We went for a family style dinner for six. We were greeted and immediately taken care of. For appetizers we were served tomato salad with feta cheese and borek. For main course we tried chicken paprikash, musakkha, skewers with stir fry veggies and mashed potatoes. Absolutely loved the paprikash and borek. The mashed potato was very smooth which I liked. The food was more than enough for 6people and tasty. Highly recommend the restaurant!

We used to dine here years ago when we lived in Milwaukee. In town briefly and decided to revisit. Still wonderful old school atmosphere. Food was great. The Burek alone is worth the trip.

It was Thanksgiving Dinner. It was okay. I had traditional Turkey dinner. My grandson 6 , shared with me. He liked it very much . Just the turkey and potatoes. My Son said , well. Once is enough here. We all agreed ,

Cheese Burek is excellent! We also had goulash (delicious, but cold. ) , Veal Provance, good but cold. Their soup, mashed potatoes, sides ALL cold. Not room temp, actually chilled. Drinks are horribly expensive and weak. Hi-ball in a very small glass $12. Glass of soda $8. Not acceptable.

I enjoyed great food, great service, and a nice atmosphere. Food was well prepared and, considering everything that goes into making it, done in a timely manner.
I was impressed with the variety of foods and Balkan drinks available, the folks in charge do a great job sourcing things that I've looked for for quite awhile.

Had plans to go Three Brothers but they were unexpectedly close, so we came here. Very quaint old school establishment. Service and food were very good. We’re traveling from out of town but would come back. I’m glad we gave them our business.

Great service and atmosphere. Husband loved his goulash. My mousaka was a little dry, not like I remembered it. Bottle of Dalmatian wine left no headache nor reflux like a lot of reds so. The sausage appetizer was great! This was on Christmas Eve, not attended heavily.

Went at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Suggest going around this time. Had moussaka and lamb. Food was excellent. Staff very friendly and attentive. Definitely will return

Older iconic south side restaurant. Had an amazing meal! The food is authentic Serbian, it is served hot and delicious. The burek and moussaka were our favorites but all the food was excellent.

We got a "take and bake" burek, and it was delicious, just as we had enjoyed in the restaurant many times in the past.

We had a delightful Sunday lunch at a sidewalk cafe table with our dogs after mass at the Basilica of St Josaphat just down the street. This is an authentic old family owned Serbian restaurant and I loved everything about it...food, atmosphere, history. Highly recommended.
Michaelem Selissen
Amazing service with a great atmosphere. The food is very good as well. I would highly recommend.

Been a family favorite since my parents got married 42 years ago. It’s often quiet and I wish more people would be there. The Burek is so delicious and you can even pick it up to go, which I always do. Very authentic food crafted with love.

It's been over 10 years since we've been there. Our previous time made me think they were on the way out. Tonight... It was excellent! Serbian mousaka was fabulous. My wife had sarma... Also delicious. It's great to know Milwaukee is holding on to these culinary jewels.

One of the oldest Serbian restaurants in town. Great food and atmosphere! Great place for catering and events as well . Highly recommended for all .

This place is AMAZING!! Everything was so fresh, the atmosphere was nice and cozy, and the owner, Natalia was so kind and friendly! Definitely would recommend!

Restaurants today pale in comparison to the quality, flavor and integrity of the Old Town Serbian Gourmet. There’s no place in Milwaukee like this!

Excellent food! We were a mixed age group and wondered how the little ones would do...well, they loved the burek, the chicken paprikash...they loved everything that was served. Delicious and great service.

I waited by the host stand for several minutes, and when no one materialized, I waited inside the dining room until I saw the server assistant, who said I could sit anywhere, so I chose the smallest table, a four-top. The blonde curly-haired server came up to my table and started huffing and puffing because I was sitting there; I asked if I should move and she said no. I told her I had a Groupon ($30) and wanted to order burek and asked what else I should get with it. Multiple times she condescendingly started explaining that burek is a meal in itself and comes with nothing else; I'm pretty sure she was being purposely obtuse (though, what she said wasn't even true; the top of the menu says all entrees come with salad). When I finally got through to her that I was asking her advice about a vegetarian starter to complement the meal to get up to $30, she told me I could just get the burek and nothing else, I didn't need to order more just because I had a Groupon. To clarify, she was suggesting I leave 1/3 of the value of the Groupon on the table to save them money. I left. FYI, the prices are higher than what they have posted on this Facebook page.

Absolutely wonderful experience. The service was impeccable and the food was outstanding. Worth going to for a nice evening out no matter what the size of the group. Will be coming back.

The food was fantastic. Old world charm. Great service. House wine was good too.

Serbian food is simple yet elegant. The Proper combinations of elements produce a synergistic effect of flavor. Old Town has been producing unique delicacies since 1971. Don't miss an opportunity to enjoy this gourmet experience!

We both thoroughly enjoyed our meals and will be back. The restaurant has a great Milwaukee history behind it, which is catalogued in the cocktail area with pictures and articles dating back to 1971. Check it out!

Great food and the servers are just wonderful

Always excellent, roasted lamb shank falls right off the bone...so tender and flavorful.

