Wonderful dining experience. Charming atmosphere with very attentive wait staff. The 4 course meal was delicious 😋 and reasonably priced. We will definitely go back. My husband and I had a drink on the patio and enjoyed the beautiful grounds before going into the dining room.

I wanted to take my mother to a 4 course dinner. We chose to go here despite it being an hour away due to the high reviews. The place is absolutely beautifully located and adorable. However, the food was mediocre at best. There is a wide variety of entrees to choose from, which was great for our family. The restaurant APPEARED very promising. HOWEVER, we will never return. I am giving them 3 stars, for the décor, the menu, and the cat.
Our reservation was for 6:30, we weren't sat until 6:45 due to no tables available. Annoying, but understandable. This would not have been a downfall if our waitress was accommodating. We ordered drinks and waited quite a bit for them. The bread was great and could have held us over the 45 mins we waited for any food to hit the table, but we were never offered 2nds. The 5 of us got 4 course meals. The appetizers were okay. Nothing exciting. The salads were ugly. Although my raspberry vinaigrette was fantastic, it looked like I had a cup of mixed vegetable thrown on a plate. The appearance wasn't appetizing at all. The Caesar and blue cheese dressings were overly salty. The entrees came in good size portions. The chicken parm and picatta were okay. The filet was complete unseasoned and rather flavorless. The carrots were glazed in a sauce that wouldn't belong on anything and the ratatouille looked like slop and the texture was far overcooked. The ganache was solid ganache. No cake inside or anything. Maybe I was expecting something else, I don't know. But after spending over $200 on dinner you wouldn't think we'd be leaving hungry.

I did a wedding gig here. The grounds are very photogenic and provide many backgrounds. The waitstaff is topnotch and they accommodate with Bravado style. My music loved it.

We had a wonderful Thanksgiving dinner at Mile Away. Each of our meals was prepared to perfection and the escargot was the best I've ever eaten. Our waitress Alex was also very gracious and made us feel like family.
It's sad that we found this lovely place just as they are switching to an event only venue.

With a party of six. My duck was excellent. In our party, some of the sides were not warm enough, when they should have been hot. My maple drizzled carrots had zero maple. Bread pudding was excellent, that's where all the maple went.. Salad with bleu cheese dressing was good. Chicken vegetable soup had some unique and very good spicing.
Some party members enjoyed their meal, one was very upset with their steak, to the point that the mood at the table was affected. The steak ordered medium well was very pink. The steak was returned with little improvement. Was also inconsistent in being able to cut. Some portions of the steak were pretty touch, while other sections sliced nicely. General taste of steak was below average. Since my duck portion was small as expected, I finished of the steak.
Vegetable ravioli was expected to be ravioli with vegetable filling. That was not what I call ravioli and it had zero stuffing. Other entrees brought smiles to members of our party.
Service was excellent. We sat in a corner with many windows so that the lighting was excellent. Even though crowed, the noise level was quite low, easy to carry on conversations.
Overall, expected better for the others in the party. Being my first trip here, I'm good overall with the Mile Away.

A definite must ! My fiancé and I enjoyed a private dinner in the back corner, where we watched a beautiful wedding take place in the garden. Our waitress was fantastic and the food was very good. He had the prime rib and I had a special which was the grilled swordfish (which was unfortunately a bit dry). Our waitress recommended The lemon marscapone cake...it was to die for! Why we haven't come here before is beyond me. It will definitely become a regular dinner date location for us!! We both loved it!

Recently had my wedding there. Not only are the grounds beyond beautiful, but the staff was extremely helpful! Sandy went above and beyond for us! She was everywhere from setting up to taking things down. Josh was also very helpful answering any and all questions super fast leading up to the day! I highly recommend this place!

I can't thank Josh and Christina and all the staff at The Mile Away enough for helping me put together and make my wedding on 9/30/16 so memorable. The food was amazing, service was on point and the gardens where beautiful. I couldn't ask for anything more for my wedding and would highly recommend The Mile Away for not only dinner but also anybody who is looking for a venue for a wedding.

I'm a Milford native, my husband and I live a few towns away. We like to choose the Mile Away, especially for special occasions. We've brought both sets of parents there. The food and service is always excellent. My husband and I had our Thanksgiving meal at the Mile Away in 2016. It happened to be my 62nd birthday that day so I wore my best dress. When we arrived, the hostess commented on my outfit. When I told her it was my birthday, she seated us at a lovely corner table, with a window that overlooked the garden. We each chose the traditional turkey dinner and it was just as we've grown to expect from this fine establishment. We'll definitely be back, the garden must be lovely in spring.

It's a beautiful very old inn and restaurant nestled in a country setting. We reserved the private room for our function and the service was excellent. The menu selection was varied with interesting four course pairings. I had the lamb chops and they were cooked to perfection. Don't forget to save room for dessert! The chef visited us to announce his fresh apple tart which I got and was just delicious! A great experience!
