First time ever here, came on a lunch date with a friend and was extremely impressed with the food. I'm not super explorative with food, but the mac and cheese was to die for, and don't order dessert if you're expecting something small - the key lime pie was a whole meal in itself! And our waiter, Andrew, was such a delight the entire time. Can't wait to be back!
Nice atmosphere, attentive and quick wait staff and very good food. My friend and I both had hamburgers, and they were done exactly the way we asked for them. The sweet potato fries were excellent! I asked our waitress for a recommendation for a dark malty beer, and she recommended one that was outstanding! I highly recommend Cafe Hollander-Downer.
Really great place. Host was really cool and attentive same as our waiter. Tasty food. Went with our 3 year old and all had a really nice meal. Would highly recommend.
We went there for Sunday Brunch and loved it! We all enjoyed the gourmet choices. I highly recommend the sweet potato frittes! I also got the Milwaukeen bloody mary and it was awesome. Great experience!
Great food, and very good service. After graduation dinner, we had a large group. No one was upset about service, our server kept us in control, apps arrived in a timely manner drink service and entre's were timely also. Helped us take our family and friend table pictures. All around a good time and great food and atmosphere.
Oh my heavens!!! � � � Fabulous service, food, ambiance!!! Drinks were great as well. It was my birthday and they were very kind!!! Sure we had to wait for 45 mins but it was 12:30on a Sunday. Totally worth the wait!!! New favorite place when in that area... Bravo ���������
It was awesome! The food was delicious! The staff were great even the ones that weren't taking care of us. Our waitress, Angie, was delightful. I'm going back the next time I visit my Grandaughter, Toria.
We went at prime time on a Sunday we were seated immediately our server was to our table within minutes to take our order. Our drinks and food came within minutes. The service & food were both excellent! Can't wait to return.

The food was phenomenal. I had eggs on a bed of quinoa with butternut squash and mushrooms. Delicious. Oh, and the "Godfather IV" bloody mary was excellent. The staff had wonderful enthusiasm and our waitress had awesome personality while delivering great service. We had ridden there on our Harleys on a gorgeous day, and sat outside. Loved it.
Great menu options. Very fresh. Avocado toast came cool so if you like it warm just ask. Good dipping sauces. Overall....great place!
We came here twice over the weekend due to the large outdoor area and number of outdoor tables. Both visits were for brunch and excellent experiences both times. The service is friendly, welcoming and efficient and the food delicious. Only criticism and preventing a 5 star review is that the margaritas were not amazing. I had the guava margarita Saturday which was great but the classic margarita a bit average.Recommend and would go back.

I had the best experience at this restaurant!! The managers name was Jalen. He greeted us and showed us to our table. Such a great guy. Our servers name was Jake. He was friendly, attentive and professional!!! Our drinks came out quickly and were strong and delicious!! Our food also came out in a timely manner and was hot and delicious. The entire experience was pleasant and fun and I can’t wait to come back again!
If you find yourself in the heart of downtown Milwaukee in the wintertime with a group of friends or family I'd highly recommend booking one of their heated igloos to dine in. The view is especially pretty at night with all of the festive lights. Café Hollander offers the most affordable package for igloo dining in the city. You can rent the igloo for $50 to host your party for an hour and a half and that includes two free drink flights (we went with hot cocoa and sangria). They had a variety of delicious dishes and our experience was wonderful. What a fun and unique way to celebrate the season!

Very relaxing place to grab a bite to eat in a really cute part of town. Our eyes were bigger than our stomachs and we could not finish all the food.
The mussels sounded great so i gave them a try, the sauce was amazing, the mussels themselves definitely could have been a bit bigger, but they did taste fresh and I was not disappointed.
Cheese curds were very good and all the sauces are homemade and worth the hype.
Pretzels were also very good and the bier cheese was amazing. Would definitely dine again

Fun ambiance with a local feel. Waiter was amazing; prefect amount of attention. We sat inside, but outside seating looked very enjoyable too. I ordered the hot mess. Best thing I've eaten in months. Little kick but not overpowering. Convenient parking lot just up the block. I hope to visit again soon.

All the locations I've been to are great, but this one has a quaint corner location and nice outdoor seating. Street parking, but usually spots within a block.
Food is always delicious. My go to is the chicken, bacon, avocado wrap with sweet potato fries. Never disappoints. We've come here with our kids and the servers were very accommodating.
I take family and friends to Hollander whenever they're in town. Highly recommend

We recently rented out the private event space upstairs for our post-wedding brunch and had a fantastic time! We worked with Molly throughout the entire process and she was so helpful - she answered all of my questions in a very timely matter. The food day of was excellent, as was the service. I would highly recommend hosting an event here!

Went for lunch and ordered their new Spiced Shrimp Salad. It was SO GOOD! It looks like a bottomless bowl, but it's so fresh and flavorful (and not spicy) that you'll accept the challenge.
Great service and food! I got the salmon smorrebrod and it was absolutely delicious. It gets a little busy but the seats at the bar were comfortable. All around a good atmosphere, I would recommend this place for a nice weekend brunch!
Wonderful food great stop!!! The kids loved their food, we loved our food! I ordered the Quinoa beet burger Seriously the best "burger" I've ever had!!! He had the bbq pretzel burger with cheese curds which also was sooo good. The fries where homemade. However we all agreed that mine was the star of the show. Prices were a bit Higher at around $13 a meal but for what we got it was worth it. Fun atmosphere, friendly staff all around great please keep it up!!!
Absolutely wonderful spot in Milwaukee. We came here bc a friend cannot have gluten and they have a separate menu.
There is plenty of outdoor seating with coverage but can get busy towards the lunch hour.
I got the friend chicken and waffles but have a weird thing about mixing my sweet and savory but the restaurant was happy to separate my meal. Chicken was well seasoned and good balance with the waffle.
Update:
Seems like they have new menus. Miss the old one since that was how I like the waffles and pancakes be done.
Order togo and there was no folks no napkins as it used to be. Eating with bare hands now is my favorite. Never come back :(((
