Great food. Fast service. Excellent Chicago dogs.
The older location had customer comments and responses from management on the wall. There were also political messages against our President. Glad to see that wasn't there at the new place, I'm here for the food, not a rant on our current governmental policy.
My only complaint is about the nachos. Cheese is just dumped on the chips and not provided in a cup so most times I'm left with half a container of chips but no cheese for them as I ate the chips with the cheese. Sure i probably could have paid for extra cheese but I don't
Sprecher Root Beer is on tap and you have free refills so that's a plus!

I can't believe I lived in West Allis for 22 years and never ate here before today! The food was top notch! I had the corn dog and my husband had the jumbo Chicago dog. The customer service was wonderful! Everyone was so nice! I was also impressed with how clean the restaurant was including the bathrooms! I would recommend this place to all my friends and I will eat here again! Also a side note... today I checked something off my bucket list and that was to sit on one of the hand shaped chairs. :-)
First time in a long time since I've eaten here! We were craving brats and not having a grill in summertime is torture :( We were not disappointed, we will be back!! Boyfriends first time eatting at this hidden gem. Can't beat $2 Sunday dogs!!

Had the steak sandwich on Saturday and came back Sunday for the Chicago dogs!!! Welcomed as soon as I came in not only by owner but also the employee managing the register!!! Shakes were awsome to go great with the food!!!!
I was born and raised in West Allis. Now I live in Kansas. Whenever I visit family and friends, you are one of the places I go to when I am in town. Your hot dogs are great!

My family has been going to Sammys for years! I started out young loving the pizza puffs, then Italian beefs, and recently got hooked on the Chicago dogs!! Whatever it is you can't go wrong! And well frankly half off dogs on a Sunday is a fantastic deal!! I think I need another Chicago dog soon.....

Way better Italian beef than Portillo's and cheaper. Fries are really good. Large portion for the price. Place is clean and not so overwhelming as portillos. Family owned feel not the crazy chain feel
I drove up from Tennessee to visit my mother in law in Milwaukee and she said "Susan, would you mind going to "Sammy's" and picking us up some dinner?" Hmmmmm? Sammy's is the best. I didn't mind going at all. Yummy!

Just so good. Got the Italian Beef with peppers/mozzarella/giardiniera. Made it a meal with a soda and fries. The sandwich was so good and the fries... Perfect.
SAMMY's is the real deal. That FAKE place that opened on blue mound needs to just go away.
Or better yet.... SAMMY should buy them and spread his good food to more people!!!

I had their maxwell polish and I promise you, I had a old school moment of how Jew town polishes in Chicago use to taste back in the day. So I had to go get me 2 more!

Long time local establishment. Been going here since I was in grade school. Shakes are great. Best hot dog in the area. Owner is a genuine hard working small business guy. Love the feel of the inside. I wish they had a larger eating space with games and pinball like the old days, but I imagine a spot like this is much more cost effective. I no longer live in the area, but I’ll always stop by if I’m in the area!

Sammy's is the spot! The atmosphere is very Americana and nostalgic. Everywhere you look there is an interesting piece of art from American culture. The food was authentic as it gets and there is plenty to choose from. I got the Chicago dog meal deal and a chocolate shake and they were created perfectly! You also got a generous amount of fries with the meal. The chocolate shake even had a wafer cookie as a mini treat! The prices are also top notch and very affordable for a large group or family. I advise going Sunday for their hotdog meal deal. It's probably the best value for your money in the entire state. I HIGHLY recommend giving Sammy's a try for your hot dog and sweet tooth needs!

I remember when my mom worked here. I'd always see her. She'd get me a shake with my fav wafer, and a hot dog while I'd open pokemon cards. Best days ever. Even though that's the past, I still enjoy the food and the customer service! If you're ever in Milwaukee, please stop here! 💙 xoxo

This place is awesome! Granted, it's not much to look at, but trust me, the food is outstanding! Love the Chicago style dogs! And the fries were amazing, too!

Sammy's has been around for a long time and I have to say I have been an avid fan of the place from the get-go when I moved to the area probably about 22 years ago. The hot dogs of course are tops and nobody can really mess with them. The Italian beef as well is always delicious and moist. I highly recommend them for a really quick lunch or even if you are out and about for work with your coworkers. I have taken my boss before and he loved it.

Sammy’s Taste of Chicago (Nov. 3, 2022)
Visited Milwaukee/Chicago from Nov 2-5 with 2 of 3 days spent in the former. Decided to visit Sammy’s since time constraints prevent me from having sufficient time to spend on cuisine in Chicago.
As I was traveling cheap again and used public transportation as my primary means of traveling, I took the bus from downtown Milwaukee after visiting the Milwaukee Public Museum (A MUST visit while in Milwaukee!) on Thursday early afternoon. The one-way trip took about 45 minutes, and afforded you to see different sides of Milwaukee. It’s about a 4 minute walk from the destination bus stop to the eatery. The pictures you see in the reviews are very descriptive of the place. I’ve included a picture of the one change to supplement with the latest info and prices and certain fees.
Food-wise, I ended up ordering a Polish sausage combo as my sit-in meal. The main selling point of the Polish sold here is that it is prepared FRIED as opposed to grilled in almost all other places. Let’s just say a fried Polish ups the taste with its crispr skin during the frying process. It is ordered Chicago style (Mustard, chopped onions, tomato and pickle slices - the only way to go!), and added the combo fries and drink which is priced 30 cents more than what most pictures reflected. The combo deal is a great buy as it included loads of fries even if that’s more costly compared to the past. The takeaway sandwich if bratwurst was a little disappointing when eaten later however; should have gone with the Chicago dog instead. Anyways, the Polish was highly fulfilling, and it’s a must have the next time I get there again.
The owner (We talked about AT&T removing directory assistance!) and staff were pleasant. The kitchen staff were HIGHLY efficient. Based on my experiences, this is a 5 out of 5 star rating. It is a little out of the way, but if you do not have time to visit Chicago during your Milwaukke trip, definitely do not miss a visit to Sammy’s.
** Something I discovered while waiting for food and chatting with other customers: Sammy’s still offers a senior discount, and certain free food with purchase (I think it’s a free fry with 3 jumbo dogs purchased.). It’s no longer listed anywhere, but the store will honor these deals only if requested.

Very excellent food! For me I did the beef sandwich with mushrooms and mozzarella and it was not only huge, but awesome too.
It was a very pleasant atmosphere and had lots of nostalgic pictures and the such hanging on the walls.
The staff was incredibly friendly and offered some helpful tips on constructing my sandwich.
Great job! I will definitely be back for more.

I am literally addicted to their double bacon cheeseburgers and fries. Cheeseburgers are better than Copps and Culvers. Fries are amazing every time. Love it.
