We went around 6pm and it was pretty busy, this was my first time here. Our waitress had a full plate and was still able to care for us with no issues. Both of us got the chicken fried steak, I opted out for the more tender that was a dollar more and it was worth it! Real mashed potatoes and gravy, with some banging fried Okra. The strawberry daqarie hit the spot after a long hard day of working at our nonprofit reptile rescue Living Wild Outside. Def recommend this place and will be back again!!
Some of the best food in this part of Texas comes from Mesquite Pit here in Mineral Wells. The manager, Phebie Fox, trains her staff how to please their customers. Everything from fried green onions, to grilled catfish, chicken fried steak, grilled ribeye and salads are the best in this area. The ambiance is also very comfortable and relaxing.

The meal of course was wonderful, but the service was great. Did not have to wait on my call-in order. I asked for a gallon of sweet tea and they had it iced down for me. The extra is very appreciated.
The ribs are perfect every time. If you want to try something different try their smoked salmon. It is one of my favorites.
Have been to the Mesquite Pit in Mineral Wells and Weatherford. Both places have great people working there. Easy to tell they thrive on making sure you have a good night and meal with them.
Good food! Really like this place. The service is always great. If you go on a Sunday expect at least a 20 minute wait, but it's worth it. I have tried several things, CFS, Fried Catfish, Steak and never disappointed.
