasty food, good service. We had a late lunch here on last Saturday around 3pm.
For appetizers we had Kanom Jeeb which was good and Tod Mun Goong which we'd never had before and won't order again (seemed to be perfectly cooked and served with an appropriate sauce but we didn't care for the texture of the minced shrimp).
For entrees, we had Pad Pra Krow and Pad Thai and were pleased with both. I ordered mine "hot" and found it to be less than as spicy as I preferred so I know I need to order a level or 2 spicier next time (they have many levels of "hotness" so you can get what suits you).
Good meal, reasonable prices, good service.

Fine dining in the restaurant. Don't order take-out, though... I had two separate orders but it turned into three at pick-up time, and I was hung up on before I could give my contact info! The servings were small- only three pieces of tofu in my panang curry, and only four pieces of medium-small shrimp in my hysband's pad prik pow ($17+)!! I will find another Thai restaurant to order take-out from!
By far, the best Thai I've found on southside! Waitstaff is outstanding. Food is impeccable. (save room for desert)
Despite the unhappy waitresses, the food was excellent. Service was decent, the food took a while to get to the table but was fresh and tasted amazing. I would definitely eat there again.
A Pleasant Surprise. We went here for lunch on Saturday because the place we were planning on going to was closed. Our meals were delicious. I got the Pad Thai, my son ordered the Green Curry. The Pad Thai had a wonderful rich, almost smoky flavor to it. The Green Curry had just enough spice to it, and the veggies were cooked perfectly. Both dishes had a good amount of chicken. We got the brunch price, which was 10.95. For this price, we got very generous portions. The service was prompt and courteous. The decor is super-cute, very colorful and happy. The whole dining room was squeaky clean too.
The only thing I did not like was the dinner prices. Thai food for $17-18 or more per plate just seems a little high for me.
Overall, our meal was very enjoyable. I would totally go back again (for brunch, not dinner!)
Great First Time Experience!!. Growing up in a Thai household, Thai food was readily accessible - but so was Thai take out and dining out since we lived in the DC area. After moving to Richmond, it was quite a challenge (and at times, an adventure) to find some good Thai that rivaled my mother's cooking. This was our first time at Siam Paragon and we weren't disappointed. We typically dine family style ordering several different salads and appetizers along with our main course. Everything was delicious and even pleased my mother - the toughest critic!
Here's what we ordered - for curious minds:
Nua Dad Diew (Sun Dried Beef)
Nua Nam Tok (Flank Steak Salad)
Som Tum (Papaya Salad - this is also Gluten Free)
Lad Na w/ Pork (Flat Rice Noodles, Pork, Broccoli & Gravy)
Pad Kra Pow w/ Chicken (Basil-Veggie Stirfry w/ Chicken)
PS - for those who had been to the Pocono Green location, but were not aware that they had moved, their new location is off of Midlothian Trnpk and Old Buckingham Rd - in the Midlothian Village Shopping Center to the LEFT of Food Lion.
This is my favorite restaurant in Richmond. I have had probably half the menu and have yet to be disappointed. My favorite dish is the pad woon sen.
Best Authentic Thai Food in Richmond!!. Thai Iced Tea - "A Must Try"
Mango & Sticky Rice (dessert) - "A Definite Must Try"
Service/People - "Superb"
We normally get the Pad Kra Pow (Basil Chicken, Basil Beef, or Basil Shrimp or mix em' up!) - We are HOOKED FOR LIFE! : ) Nice relaxing atmosphere.
Very, very good.. The first trip was a bit of a disappointment with the pad thai missing many of the garnishes that make it such a delightful combination of textures and flavors. But on the second trip, our food was awesome. My companion's pad see ew will be his new go-to takeout for this area. The ratio of beef, broccoli and tender yet chewy wide noodles was just perfect. My red curry chicken was so good that it makes a person want to have one of those "When Harry Met Sally" diner moments or to pick up the bowl and lick it clean. It was THAT good.
Midlothian Thai? YES!. My cure for a cold? Spicy food! My friend and I wanted to try a thai place outside of the city and Siam paragon was a great choice.
The interior was clean and bright. The waitstaff was awesome! Very friendly and willing to accommodate special requests.
I tried an appetizer special, fried green beans. They were crispy and coated with a light tempura style batter. The pad thai was EXCELLENT and a huge portion too! Definitely split this with someone or plan on taking home leftovers.
First time here and that was one of the best Red Curry I have ever had
This is the best Thai in Richmond. The food is so good & comforting. The staff is always amazing & helpful. The atmosphere is cozy & inviting. Highly recommended!
Amazing, cant tell you what I got other than the Sea War salad, Crispy Banana A La Mode, and the Drunken Noodles as I can't pronounce the appetizer & soup but it was delicious regardless.
I had a Thai Tea for a drink, and the heat on the dishes is quite a lot, this would be a phenomenal place on a winters day. The thai Tea really helped offset the spice. The first three dishes I had increased in spiciness gradually until the Drunken Noodles arrived whereupon you could SMELL the spice coming off it I called it & ordered desert after running out of iced tea.
The desert was delicious, and a nice pallete cleanser after the raw heat put out by the dinner, first time trying Thai food, and definitely won't be the last.
I accidentally stopped in to this lovely restaurant. I was to go next door, but could not turn around once I entered. The tables are glittery but not distractingly so. I had the summer rolls as an appetizer and they were yummy; Simple and delicious. For an entrée I had the Ginger Perfect Dinner with shrimp. The sauce could have been thicker, shrimp were a good portion and cooked well. Overall the flavor was good. I suggest you have the Thai iced tea with dinner.
My waitress was pleasant and took the time to ensure I was doing well. Service was prompt. I wish I got her name, but if she reads this, thank you for a great experience.
I will definitely make a stop her again to try their other dishes.
The interior isn't posh, by any means, but the food is great!! Drunken Noodles all the way, and Crispy spring rolls are a great way to kick off the meal. I am sure the rest is good too if my meal was any indication!!
Ordered the pad thai, pad see ew, spring rolls and chicken satay. Everything was delicious. I'm used to the prices being a bit cheaper but the portions were good. We ate dinner and lunch off of what we ordered.
Everything we had was tasty. Surprised to see a few Indian and Chinese items on the menu. They were out of samosas so we got crab rangoon.
Purchased a takeout order for dinner this evening and was really pleased with the clean restaurant and friendly staff!..The food we ordered was delicious!..Didn’t know really what to try first?..Will definitely be back soon!..The wonton soup was the best I’ve ever had and the Green Curry Chicken was exceptional!!..The Tasty Cashew Chicken was a little over breaded but also good and the Thai Pork Fried Rice was really good too!..Look forward to our next dinner at Siam Paragon!!
Atmosphere was not great, but the service was wonderful. Food was average, I got the paid Thai and the spice level was just perfect but overall flavor was just average. Would return but not my first choice.
Good cuisine! Ordered the Pad Thai with Tofu.
Excellent flavour. However, will not order tofu next time -- the tofu is more like tempeh, so it must be dried instead of normal squishy tofu.
My lunch today was fantastic...ask and you shall receive...asked for extra spicy pad thai and they hooked me up...so good...my guest was very impressed. Service was fantastic...will be back very soon. Recommend highly.
EASILY the best thai spot in the Richmond area. So lowkey and unassuming but their knowledge of thai cuisine truly speaks for itself. The ingredients taste fresh and light without compromising any flavor. I’d highly recommend adding some spice to your dishes if you enjoy spice because these folks aren’t afraid of a little kick. I love these hole in the wall type spaces that you’d never know are true gems until you give them a shot. I can’t wait to eat here again!