Try it, You'll love it. Great Eastern European Kitchen!!!

We've always been a fan of the sarma and burek at Old Town, and now have tried more Serbian specialties at the Jan. 15 special six-course dinner with wine pairings. It was excellent! I'd highly recommend it. Delicious dishes, new wines to try, and a great value for the quality and quantity of food. We also made new friends, in an atmosphere that was social and inviting as we learned about the wines and dishes of the region. Can't wait for the next events on Feb. 12 and March 11!

Great food! My wife is addicted to their palachinka. We have been going here for decades and have always had excellent meals and service. Yes, the decor is dated. We talked to owner Natalia and she has faced some huge hurdles since she has taken over. This includes the death of her mom & dad, the original owners. We are confident that she will revitalize Serbian Old Town and return it to its glory. In the interim, the fantastic dishes retain their glorious flavor.

Excellent European Food. If their out of an item its because it was popular and authentic and it sold out that day, other restaurants simply reorder from Cisco the frozen factory food. This place is the real deal, so please everyone who posts something negative because they were out of an item, think about what your doing. Yes your expressing your opinion but your taking away from a family run authentic restaurant and putting the factory food corporate system that could care less about your health and food quality.

I love this place, if the waiter is rude... well maybe you were a jerk. I want quality food with a rich history and tradition.

WONDERFUL DINING EXPERIENCE. My wife and myself had the pleasure of dining at the Old Town Serbian Gourmet House on February 15.
The Old Town Serbian Restaurant has been a favorite of ours for many years, and although we haven't been there in a while, it did not disappoint.
The service was very friendly and attentive without being intrusive.
The food ( I had Goulash, my wife Sarma ) was well prepared and quite tasty.
One of my favorites has always been the Serbian salad and it was amazing!, fresh tomatoes, onions Feta cheese and probably some other ingredients made for a nice blending of textures and flavor.
There was a short wait for the food and we enjoyed bread and spread to fill the time.
The atmosphere was charming with musicians playing old favorites as well as Serbian classics.
My daughter loves the Burek and we could not pass up the opportunity to order one 'to go' which she greatly appreciated.
A nice Serbian Merlot complemented the entrees nicely with its full bodied flavor and enticing bouquet.
We finished our meal with Serbian coffee and Apple Struedel- OUTSTANDING!
Our evening was memorable and we will be back for more ... and soon.

Minimal Service, Maximum Attitude. The food was acceptable (but not for this price) but the waitress was the worst I have ever had in my life - and that covers decades of dining experiences. If you do not like people, and you cannot fake it, you should not be employed as a waitress. If you are a restaurant owner, you should read the reviews for your restaurant. Unbelievably bad dining experience.

This restaurant opened in 1971 and I have been coming here since 1980. The food is wonderful, service is ok. But, we still keep coming back and will til we can't no more!

Scary bad. The food here was good, but the service was HORRIBLE. There were only five tables of guests, but the waitress managed to insult three of them. I have never been treated so rudely by anyone in the service industry. The waitress even insulted my 10 year-old son. If you are looking for an enjoyable evening out - keep looking.

Our food was decent, but terrible service. Our waitress was not only rude but hostile. The manager was completely dismissive. Go elsewhere....

We had Stuffed Zucchini, Goulash, and the Baklava for dessert. It was very good and made for a nice intro to Serbian cuisine. It was more mild than i expected, so if you like spicy foods, you might ask them to make yours more exciting. Be sure to try the Baklava which is denser and more flavorful than the same dessert in other Mediterranean cultures.

Old Town Serbian Milwaukee. I recently moved to Milwaukee and have been using the Living Social as a way to explore places that are advertise > I was skeptical about the OLD TOWN SERBIAN restaurant when we arrived just because of the surrounded area, but once we entered the restaurant we were pleasantly surprised the atmosphere was very pleasant, relaxing we had a four course meal and it was delicious!! We started with the burke and next a salad which was a light green leaf and cabbage with house dressing, I had the serbian style cod with rice and veg. and my wife had the serbian lamb shank, cabbage mashed potatoes and veg. and it was well worth the trip we will be back to try out more off the menu... The service was very motivated and attentive to all of our needs.
looking forward to eating there again! 5*

Wonderful food. My burek was delicious and immense, easily enough for three meals. My companion's moussaka (I think that's what it was) was also delicious. Our desserts, schaum torte and baklava, were excellent. Service was quick and courteous. Definitely one of the better restaurants in Milwaukee.
Sam
Great food and service!. The burek is wonderful--significantly better than Three Bros. I love coming here and enjoying it's charm. The service is excellent. I hope this place stays around for another 40 years.

Old World Charm. When you walk in the door of Old Town you are transported to another time with decors and delicious aromas coming from the kitchen. Having grown up in a time when families actually spent a Sunday afternoon cooking a large meal it brought me back to my childhood.
I was excited to find "cabbage rolls" on the menu
(sorry the serbian name escapes me). Warm and delicious they did not spare a chance. Stuffed peppers, stuffed grape leaves and stuffed zuccini all had variations of a wonderfully seasoned rice and meat mix.
Service was pleasantly slow which none of us minded.
We will definately be back....
