I recently had the pleasure of dining at China Gourmet, and I must say it was an exquisite experience that exceeded the expectations for a family dinner spot this holiday evening. The menu offered a plethora of options to accommodate anyone's taste from vegetarian, beef, chicken, duck, seafood, and beyond. The staff was wonderful and being served by the owner was a treat in and of itself. He was courteous and helped me find the perfect dish --- which I will note was the best dish I've had at any asian cuisine restaurant. I ordered something extremely simple, chicken and broccoli. What made this dish stand out is that I asked for it very spicy and my request was met with no hesitation. The flavors were immaculate and the extra spiciness didn't take away from the dish (as it often does when a chef doesn't know what they're doing). A perfectly executed dining experience that rounded out our day trip in Milwaukee. Highly recommended. Edit: Our family while engrossed in conversation forgot our leftovers. In perfect timing, the aforementioned owner ran across the street to meet us at the elevators to the parking garage to bring this to our attention. We are so grateful because we had already been talking about the exciting lunch we would be having tomorrow with the excess food the large portions left us with. Another perfect example of the outstanding service of this restaurant.

Huge menu. Very quiet restaurant, but busy take out service. Very good food that was reasonably priced. I will definitely be back!

Food is great. We did the Special Chinese Dinner, which came with spring rolls, crab Rangoon, soup, and the entrees we ordered (Honey Garlic Chicken and Peking Duck). The chicken was sweet, crispy, and delicious. The duck was served with pancakes and hoisin sauce, which I feel drowned out the taste of the duck (still taste great, just didn't feature the duck well). Atmosphere is a bit odd, with constant phone ringing, mobile order reminders, etc. However, to survive COVID, I'm sure they did what was necessary. All-in-all we'd definitely go back.

Great place to eat, everyone is friendly, and most importantly great food. Come down to the best Chinese restaurant downtown!

The food was good and well prepared, but the lack of manpower slowed down the process quite a bit. If you have a lot of time on your hands and want authentic Chinese cuisine, I recommend China Gourmet. If you're in a hurry or really hungry, I'd suggest you go elsewhere.

Very friendly and the duck I ordered was delicious.
