Great BBQ in a fantastic setting north of the mason Dixon line. This was southern food served with a smile. Everyone that works here was friendly and offered kind service even though they weren’t “your waiter”.
Bottomless sweet tea, Fried green tomatoes, jalapeño cheddar biscuit with honey butter, brisket that was tender, moist and flavorful, a pulled pork po boy that hot the spot and to top it off bourbon pecan pie served warm with vanilla ice cream and a caramel drizzle. So nice to see a restaurant in Long Island that has character and good food.
Biscuits & Barbeque for Easter dinner. So, so good!! The roast leg of lamb was as if it had come out of my own oven. Delicious and a generous portion. Yummy sides and the biscuit was amazing with honey butter. Then came dessert. We had Pecan Pie with homemade vanilla ice cream; chocolate turtle pie; and fresh peach cobbler with homemade vanilla ice cream. Best meal out that I've had in a very, very long time. I can't wait until we go back for more deliciousness. And the folks there are so nice and accommodating. Highly recommend.

There’s really nothing bad anyone could say about Biscuits and barbecue. Always bring cash they don’t take credit cards. There food is soul food comfort food with the southern hospitality. My favorite dish was Shrimp and Grits. And Biscuits and Jam. And Sweet Tea of course. Not really into cakes and pies. But they have a big variety of food so bring your appetite.
The place makes you feel comfortable. It's clean, the staff is super friendly and the food is delicious. The waiter we had, his name was John and he was so nice. Answered any questions we had. I'm a plain Jane so I only had a burger but my hubby loves all the crazy food so we went for him to have the crawfish boil. He said it was the best thing ever. Another member of the staff came to empty his bowl of the shells and he was also very nice. And don't get me started on the woman behind the counter. Everyone was so friendly and we loved the place. Only been there twice. Once was take out and once we dined in. Will definitely be back soon!
Food is delicious and made in-house, staff is so friendly, cozy atmosphere! Such a hidden gem! Would recommend this place to everyone
I had the seafood gumbo and the jambalaya. Both had big chunks of meat in them and were seasoned well. (I add Tabasco Chipotle to the gumbo). The corn bread was excellent.
I have been here multiple times and it never disappoints!! Bourbon Rib tips were delicious and of course the freshest fried chicken you can find. Save room for homemade dessert or get it to go, just don’t leave without it
Love this place.. the food is so delicious and never disappoints. The service is unbelievable, they really go above and beyond any expectation. Highly recommend you will not regret it
Great food. Great service. Family friendly. I've been here a half dozen times and I always leave happy and full. A hidden gem for amazing barbecue in Nassau County.
The food is simply amazing. Doesnt look like much from the outside, but when you step into this comfy establishment you will not be disappointed. Everything taste fresh and cooked with love. I deff recommend this to anyone looking for southern Louisiana cooking. The desserts are simply "Out of Bounds" you have to try it
This barbeque place was awesome. I had bbq brisket and hush puppies (yes from smokey and the bandit). I loved it.
Triple threat...great food, service, and reasonable price! Everything in the menu sounds great. The sides were delicious. You can't go wrong with the baked beans, jalapeño mashed potatoes, and mac and cheese.
Can't wait to go back and try everything on the menu! Just remember, cash only! Had to run to the ATM because we out-ate my wallet! Fried okra and catfish po'boy were awesome, my wife is still raving about the biscuit.
Brisket was mouth watering & the rib meat fell off the bone. All the sides we tried were terrific & the the peach/pear cobbler was yummy! We’ll be back!
Great food, great service. For such a small place they make you feel comfortable. I had the alligator and pulled pork Mac and cheese it was soooooo good and the biscuits and gravy was the best I ever had!!! The ribs we're great as well. Definitely going back soon.
We just came out and I just had to write this review. Great customer service is soo hard to find! Tracey was so kind, considerate and patient. Just a people person. The chef came out to say “Hi”. Like where do you find this anymore.
Small, dining car with amazing food on Long Island. If you are in the area and like Louisiana style food, you cannot beat the noms.
We start with hush puppies and a biscuit smothered with andouille gravy. Both were yum and well cooked.
My gf ordered Chicken Fried beef steak with cheddar jalapeno mashed and vegetable of day (green beans, carrots, and zucchini with a yummy sauce). I had one of the specials, BBQ Smoked Turkey with dirty rice and beef burnt ends.
Both of us were over the moon with both dishes. I gave kudos to the chef who came out and was asking how we liked it.
Would/will go again when I am in the area. Worth every bite.
One of my favorite restaurants in Mineola! Anytime I'm around there, I have to stop in and at least look at the specials.
Yesterday's stop in, I ended up getting corn fritters, brisket dinner, and a sausage gravy biscuit. The corn fritters were super crunchy on the outside but warm and fluffy inside. The taste was perfect. The brisket was cooked to perfection, just a little small on the portion. The collard greens were good, but the cheese grits blew me out of the water, best dish by far. We wrapped up dinner with the biscuit and gravy. Great taste overall.
