We went here for fish fry. We also had the Shrimp Chowder and truffles.
The fish fry: although very delicious, could be seasoned better. I feel like a lot of places don't finish the batter off with salt once it is done frying. That being said, you could actually taste the beer flavoring and it was very light while the fish had big flakes and a beautiful texture. It didn't fall apart when you ate it.
The chowder was hands down my favorite thing - it was creamy, salty, comforting, all things you look for in a chowder. It had a lot of shrimp in it! And not the small kind, medium sized. I am coming back just for this! And the mussels!
The truffle was melt in your mouth perfect! You initially get hit with a coffee taste and then it just melts. Hands down one of the best truffles I have had.
I can't wait to come back!!
The freshest calamari I've ever had. Really impressed. Fantastic taps as well. Other dishes (muscles, Caesar salad) are consistently 10/10 every time.
First time here on Tuesday, which is mussel night! They also had a deal on glasses of wine and draft beer. For everything pictured (glass of wine, beer, full order of mussels, and fries) it was only $22!! We got there around 7PM and sat at the bar. It wasn’t very busy and we got our food right away! Definitely going back for mussels again!
Great Mac and Cheese. Get it with all three cheeses! Add sausage for something extra. Will go again.
Second time here with my wife, and we liked it even more than the first time. The fried Brussels sprouts were great (asked for more bread to get the last of the soy/honey sauce) and our fish fry and salad were both just what we wanted. Prices are slightly high, but the food is great, the service really nice, and everything just worked. It's not fancy, but it's a real skill to be professional and yet low key like Triskele's. I feel like it's not a place that everyone gets, but if you get it, you'll love it.
This Walker's Point's spot is truly a hidden gem that you will have to check out at least once in your life. I see no other way around this. If you can, you must check this place out. It is that good and for some reason, this place is very dear to my heart even though I've been here only twice!
One very important thing I want to mention about this place is that it feels different. Their working hours and days are relatively shorter than what you'd normally expect. It is one of those places that you will need to plan and want to go to in order to actually be able to go. Check their working hours and website before you plan on going. It is not something you can just normally stop by and be sure it is always open. This is a very personal and cozy experience.
I will not be going into details about food choices here, mainly because the menu is always changing and it's hard to recommend something when I know it might not be there anymore. I think this is one of the things that I love about this place. It is always different and you know that the cooks are good enough that it's very hard to go wrong here.
The one thing they're very famous for is their baked Mac n' Cheese dish. Its phenomenal. It is really good. I think it's been on the menu for a while without changing. I highly recommend this dish. You can add chicken to it if you want to.
I know this will sound insignificant but I really loved their garlic aioli. I don't know if they always have it but If they do, get that on the side of whatever you are eating.
The place itself is very dark. Not too small but not too big. You will be aware of people sitting next to you. Clean, comfortable, romantic but also family friendly (but not kids running around friendly), and smells like good food. The service was great. Helpful and patient and will help you choose if you have any doubts.
Bathrooms are clean. Street parking is available.
Friendly people : delicious food. Chef owned/operated and it shows. Meals prepared expertly. We've gone back often and will continue to do so. Brussel Sprout appetizers TO DIE FOR. Steak melts in your mouth. Love this place. If it's crowded, you'll wait for your food. It's worth it. Prices very reasonable. Ample parking.
Mac & cheese with polish sausage. Amazing! Also tried the ginger pork wontons, which were fabulous.
Their happy hour specials are legitimately great, and don't just feel like they're throwing you a bone or a symbolic gesture. The atmosphere was homey and comfortable. The mac & cheese was delicious, as were the brussel sprouts and sweet potato fries. As a side point, parking is not an issue at all, which is another positive. I *need* to go back and try more of their menu!
Wow just wow. I love this place! If you're looking to have the most delicious, decadent macaroni and cheese that you'll be thinking about for the rest of your life, this is the spot! They also have amazing brussell sprouts I frequently day dream about. They have an amazing mussel special. The best service is at the bar so find yourself a spot there. Everything is reasonably priced, well portioned and delicious.