Can't wait until they get some more alligator specials in. That's always my favorite.
This place is amazing. I haven't had southern food this good since travelling from New York to Florida on a road trip. Jambalaya was spot on and not too spicy. The cheese grits were great. And the bannana cream pie was the best part.
Popped in for brunch with my son, and our server Rena, I was pleasant and helpful, helping to narrow down my white choices, because I wanted to eat everything on the menu😏
An amazing spot for BBQ. We have been here twice. Both times it did not disappoint. Good portions , amazing food with amazing service. Highly recommend! Chicken and waffles were excellent. Bacon cheeseburger burger cooked to perfection. Dixie Mac and cheese was delicious.
Fantastic food, great takeout family combo meals and the food is worth every penny.
My kids are Mac n cheese snobs now thanks to this place and their homemade desserts are out of this world.
Fried chicken is always juicy and crisp made to order and all of their meats are so perfectly tender. If it wasn’t for their hidden gem status they’d been busier than a bagel shop on Sunday morning.
Unassuming location. 70s vibe. Personally love the decor. Our wait staff was attentive and pleasant. We ordered sweet tea, 2 combo and 2 cornbread.
Love the sweet tea. The cornbread too moist for my liking but still good. I had the half rack and the meat fell off the bones when I went pick them up. The BBQ sauce was tangy, sweet and tasty. Loved the collard greens and baked beans. The fried chicken combo was right there with the spare ribs (esp with the hot sauce). The cheddar jalapeño mashed potatoes was flavorful without being spicy.
Had an AMAZING experience at Biscuits & Barbeque! The food was amazing and it was a cute atmosphere. My fiancé and I split appetizers - Mac & cheese, seafood gumbo (served with corn bread), brisket chili, FRIED cheese grits with shrimp (the grits was really actually fried and 2 shrimp), hush puppies (with honey mustard that my fiancé loved), biscuit with raspberry and honey butter, pepper Jack biscuit with sausage gravy, and to top it off coffee pecan bread pudding. Everything was so tasty and we had leftovers - only $100, which was great. This place is bring your own alcohol - I forgot how much you save not buying alcohol at a restaurant lol. We actually walked to the brewery that was maybe 5 minutes away. We sampled while there, but didn’t even open it at the restaurant because we wanted to make sure we were not too full to eat everything 😂 HIGHLY recommend!
Nice little gem, food was amazing though. Their chicken and waffles is one of the best I have ever had. Really great food and calm atmosphere.
Had been looking at some reviews online and all had high praises about this place and it's food.
So glad to have chosen to go here for an early dinner,...the food was absolutely amazing the staff charming and on spot.
Definitely by far the best Cajun/BBQ joint we've been to on Long Island.
We will be going back.
True gem. We were in the area and looking for a spot to have a dinner on Saturday. We craved some good BBQ spot so when this place popped up described as combination of Cajun and BBQ, we had to give it a shot. And I am so glad we did. I love places like these, small, family run restaurants, with everything home made and fresh. Brisket was that day's special and it was delicious. We also tried aligator sausages that were awesome as well. Desert also looked very good, but we were so full that we didn't have any space left for it, so we'll have to come back to give it a shot. A must try if you're in the area!
Great friendly service, clean establishment and quick service. Its a gem if you’re in the area, you have to dine in to get the full experience. But if you’re with a group of more than 4, come on a day when you don’t mind eating outside cause its tight in there-cozy. Because the sauces are made fresh for the biscuits and bread pudding, dine in. The blackened catfish was well seasoned and side of vegetables were fresh. Cheese grits were cheesy and just really good. Probably the best cheese grits I’ve eaten in a really long time. The shrimp Po boy sandwich was well prepared because the shrimps were seasoned well and fried hard so it didn’t fall out of the sandwich. On to desert-apple cobbler ala mode-yum. Prices were average considering its a pandemic and portions were decent. I will definitely be back.
Delicious homemade food. The biscuits are so tasty.
A wild experience they have all types of great bbq food, very unique flavors. A must try, it's a special little spot. Great for weekend brunch. Delicious BBQ food and the friendliest staff. Their desserts are amazing and you won't leave their hungry.
Visited on a rainy evening. This place is fantastic for a good price. The service was quick and they were really friendly. Weeknights they have a full 3 course meal for $39.99. I had the biscuits with butter, 1/2 rack of ribs and the apple bread pudding. I was stuffed, definitely will return here!
As I paid, I expressed to the owner that I was so glad to see they had made it through the pandemic. She said they were hanging on by their fingernails but that the takeout business had kept them afloat. Helping their cause, I'm sure, is that they now take cards after years of being a cash-only joint. The owner is very friendly as well, and she runs such a great business.
